 The official website of the Dr. Stone television anime revealed a second teaser visual (pictured) and promotional video for the second season on Friday. The new season, Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, will premiere in January 2021.Dr. Stone adapts Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi's post-apocalyptic adventure sci-fi manga, which began its serialization in Weekly Shounen Jump in March 2017. Shueisha published the 16th volume on Friday. The manga has a cumulative 5 million copies of its volumes in circulation. The 24-episode first season by TMS Entertainment premiered in Summer 2019. Crunchyroll simulcast the series with subtitles, while Funimation streamed an English dub. The latter plans to release the first 12 episodes on home video on September 22. Adult Swim's Toonami programming block began airing the show on August 24 last year. VIZ Media published the first three chapters of the manga in English simultaneously with the Japanese release as a part of its Jump Start initiative and subsequently began serializing it in their digital Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
