I found this series quite disappointing and don't even want to consider it canon to the main series. It just lacks all of the charm the original had, has terrible fight choreography, and the story does not make consistent sense with the original, especially how the characters are acting.

I also hate to see that all the responsible characters just abandoned their kids in this series as well.

Are you guys going to watch the next season or drop?

I will definetly watch the second season, as I personally really liked the first season despite it flaws. And after that final Episode I am really hyped and looking forward to this season now, as I think that, if they manage to adapt to the critic from the first season like the pacing, this season can really be an awesome continuation.

I completely agree with you. What I particularly hated was the storytelling, it was all over the place. It’s not a bad show, in fact the plot was kinda good. The nostalgia of knowing what happened to our beloved characters from Inuyasha definitely and wanting to see them happy is what makes me want to watch the second season too.

Absolutely! The plot itself was interesting, but the way it was told was what made it so intolerable. That being said, I gotta know what happens with the girls and the main cast.

Absolutely. Inuyasha is my fave anime and Yashahime was really fun despite the pacing issues in the middle. That final episode made up for EVERYTHING

I'm not sure if I'm going to watch. I have a few more episodes of the first season left. I started to get disappointed with the storytelling.

The ending wasn’t as bad as I was thinking it would of been. Rip Setsuna 🙏 I will watch the series even though season 1 was pretty bad I’ll watch it because InuYasha was one of my gateways to anime.

I don't think so, I decided to finish the first season because I kind of hoped they would do something decent but by episode 14 it was obvious that was not going to happen, I finished it because I had already invested time in it. But I don't think I will be wasting more time on this horribly written joke.

Nah, I'm done with yashahime... I'm aware that I only made it through this season cause I was watching it on a weekly basis (and also cause I thought it'd be over in one season), but when we started getting filler eps it hit me there would probably be a season 2 and it made me cringe. If the season had been dropped all at once (like some netflix show for example) I would have said nope to it very early on. I loved inuyasha and had high expectations for this series since Rumiko herself was writing it, but to me it was just a huge disappointment in the end.

I plan on marathoning the first season now that it's finished air but seeing a second season in works makes me wanna hold out still for more episodes but it seems like lots of the fans didn't like this series too well judging by the score of season 1

I'll watch it in hopes it's better, otherwise this has unfortunately been definitely one of the least good shows I've seen, and I struggle to say this as I'd like to love the series as I love inuyasha, but this has really been... not the greatest. 24 episodes and no clear plot.

The pacing/transition between some episodes was problematic at times, but overall it feels like it's started hitting it's stride. Unsurprisingly due to Sesshomaru becoming more active in the plot.

The big question in the future is whether Inuyasha will end up being portrayed as stupidly weak or something.

Obviously yes, looking forward for season 2.

I really hate when some idiot say canon/noncanon for anime.

Japanese anime do not use canon concept, everything valid if it's official.
The concept canon doesn't even exist in japan.

As a long-time Inuyasha fan, definitely yes.

Hope things will be better in this second outing, patching whatever inconsistencies Season 1 may have brought along in its wake.

Yes I will, but I kinda dig the disappointment about the show. For me honestly the only thing annoying is that the story itself heavily rely on audience curiosity about what happened to the main characters of InuYasha and why all of them just disapeared leaving their childs alone, you watch every episode searching for that answer but it never shows up just to mantain the audience engaged, it kinda feel like youtube clickbaits, but aside that I think the girls very charismatic and I can only wish they'll rely more on this charisma than curiosity about past characters.

I will watch the next season IF will have 13 episodes or less. I suffered to watch the first season, too much episodes looked like fillers, some plots was without solution, the balance of power is not good in my opinion, Towa being stronger than Moroha and Setsuna doesn't any make sense. Where is Inuyasha? Where is Shippou? What is the reason for other characters like Sango and Miroku don't move or questioning what's happened with Inuyasha and Kagome?

I honestly don't know. The first season was already painful enough for me to get through. Maybe if season 2 is only 12 episodes and we get more cameos from older characters I could muster the willpower to get through it. Also we really haven't seen older Shippo yet, smh.

While I was disappointed by Yashahime as a whole, part of that is because I hold the original in high regard. On it's own, I thought the series was fine, and every episode after the dumb ojou-sama filler was good (though that's only five episodes out of twenty-four). It definitely wasn't bad enough to give up on this universe or ignore as non-canon

The only parent who abandoned their child was Sesshomaru, who is raising them by some dumbass "survival code". Even then, he's willing to give Towa a means to bring Setsuna back, rather than just letting her die.

I have too as a diehard fan for inuyasha. The first season got a six from me and only that high for the last five episodes. I don’t really like setsuna and the pacing and production of the first season was bad. So many plot holes that it got boring, so boring that I rewatched inuyasha again I ur of desperation. PLUS THE OSTS WERRE TRASH. Second season should be good though based on the last 5 eps. As long as the osts are better and jay one and inuyasha come back I’m good.

I just got caught by surprise actually, the last news I read was that the anime audience was going badly and that they were going to close the anime in 24 episodes. and honestly I don't blame them because i almost dropped too. the story seemed very non-linear and random, which changed this direction in the last episodes, even so the story for me is very confused, or thrown loose

I will watch as a critic. But as far as enjoyment is concerned? No. Inuyasha (as a series) was better off without the cash grab milking session that was Yashahime.
There's no inherent right or wrong in this universe, but when we think with emotions rather than logic, we make things so.

I will be watching it but now I know where my expectations should be. I shouldn't expect anything better than the first season. I think that the production could have been way better had it removed the "fillers" and focus that time on building its main characters up. It's kind of upsetting to see the sequel be approached like this. I just hope that the next season steps it up and surprises me.

I will watch the next season simply because they didn’t answer or address anything about where Inuyasha and Kagome currently are. I honestly didn’t care for Towa and Setsuna, but Moroha was a comfort character of mine earlier in the season... a shame they basically dropped her for the last few episodes until the big finale.

They're in the black pearl, the path between the world of the living and the afterlife, the gravesite of Inuyasha's father.

I’m still on the fence about s2. Sad to say, even after 24 eps i still have little to no attachment to the new characters, and equally less understanding of their motivations or plot significance beyond “things happening just to move the episode along” 😕 I may just keep tabs on s2 to find out what happens with the old-school characters... like where in the HFIL Shippo has been 😅

Hm well I don't agree with some people who think it had nothing in common with the original but it was certainly pretty disappointing. The fact that they spent the first season how they did but then foreshadow like that in the last ep is quite... well we will see how it goes.
I'll definitely watch the second season, though, I want to know whether they manage to make it even worse or can elevate the first season lmao. I generally only drop things that are too uncomfortable to watch, though.

Overall it is a little bit eh. I mean they obviously invested quite a bit more into the animation of the final ep than the rest of the season combined... but it was still pretty lacking. Especially since it exists in the era of works like Kimetsu no Yaiba and Violet Evergarden. Though, I mean KnY had pretty terrible scenes too with 3D Tanjiro but they knew to use those for the transitions and really elevated the important scenes where as Yashahime really doesn't have any peaks.

Man.. I really just hope Shaman King reboot is handled better than this lmao.

I've watched half of season 1. I think it's 4 or 5/10 at best. I hate Towa's naivete and that's my biggest reason for rating it that low.

But I intend to finish it and eventually watch season 2. Since I don't know if I will ever watch Inuyasha.
