Ah, I guess you can never underestimate how far an individual is willing to go to achieve their goals.

This epsiode took on a dark turn imo under the sakura tree blossoms. It's one of those episodes that a character is willing to do anything to obtain what they want.

I must say, getting to hear about those stories is interesting, and it's also nice how they try to relate the writers' life (which I know nothing of XD).

A question: why Oda said it's his fault and also Ango said "only two months after we drank..." what happened exactly?

An angsty episode with a tragic story and... I felt nothing. Nothing of the plot or characters. You don't have to be an expert on Japanese literature to watch this but even so, it's still bland. Guess that's going to be the running theme of this show: Beautiful but bland.

According to this story, they're the real authors that existed in our history, but are now living in a fantasy setting. I like that concept and I like the execution so far. But, I don't like the designs. The characters look like idols, and that messes with my suspension of disbelief.

Just like Bungou Stray Dogs, Dazai was in a bar with two other guys. Was that thing taken from reality?

we finally get to see the Lupin crew back together ;_____; i miss my bois ango, dazai, and odasaku. lovely story by ango, i want to read the original work. i love how they tied it into the loneliness of the author and since i watched bsd, it really displays well the thematics.

chuuya and odasaku's interaction is something i never knew i needed <3

Although we part as I leave for Inaba,
where pines grow on the moutain peaks
If I am to hear that you pine for me
I shall come back to you again

So the bar thing... not really sure myself but the Buraiha (Ango, Dazai, Odasaku with other ppl included in it sometimes) were known to kind of be delinquent radical weirdos??? And had a reputation for drinking in bars and having sexual relationships???
(Taken from Wikipedia and a bunch of other websites stating they used wikipedia...)
And the BunAl wiki says that Ango and Chuuya had a fight at a bar once....
And that Ango once mistook OdaSaku's wife for a prostitute while he, OdaSaku, and Dazai were all drunk?? (The BunAl wiki has some wacky stories.. like the one guy who got run over by a train and lived....)

I have no idea... did they have a fallout or something?? Was it because OdaSaku died in 1947 and then Dazai was super upset only to die a year later while Ango lived until 1955? Idek.... who know at this point... I'm kinda upset I can't find reliable English sources about the authors...

Yeah, that's the only thing I found... accent that there's an actual connection between Oda's and Dazai's death...

Under the Sakura tree that blossoms...this show's still an literate mess, as it pains me emotionally with immense boredness.

That's kinda the running gag with this show, sad to say.

If there's so much for the authors to understand their own backstories and change it due to evildoers of a simple "good vs. evil" plot, there should be something better than this. Not a nitpick, but yea...

Waiting for Episode 4, 3 weeks later (May 8), I'm just gonna wait to see the future in store.

I wish there was a manga for this because the game isn't available in English or my region. The pacing for the anime so far is very fast, so it's hard to develop any empathy towards the characters. I love that's it's based off of real Japanese authors and the story of the anime is interesting with the character dynamics and backgrounds, but again, hard to really connect with because we don't get a chance to learn much about the characters and REALLY care for them.

Looking forward to further story and character development as more episodes air. Hopefully with the first few episodes out of the way where they introduced the world and its rules, it can slow down a little bit and give us a chance to truly grasp and appreciate everything.

Wise lesson to be learned never fall in love with a crazy woman that loves to collect decapitated heads of the innocent for her collection. Ango new clothing looks pretty cool.
