I've noticed, that outside of the first episode, the cast from "Shield Heroes" seem to be more background characters in not just the show, but also the Opening of the series.

So that makes me wonder...are they just gonna be background characters and the anime will just focus on the already established 4 casts of characters?

Seems likely since they were never even transferred to the same class. So the interaction with them would be minimal at least, and personally, I don't really care.

Naofumi's group isn't really interesting or funny, so it's better this way

They should not add them if they are not focusing on them.
I wish i could see more of Naofumi they are so interesting and fun to watch.

I'm fine with that, they're boring and wouldn't add anything good to the show.
Futari wa Milky Holmes was a mistake
Yoshii did nothing wrong

I can see how a good chemistry can be built among the 4 MC of each anime here, but Naofumi, I don't think that can fit with them, he's like living in his own bubble, surrounded by Raph and Filo only. Unlike the rest. So I think it's a wise move to make the Tate's cast in the background not in the main cast.

I was personally disappointed when Naofumi,Raphtalia and Filo were not entered into the main cast The Rising of the Shield Hero is a great anime and i love watching Naofumi and his party

I guess it does makes sense though that they are just a "guest" to this show and to me it's pretty upsetting to see their limited time screen !!

I sware the people who say this are delusional. Most of the IQ cast are not funny by themselves. They merely play off of each other. Only the Konosuba cast really has that natural comedic relief.

Overlord's group is pretty funny, especially with the waifu war surrounding Ainz
Youjo Senki's group is also quite funny, even if it entirely relies on Tanya Degurechaff
Re:Zero's group is a bit less funny, at least just by itself, but Subaru's interactions with the other characters is pretty funny too

The thing is, all the original members from the quartets have an interesting character writing in their own animes, meanwhile Rising of the Shield Hero's cast is very...well, generic, even in its own universe

That's literally the only thing Overlord has in terms of comedy and where does it really lead besides being a singular gag? Ains and pretty much all of his companions range from moderately evil to pure evil and yet here they are in a gag comedy.
Tanya is admittedly sortof funny at times, though it's mostly from her wits that bites her in the ass once everything backfires on her. They haven't even used that in the comedy in IQ yet.
"A bit less" literally no comedy besides Subaru being his quirky self.

That jus tseems like incredible bias. I mean, most of the characters you listed are one-note, and somehow the SH cast are the only generic ones. Naofumi works great as a straightman, Raphtalia has a lot of potential with Rem and Albedo...and Filo is a giant bird that talks. She doesn't need to be comedy, comedy can come from her merely interacting with the other characters. Hell, this most recent episode was the weakest of the three IMO. How the characters are used is what's important, not what they brought to their original series.

Well, I guess that's personal then
Maybe TNY characters are on the same level as the others (or even better) in an objective way, but personally I like them less than the others
I wait for them to prove themselves in the later episodes, but so far we barely even saw them in the first 3 episodes, and only 2 of their scenes made me laugh so far (when Naofumi closed the door at the first episode, and when he ignored Aqua's distress in the latest episode)

Aside from naofumi being a dry character overall, i think saying that the other characters are funny because they play off each other is the big point.

Naofumi’s whole thing is he doesn’t trust and doesn’t want to innteract with people. Basically him avoding interaction is the one joke they can play with him and what they did in the two episode he was in, and that’s not really funny for long.

I’d bet when they do have another episode focused on him, it’ll be something like everybody trying to drag him into shenanigans only for him to refuse, but by the end he’ll get dragged in anyway and crack a small smile by the end which may or may not be seen be everyone else.

Aside from that i really can’t see any interaction with naofumi really working.

Even though I love Shield hero and Raphtalia, I do think it's good for them to stay as background characters. The quartet mcs already have good chemistry.
Also, they could add more isekai MCs in future seasons as background characters and not damage the already Quartet format. So I believe it was smart for them to do that.

Probably just different tastes. Someone disagreeing with you is not delusional. Most of time. Comedy is intrinsically subjective after all. I personally find Naofumi kinda bland, he is also fairly anti-social, untrusting, brooding. Not much comedy material here. The other characters could of worked. Also I enjoyed this episode more than the 1st and 3rd (cockcroach dude is way too creepy) episodes. Maybe I am delusional.

What would've been fun is if they had taken the characters as they were in the spear hero spin-off, that would've been hilarious.

A nice naofumi trying to rein in a 'don't give a fuck about anything but fillorial' motoyasu.

Well, the show is still called "Quartet". There is that and personally other than Filo, I don't think any Shield Hero casts can interact as funny as the other 4 worlds' casts, mainly Naofumi. Although Raphtalia would probably fit with Albedo and Rem with how they're so head over heels for their respective MC.

Shield Hero characters actually have more screentime in the promo teaser than in the intire 2nd season episodes.
