THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well, after KITE I expected a bit more, I'm a little disappointed. The action scenes were nicely done but something was missing (I'm not talking about the hentai part from the prequel), it didn't really feel like KITE. 7/10 |

And there I thought it'd be only natural that you'd watch a prequel first before the show that's the sequel to it. |

So is there going to be a second part? The ending leaves you with so-many unanswered questions. I also watched the prequel first, so am I right in guessing that Sawa was her co-worker? If so who is the father of her kid Oburi or Akai, it never actually showed Oburi and Sawa do anyhting, but there is a chance. |

Yeah I was wondering about that second part too, but I couldn't find any info in it anywhere. |

Same here, I was kinda disappointed too. The action was good, but it didn't felt like KITE at all. This is more like a lighted version of KITE. 7/10. Is this going to have a second movie? Because it didn't felt like it was the last episode. |

8/10 cute girl by day, cute killer by night Monaka is so cute. I really miss the hardcore sex scenes because I don't think it would be Kite without sex and violence. Will Monoka end up killing her father? Doesn't look like it from the ending. Maybe Sawa will be hired to kill him and we will have a face-off between Monaka and Sawa, assuming we get another OVA. If we don't get another OVA, I'll probably lower a point. The prequel had sex scenes and still managed to offer a better ending then Liberator. |

I just saw both Kite's today. I give the original a 4, and this one an 8. The original... Gahh. It was a bit... low-budget :/ While the second episode of the first Kite improved it, it was still pretty... I dunno. I really enjoyed this one, however. Monaka is awesome, and it was much more professional methinks. I also hope for another OVA, as there is a lot that wasn't answered. I think if you've seen the first Kite, it creates MORE questions in Liberator, than if you just watched Liberator. =P But yes. Kite Liberator>Kite, in my opinion. |

For cereal? That's pretty awesome then. Especially if the next 3 live up to the quality of Liberation. Especially not if the next one is another 10 years from now. |

A thing I didn't like is that everything hast to ridiculously explode somehow... just like in Kite, where they could disarm people by shooting their guns off the hand without injuring them. I really doubt that this is possible (well, correct me if I'm wrong... never held a gun let alone shot a gun before ^^) Anyway, I think it is enjoyable though. There has to be a second part imo. This first OVA started so many actions, like that police officer wanting to date Monaka. I thought it would be interesting to see what happens if he found out that she is actually the Angel of Death. Also, I wonder who the manager actually is since he seems to know the things which happened in Kite... |

gee.... no sawa... , space crap and some stupid monsters i really cant stand that it would've been much better with the real sawa and even better if that other killer guy from the first "kite" would've survived... i guess i'd given 1 higher rating if i wasnt so hyped when i heard there'd be a sequel to kite as just another story i'd given it a 8 or so, now just 7 |

gtfo of my kite Liberator unrealistic monster. Well, it was good stuff, but it doesn't live up to the awesomeness that was Kite. I would be in heaven to here another part to this ova, as the ending was just way too open. Just as i was getting so into it, the credits role -__-''... Overall, 7/10. Although that is on my harsher rating system now, in the past i may have given it a 8/10 then lowered to a 7/10 in the future. Kite was far better story wise, being something different from everything else at the time. This was just a generic sci-fi normal girl by day killer by night story really, and that's it. |

During the movie I always thought.. when will something interesting happen... <.< The animation was really good but the story was really screwed...Though, I liked the link between Kite and Liberator with the gun... but the rest.. nothing really exciting actually happens... we don't know about the relationship with the policeman and that her father has turned into a space monster.. come on! that's not creative at all.. I just thought WTF! Seemed like I watched the wrong movie... And theoverdose of explosions... if there isn't a prequel it's not really more than a 6/10 and the 6 it only gets because of the animation... the rest really sucked |

I gave it a 5/10 I loved Kite but this storyline was seriously lacking a backbone when it came to the violence. The storyline made no sense......none at all. I would have liked a bit of a background story as to why Monaka became an assassin (which Yasuomi Umetsu did in Kite and did very well)...that would have at least made the story half way more interesting. The whole space monster factor was not needed at all.....it made the storyline rather....boring. The only threads keeping this story alive was the gun that was used by Sawa and pedophila (which was used in the orignal Kite ) played a minor role. The ending didn't surprised me at all..... Yasuomi Umetsu did the same thing with Kite....he makes you want more to the story.......which is the reason why I even wanted to watch this. |

Kinda disappointed with this i have to say. Not really what I was expecting, I mean, from just assassins to space creatures? And why no Sawa? |

When it got to the ending and the credits starting rolling i'm like WTF!!!! IT ENDS THERE?!!!! Ending was very open, Open like the Elfen Lied Ending, for example. Still, the Gun Kicks Ass. Bullets that Explode while inside the person. They should have that in other types of Anime, but then Kite wouldn't me an "Oriignal" Series then. I'm glad when i heard they were making more episodes. I just hope it won't take 10 years (from the date when 1st Kite episodes and this OVA came out). |

The way she was able to read her moves and was good with a knife. I think it was supposed to be an ambiguous allusion. But yeah I agree pretty sure the co-worker was the previous protagonist. |

If her coworker is indeed Sawa from Kite, then I guess her being a single mother would be another nail in the coffin for Oburi. |

I really liked Kite so Liberator was a huge let down. I gave Kite an 8/10 simply rated kind of down for the unnecessary graphic sex scenes. Kite: Liberator gets a 6/10 from me. What kind of ending was that?! Now, if there will be more OVAs made, I can see myself maybe upping it to a 7/10. Strife91 said: Yuunagi said: If her coworker is indeed Sawa from Kite, then I guess her being a single mother would be another nail in the coffin for Oburi. Haha. Yeah, but the question is,; who the heck is the father????? OUCH! LOL I think her coworker is Sawa and that Oburi is the father. Sadly, I don't think Oburi lived through that. I'll have to go back and rewatch Kite to remember exactly what happened because it's been a while though. |

I actually liked this very much, except the ending is disappointing. And that one man is so selfish, he poisons people with disgusting food, makes a monster, and crashes into buildings and kills inocent people, and yet all he had to say was 'thank god i'm alive, its not my fault' glad he died. |

So the red gun really was used by Sawa, hmmm.... Yuunagi said: If her coworker is indeed Sawa from Kite, then I guess her being a single mother would be another nail in the coffin for Oburi. Well yeah, literally, if you put it that way, LOL. Strife91 said: Yeah, but the question is,; who the heck is the father????? It could be Oburi and I really wish it so but you can't rule out Akai, he's been screwing Sawa long before Sawa and Oburi met each other. >_< It's been two years after that 2008 sequel announcement, oh well there's nothing to do but wait. |

Dumb scifi monster tragedy, cop-boyfriend subplot that added nothing, random things exploding, yet cool action and great protagonist. With that end and the loose threads, definitely seems like there was meant to be more, too. Totally different from the first, but equally hard to rate. Also, given the fact that Sawa went through so much sexual abuse, I doubt she and Oburi would have considered consummating anything, especially within 24 hours. Then again, since I doubt Akai ever used condoms, for Sawa to not have gotten pregnant ages ago would have required infertility on his side or the pill(or infertility/other birth control) on hers. So I find it more likely that Mukai just isn't Sawa. |

the other maid worker being Sawa seems possible, just need something related to the original Kite the actions were good, Monaka is an ok hero, the monster design is bad and the ending is unsatisfying |

Oh wow that ending I was like SHIT, what a huge cliffhanger! Been a long time that I've seen this good of a cliffhanger! But really this was quite impressive, I didn't really enjoyed the hentai prequel but this sequel really made me want to rewatch it! Definitely was one hell of an awesome ride and just loved the whole atmosphere! |

I was really enjoying that until it ended abruptly in the middle of a scene without any directorial or allegorical reason to end where it did. What was Umetsu trying to do, pull a Berserk on us? |

I'd rather have a direct sequel with Sawa than this. It focused on all the wrong parts with minimal action. The whole thing with the monsters was just random and bad. Guess it'll be forever left unfinished, but I don't mind that as it would still be bad anyway. |
