Those are some clever tactic thinking. I think by planting a trap with a wedding ring is a clever tactic

It's stiil a very thrilling episode imo. Trying to unravel the real criminal in this case is no easy task, and even William knows it.

Honestly, the fact that the purpose of this arc is to just test Holmes is a great way to establish Holmes and Watson as a character to set up the next arc.

Speaking of the next arc, looks like we'll see Holmes and Moriarty reunite again. Can't wait to see how they interact and face off with one another like in the previous arc.

Even the street boy Wiggins is hot! In fact, I think Japan is impacted by The Baker Street Irregulars more than any other Sherlock Holmes elements, many anime, Detective Conan (Case Closed) included, feature a group of children trying to solve crime.

Chapters 8 (2nd half) and 9: continuing the Study of "S" and finishing with the remainder.

As expected, Sherlock in trade with Inspector Lestrade, and the will of release to trust his Detective skills to solve a case with Watson.

Just like Moriarty, enlisting the help of external parties to do the dirty work for them is a definite must to cover their tracks whilst doing undercover work on their part.

And to aim credit to Sherlock's name, his attention to detail is second-to-none while maintaining his level-headedness against criminals under Moriarty's brillant dictatorship of a testing of quality.

Game-on-game point! A worthy adversary indeed, and the stage is set for their future plots against each other.

Sherlock and Moriarty are enjoying their lives to the fullest. Moriarty made this scheme only to test if Sherlock is worthy for solving Moriarty's crimes, and he wasn't disappointed. I love watching masterminds compete with each other, great episode.

Sherlock being Sherlock 👍 Being so dramatic with his feint attempt of shooting Hope 😂
I look forward to next week where we'll see Sherlock meets Moriarty again face to face. Ahhh what a reunion this will be.
Two geniuses at it again.

I loved this episode! I was terrified that we'd be getting Hunting of the Baskervilles next episode, its horrific, and am somewhat relieved that Two Detectives is coming up next, though I do find it interesting how they're switching up the order.

When I was reading the novel, I really wanted to know who the person in disguise was, but Hope never revealed his name. I prayed that this anime would do something about that, and I am not disappointed.

Damn, Fred is not just cute, but also athletic! I have not seen him in the novel till now. I wonder when he'll appear.

I got really excited when I saw the baker Street irregulars. I had kind of forgotten they existed. lol

Was Drebber a bad man in the novel? I don't remember.

They didn't include Hope's trial. I wanted to see it, but I guess that has nothing to do with the story.

Watson wrote about Sherlock in his diaries! Seeing the title 'A Study in Scarlet' made me fanboy like an idiot. haha

Watson kind of looks like a blond Albert. lol

I wonder if the next episode will cover something from the Conan Doyle books or if it'll be an original.

Great stuff again, this has easily become one of the stand out shows of this season.

The cab driver, it's always the cab driver isn't it?
I was very curious if Holmes would actually shoot Hope at the end, he seems like the character who could choose either depending on the circumstances so it's hard to predict what he might have done. I'm glad he didn't shoot him though and it was very cool when he declared that the mystery is only fun when he solves it.

Can't wait for more.

Yeah the plot play exactly as the novel. I haven't read it in years so the revelation of Hope when he drives the horse carriages is a sudden callback.

I think what missing from this show is lack of dynamics between these two detective partner. I remember how patience Watson was because Sherlock was unlikeable pricks in the novel, and I think the BBC Series is also showing the same thing as well. I know it's not very fair to compare a novel to 2 episodes of anime (but I think you could argue with BBC one). But even judging by the anime itself, these two are pretty easy-going and not much of contrast between them.

He was. He forced Lucy to marry him which led to her death (due to broken heart) and benefited from her father's death as he inherited his land.

They mentioned the trial in the manga but not in anime. It's the same with the novels, more or less. He died before he went to trial.

An original from the Doyle books but not in the manga. :)

Another great episode once again from Moriarty. The tactics and the 'ring' trap was really clever, it really goes to show how our MC wants to test how worthy Sherlock is.

That scene when Sherlock decided not to shot the murderer was probably my favorite. It goes to show how strong both Sherlock and Watson's character had become in these past two episodes. And Sherlock's resolve to solve the mysteries by himself is what makes me sold.

Moriarty and co. are impressed on Sherlock's case solving. So from now on he will be the enemy of Moriarty. And it seems like the last two episodes will be their face-off arc, it's going to be good.

Great episode as always, William tested Sherlock and they will meet again next episode.

And can't believe the last two episodes (since it's going to be 11 episodes) will be The two detectives story!! They will skip 5 chapters but I was looking forward for this so no need to wait for spring 2021 to see it.

Sherlock really loves his mysteries, he could have easily shot Hope and found out who his benefactor is, but instead he wants to figure it out himself. This show will become more entertaining to watch as we continue to see these cat-and-mouse mind games between Moriarty and Sherlock, as the latter tries to uncover the truth.

This Sherlock is hot af that’s for sure. Props to whoever designed such an eye candy.

And just like that, Sherlock solves the case exactly how Moriarty wanted him to solve. And it seems like Moriarty is thinking of including him in his next grand plan.

2 more eps left but I already can’t wait for season 2.

The plot took the different route from what i guess before. So, Holmes kept up his pursue matter by himself, and used Watson to set a trap in order to caught the real mastermind of the murder case. He actually already knew the culprit far away before the part where they laid the trap. But, he still decided to create a trap only to confirmed his deductions, via those ring. As expected as Holmes, he always one step forward from what i guess. Unfortunately, it seemed, he couldn't even predict Fred's martial arts, and how great his flexibility for that dangerous situations. Too bad, he couldn't catch him, and well, its understandable since these show still had a split cour after these one. The crime drama was not over, yet.

The conversation between Moriarty and his men was quite intriguing, by using Holmes as his leading role man toward his big plan over London. Holmes proved himself worthy to entertained Moriarty. And its indeed the beginning of their murder-crime drama without even needed any hurdle over it. Its a direct invitation from Moriarty, he and him duelling toward the cases one-by-one. Could Holmes keep satisfied themself? Well, too bad the next act is the last thing on these season. So, as expected, everything will remain unclear until the next split-cour season. Well, thank you very much!

Don't overlook what Watson said at the end, we know at the start of the show there is the original sherlock book, so why are the events different in the show so far? Maybe the events of the original story are what Watson writes? Kinda a stretch but worth a thought

Sherlock strolling into the Scotland Yard office with the culprit was kind of funny.

It is a bit of a shame that we don't get to properly see the necessary information to solve the case before Sherlock just lays it all out. I know it wasn't the main point of the episode, but still.

I am still waiting for how they'll explain Moriarty's greater plan, eventually.

A nice episode establishing a hero and villain dynamic. The plot needed to prove Sherlock's worth as an adversary to Moriarty. The schemes should get a bit more complex and action packed in the future. And the artwork was very nice as usual.... this series sets a high bar for detail and mood.

Fantastic episode, I honestly wasn't sure if Sherlock was gonna shoot or not. I thought it wouldn't be a mystery for him if he was just given the answer though, he could have still just shot him and be over with lmao it's 50/50. Sherlock is an unpredictable lad, luckily it's the first one and I honestly prefer it.

Now Moriarty has his lead actor for the stage he has set up. More Sherlock next episode and it looks like Moriarty and Sherlock will meet again. Looking forward to it.

I thought for sure Sherlock was going to shoot at Fred standing on the roof. But now that we now more about his morals and values, that'd be be pretty out of character.

I can't believe I missed the details completely! I knew it was based of the novel "A Study in Scarlet", but boy did I miss some details regarding about Jefferson Hope.

First off, I may have not read the novels, but probs should at this point, but I have seen the BBC version of the novel and that made me think of the details, first off, the killer, originally named Jefferson Hope. He assigned himself as a cab driver in order to get revenge on his wife's killer, he was suffering of a disease and didn't have much longer to live, using two pills to fool Enoch, one with no poison and one with poison.

But in this version, he didn't use that method, he shot Enoch instead which made me think of the BBC version and how similar it was to the novel, the name was Jeff Hope and was a cab driver, he lured victims with the pills (one with poison and one without) since he was also suffering of a disease and didn't have much long to live. Why didn't I notice those details before? Cab drivers through the adaptions of the novels and I couldn't see it until now. Wow.

The episode was amazing as always and the preview got me hyped for the next one~!

Hmmm, interesting; so even Sherlock Holmes is playing a role in Moriarty's plan, though unaware obviously. I'm gonna guess he wants to make a 'hero' out of Sherlock that both upper and lower classes can root for and shares the same vision as himself but without the dark side.

An elaborate test to see if Moriaty can trust Sherlock. I like that more than him just testing if Sherlock is competent enough. I’ve grown to enjoy this series more than at the start because they added the element of Sherlock to the mix.

Nice episode! Like what Holmes said, an easy mystery. Tuned out, knowing the mastermind behind these crimes stirred Holmes' interest, and would like to solve it using his own skills.

Two episodes left for this cour. Looks like Moriarty and colleagues are dirtying their hands just to cleanse their city, and are trying to make Holmes as the worthy "hero" in their stage play. I guess after they accomplished their goals, they're willing to surrender to Sherlock Holmes. Fascinating!!!

Other than two geniuses in some cat and mouse detective-criminal thing, their relationship is very different. Because William lacks Light's megalomania, and Sherlock lacks L's narrow-minded self-righteousness. There's no animosity which I find refreshing honestly. Light hated L even if he respected him, they were opposed to each other pretending to be friends in a passive-aggressive way. A small spoiler up most recent manga raw.

Moriarty seems like hes more than just wanting to change the society the fact that he need Holmes to play the role. He knows what his way is not truly righteous and perhaps wants Holmes to end him one day. Its only the question of how long this game of his will last.
