| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Damn, now I found this episode pretty thrilling right from the start. The survival vibes I'm getting with Yoshitake fighting to survive with the others is really thrilling. For some moments, I almost thought he wasn't going to make it. I kinda underestimated this show's technology. We got some automatic guns in this timeline which is pretty cool. Nikaidou's new leg looks priceless LOL |

Sugimoto had a really sharp looking face at that moment... He could kill anyone with such glare. This show is getting interesting, I was reading the manga but I haven't reached this point yet (I'm pretty far away from reaching it tho) |

| Nikaidous fall out and the moment where everyone considered to abandon Shiraishi. So much comedy gold xD But I honestly didn't expect that Shiraishi would be this afraid to return. Also great interactions between our alliance again. Love it how the suspense slightly increases. This show is so good. |

| The tonal shifts in this show have always been a little odd, but this was perhaps one of the weirdest examples yet. Still, it was funny and actually worked quite well, even alongside the rest of the episode's more serious content. |

| Once again, Golden Kamuy shows just how much you can change the tonal shifts between serious and comedic and actually make it work without detracting the enjoyment from the episode itself. The standout moment of the episode was the humorous scene at the hospital with Nikaidou as he's been given a new leg that can shoot bullets, as demonstrated by the slight nutjob of a weapons guy. The comedy was weird and random, but that's what I love about that scene in general. ^_^ The serious part of saving Shiraishi is getting pretty interesting. Although Sugimoto has got his suspicions spot on about Shiraishi's betrayal from before, everyone must work together and put their differences aside to save Shiraishi from the 27th Division. It's going to be pretty interesting to see if their plan of rescuing Shiriashi will work, but I'm sure we'll find the odd humorous scenes dotted around in the next episode as usual. =) |

I don't mind the comedy at all, and I can appreciate a show that shifts like this in between episodes or even scenes, but it really wasn't like this at all the first season. Though this season is enjoyable to watch on its own, in a way I feel robbed of a true sequel. |

| Oh man, I laughed a lot during this episode. I literally bursted out laughing when Tsurumi pushed that creepy dude away out of nowhere since I thought he was the one who wanted to talk to Nikaidou xD And also, the conversation between Tsurumi and the gun seller was very funny as well. Besides that, the whole infiltration plan seems very interesting and I'm really looking forward to seeing how that will turn out. P.S.: I'm really surprised and I'll say it again. The way this show is so capable of combining both hilarious and tense moments is incredible. Despite the amount of comedy gold moments during this ep., the last minutes of tension felt absolutely credible to me. So yeah, props to the show. |
| like many others are saying, I am amazed at how well this series can go from a totally comedic scene to totally serious so seamlessly. this episode was one of the best examples, the whole scene with Nikaidou in the hospital was pure comedy, then we get a tense scene at the end where Sugimoto finds out that Shiraishi betrayed him and has to decide what he should do about it. this is by far one of the best new anime this year if you ask me. a lot of people are missing out. |
| Wow, they are really cutting a lot out of the manga and just going for the short and direct way with this anime. In the manga, the Sugimoto group went through a lot of shenanigans which found them the con artist convict before dragging him along to meet up with Hijikata's group. In the anime they cut out that subplot (again) and changed it to Hijikata going "Oh look, I found a convict who's a con artist, how convenient!". That was a good subplot story in the manga they cut out too. I hope this doesn't continue too much. Wonder how they'll handle the entertaining subplot where they visit a hotel at night and are attacked. Hopefully not another "Oh look, another convict with the skills we really need!" and that's it. If you haven't read the manga, please read it. It's really good and the anime is cutting out a lot. I still enjoy watching this though! |

| Cool episode. It really gave off the Golden Kamuy Season 1 vibes by seamlessly shifting gears from comedy to seriousness in the split of a second. Hospital scene and the introduction of the Lt mastering in weapon manufacture were very funny. Sugimoto figuring out Shiraishi’s two-timing was epic, if not for Asirpa he might actually have decided to forget about him or kill him. Looks like Shiraishi’s fears may not be far-fetched anymore. What a way to get caught though, xD, and old man Hijikata as the candy seller sure gave him a sudden unexpected spook. I’m curious to know what the convo between Hijikata and the Ainu(maybe not Ainu, but who knows as of now) was like, I was surprised that the episode didn’t come back to it. |

| Sugimoto already knows about Shiraishi so Shiraishi better fess up and take his ass-whoppin'. Anyways, the best part was the hospital encounter with that random person approaching Nikaidou, he was so scared and then Tsurumi just pushed him aside. Who is that person anyway? I enjoyed Arisaka's appearance, he's a crazy but talented old man. The way Tsukishima reacted to him was pretty funny. Also, I wonder if anyone caught why Ienaga kept mentioning 'flay' he has a penchant for flaying people lol like how they slipped that in. |

| This show is funny af. I love how it switches between serious and very strange comedy, the creepy dude in the hospital that was walking towards Nikadou was great. It just makes the show so enjoyable to watch because of the laughs lmao |
| Who-the-fuck-are-you guy was so unexpectedly hilarious. Why Tsurumi has so much comedy moments? I don't even know whether it's supposed to make him less intimidating or more. Now the truth about Shiraishi is out, I wonder what Sugimoto will do. But Shiraishi is like the best puppy dude, oh, those moments when everyone recalled his stupid face, it'd be so sad not to save him. |

| LMAO that part when Lt. Tsurumi pushed the random guy was so damn funny. In the manga he kinds of just sends the guy on his own path, but in the anime we could even hear the sound of the guy probably smashing into some chair/bed lol. Some hilarious stuff, but they're skipping more and more parts of the manga and it makes me rather sad. |

| Lol this episode once again had a lot of good comedic moments, while smoothly transitioning to really serious moments. Looks like Sugimoto has confirmed that Shiraishi is working with Hijikata, so his funny nightmare from last episode might end up coming true lol. |
