THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Time flies man, can’t believe we’re already halfway through this season and show!

I‘m guessing based on the conversation that the guy in the limo is Hime’s mother’s father. He mentioned the disappointment Goto would feel if Hime brought home a mangaka as a boyfriend. Doesn’t sound like they’re on good terms

I think the funniest thing is that Goto sensei goes to all these lengths to prevent Hime from finding out that he’s a mangaka, but she’d be his biggest fan and would find it so cool if she knew the truth.

Hime would’ve loved to go to the book signing with her dad and see all his fans who totally weren’t hired lol

Anddd back to the timeskip.. they’ve been blue balling us with this for about 4 weeks now, I NEED to know what happens to her dad. It’s breaking my heart seeing these boxes and the old house. I need answers! It’s going to break my heart :(((

Another really good episode! Can’t wait for next week

Hime with a hat is just the cutest thing ever. Same with her little chef hat while cooking.

I have to say, this episode not only entertained me by the humorous human reactions of our cast but also Hime just acting like how a kid should be. Kakushi and Hime continues to add in more character chemistry in this show that I find pretty entertaining especially with Kakushi's clever plans.

But on the top of that, I find this School Rucksack episode bringing an unique charm to the show's environment.

I liked this episode more than the rest so far, the ending was solid. But even so, saying its better than the rest doesn't mean I liked the episode on its own. Still pretty boring but the comedy didn't bash me over the head as much as before and the ending was good.

A school rucksack from Kakushi to Hime, what a delight, but this random stranger called Naoto Date keeps interfering in the dad's ways and sending them on Hime's way. The dazzling guy in the expensive car, what's his deal with Kakushi?

And being corporate livestock/slaves, it's just hilarious seeing all of Kakushi's workers having their purpose in this do-or-die endless chain of getting MORE work and keeping each other busy (at least for Goto-sensei).

And oh God, to miss quality time with Hime at Kidzania over work? Oh no no, that's a sin for a parent! Even a compromise a.k.a signing event won't do if Hime finds out an inch about it. Seriously, Tomaruin, you just keep ruining Goto-sensei like you'd heck care the events are a failure or success, either it goes both ways xD but hilariously bad for the father whose work does not get any recognition HAHA

...or at least he so thinks, because his mangaka work is beloved by a small fanbase a.k.a cult following and confidence BOOST! And what a close shave for Goto as Hime almost caught him out. Literally a jumpseater moment.

Most importantly...the cliffhanger of the grownup Hime eventually knowing and scouraging through Kakushi's manga, that encloses a family? Now I'd really want to know what's going on between the Kakushi, Hime and their mother.

Pretty good episode, full of fun and laughter, whilst the cliffhangers bringing in the buildup of the emotional drama as we go on.

Another great episode.
I was happy to see the author's passion for his work in this episode, it felt like the author became Kakushi.
The ending was so sad though.

Perfectly, each episode causes both joy and sadness at the same time, the moments with matured Hime turned out to be very emotional.
Ichiko did well, quickly reacted and covered Kakushi from his failure.

I can definitely say that I missed this kind of anime in the past years and I wasn't even aware of it before this came. Everything just fits and it's so great to see a relationship between family (in this case the dad) and their daughter/son. I just love this, please give me more...

It was such a nice line to read; "I'm given the privilege to raise her" which is so true, I would feel the same way. It is actually great to see Hime practicing various jobs in a fun but educative way, that's so smart! And Hime, the entrance fee would be more than what you gave your Dad, but believe me, your present is priceless. And let's talk about Kakushi doing the autograph and realizing they are actually his fans and see their smile when they receive it, this is just so wholesome!!

That ending hurts... I'm here still hoping for a positive ending ;_;

Funny episode again with good ol deluded Goto. I guess for many managaka or creators in general, it must feel unreal that there are so many fans who got moved by your work.

Even with the comedy in this episode it was a more serious episode then usual.

I think it was pretty obvious even before he showed up that it was Hime's Grandparents (Turns out it was Grandfather) who was sending her backpacks. Looks like He was against his Daughter Marrying Kakushi. Pretty clear after that conversation they had. Also my guess is the painting and the Painter that was mentioned by kakushi was done by Kakushi's father in law.

Frick man the end up this episode though T_T

Side note: Sensei is a Hero in this anime. I like her more and more each week.

Next week though we get to see the dog finally!

I don't know why but I really like this anime. Slice of life-type anime that is really simple outside but really meaningful inside. Become a single parent is really hard, especially for a man. Some people say that daughter's first love is his father and I really get the point that Gotou-sensei is trying really hard to become the best image for Hime and yeah, it's really really meanigful. So far, I really enjoy this anime, really, some scene maybe almost impossible to happen but I think that's only an example or maybe an image how you can make your own child really proud of you. Hahaha, this anime really touches my heart, eve though I didn't have child yet, haha.

After the conversation of the man in the car with Kakushi, is certain that he's Hime's granfather, and he was against his daughter marrying him lol.

The teacher really saved Kakushi's secret from being revealed. Talk about good timing. Loved how at the end the people that went to the autograph event ended being true fans of Kakushi's manga.

Of course, the sad ending was obligatory.

Really funny episode this week. Happy to see Sensei getting love from his fans.

The juggling between assistants to watch Hime was hilarious.

It appears the relationship between Kakushi and his In-Laws are complicated to say the least.

But man I am dying to know what happens during the present day. Is Kakushi really dead? I hoenstly hope not. Hime doesn't deserve that heartbreak.

this ep was definitely a lot less over the top than the rest of them for sure. I'm curious who the old dude was, Hime's grandfather?

As other mentioned, this episode was great. One of the main things I like about this show is just how great the whole atmosphere of the episode feels. The comedy was great (Been a while since I've laughed out loud). The ending was solid, although it pretty much confirms the worst.

Also, Hime was so cute in that chef uniform I cant

Such an amazing anime, the whole episode is wholesome asf but the end kills you

I don't believe (or I don't want to believe) that sensei is dead, what I instead think is that he might've lost custody over her somehow because of her relatives on the mothers' side or something along those lines

Why do they always end such an adorable, funny and nice show with some heartbreaking, depressing scenes of grown up Hime lonely checking her boxes in empty house?
This show is like roller coaster for your feelings, you are laughing and melting cause of cutest Hime and you are crying cause you know Hime is probably an orphan in the future, but i really hope she is not.

Here is my theory based on what happened to her dad based on this episode. I think that the dad is still alive. The reason why she is crying wishing for that kind of life at the end of the episode is because of her grandpa, who at some point took her away from her dad to raise her himself, which is why she seems so emotionless when she is older. They will reunite in the end, as seen in the ED.

This ep has continued to expand the understanding of Goto's story and I love it. The conversation with the man in the limo is highly likely his in-law, and I can't help but feel he is also referencing him when talking about the famous painter with the editor. This added a nice splash of drama to a usually comedic segment.

And those damn ending scenes... That mundane life... Stop toying with me pls.

The man in the car is probably Hime's grandfather on her mother's side. The man mentioned Goto-sensei bearing a grudge against him, so maybe it's the man's fault Hime's mother is gone?

At that moment when Hime saw her father in normal clothes and lying on the ground, it feels not that possible for her to have not recognized her own father. Is she hiding the fact that she knows?

Yet another hilarious episode.

It seems that the guy who kept sending her backpacks was her grandfather, her mother's father. And it seems he's not on good terms with Kakushi. It's because of how Kakushi works as a mangaka with a manga titled 'Balls of Fury'. Kakushi himself wouldn't want somebody like that for Hime. But I think he should see himself, if somebody like Kakushi who is so loving and caring for both his late wife and his child would become Hime's husband, even if he did draw something like 'Balls of Fury', wouldn't that be okay? What's the point of a 'prestigious' job if the guy's a jerk?

Hime is as cute as always.

And as always too, the end of the episode broke my heart. So her words basically confirmed that Kakushi has passed away. Those tears along with her monologue was a stab in my heart. "But that mundane life is all I've ever dreamed of." She no doubt misses her mother and father so much.

What happened to Kakushi...

I just remembered in the first or second episode when Kakushi's assistants watched as Hime opened the old house. It's great that Kakushi, although not the best boss, seems to have such loyal and caring assistants who is still watching over Kakushi's daughter even after he's gone.

Can't believe it's already halfway.
