THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Meeting a tribe using the twins as communication learned that there's weakness to Godzilla. A member suggested an area with factory that has that chemical. Learning and struggle. Sakurai-san's character mentioning about that omen... That member's goal was to become one with the factory to become beyond human in order to defeat Godzilla? It seems like the plan was working, but it didn't explode! It is heating! Mamo's character gave up and the area destroyed. Later it seems like the omen thing is "Godora". Part 3 on November 9. |

I thought I was watching Knights of Sidonia with those mecha scenes. The Godzilla battle was awesome. I can't wait for the next movie! :D |

Uhh wut? Ghidora? They haven't even defeated Godzilla yet and a bunch of them died and we're already talking about a stronger enemy? Damn. But to be honest I kinda liked this movie. |

not much action but the dialogues are awesome i especially like the talk about in order to defeat monsters you need to abandon your humanity and become a monster too lol but Haruo decided against that ideology to rescue his girlfriend but damn in the end his girlfriend died and Godzilla is still alive nanomachines are cool too and use good on this movie and lol i was expecting a real Mecha-Godzilla but that did not show up next up Ghidorah |

Better than the first, obviously setting up King Ghidorah and Mothra (with all the bug references). Looking kinda forward to the third and final part. |

Yes, this 2nd Movie is better than the previous one... The twins are cute though, one is calmer and the other glares a lot... lol Yuko gets jealous when Haruo talk to them... oh man, I thought we get to see MechaGodzilla in this movies but nope. Here MechaGodzilla City. The nanomachine is really cool. Of course those mecha-holic so excited when they see that big city made full of nanomachines. They then use the technology to upgrade their robot. Into a freaking Freedom Gundam. lmao. It went Burst Mode too The idea to becomes one with the MechaGodzilla city is really freaking me out. You need to evolve too to beat the big Godzilla Oh hell no Biluzaludonian. It seems Haruo survive from turning into nanomachines because of that 'bugs' medicine from the tribe. Too bad Yuko died. Or is she?? Gonna wait for the next/finale part. The priest talks about Ghidora too. Wonder how will this ends. |

Oooh nooo, our dull heroine dies. Mostly interesting movie, but I feel that all the build up in the first 50-60 minutes is too much without providing a fully satisfying third act comparatively. I wasn't bored per se, but they could have achieved more with this runtime. That being said, I absolutely loved the final fight. This is why I watch anime productions by Polygon Pictures; their action scenes are a sight to behold and a feast for the ears. I really wish we'd get another TV anime from them, like Sidonia no Kishi or Ajin. 7/10. I would give it a 6,5 if I could, but +0.5 for the stellar animation throughout and the badass action finale. |

This was definitely way better than the first movie, but I don't quite understand what Metphies meant when he said their battle was beyond things like fear and grief especially when Metphies rejected the Bilusaludo's overly logical worldview. |

This was significantly better than the first movie. I've been waiting to watch this forever because I wanted to check it out with my bf, but he hated the first movie, so I just it off. It was really decent. I liked the whole aspect of the humanoid tribe and how they may have evolved from insects. That was really cool and interesting. I didn't understand their whole "religion" and "worship" thing, because they don't worship Godzilla, right? At the point where they speak to Haruo and everyone, they talk about speaking to the Egg, and how that was all they had left. Godzilla killed whoever they worshipped? Hoping Mothra makes an appearance next movie lol A little sad that the only black characters, a species called Bilusaludo, were lacking in emotion and as cool as they were, basically sacrificed themselves in some strange philosophy. Strangely Kantian/Utilitarian. I was really excited about the nanometal and MechaGodzilla, but wow, that was kind of disappointing. I can't believe that the whole plan of the Bilusaludo was to let the nanometal take over Earth... for what reason? Why not just let Godzilla rule if you're going to abandon your individuality anyway? So it was obvious what Haruo's choice would be, to take down Godzilla with a kamikaze move, or destroy Belu-be and the nanometal headquarters to stop the spread of it. Meh. Giving it a 7 or 8/10 based on the world building. So much better than the first movie. |

Somehow the dialogue is even worse. Story is slightly better than the previous film but still bad. |

Liked it way more than the first movie (that one was a 2 from me so anything is better lol), for real though, this one wasn't that bad and i felt the atmosphere better and understood most of the story. And for some reason it reminded me of the avatar movie with the high intelligent village tribe lol. I liked the twins the most, finally someone likable compared to season 1 lol. MC is a bit likable too i guess. I liked how MC managed to recognize the twins, like: "she glares more so this is not the girl that saved me" and then the meeting with the rest of the village and the twins connecting to some sort of?? motherboard? if i can call it this lol, but it managed to transfer their thoughts telepathically to the rest of the soldiers since they can't understand the language and all that, so it automatically translated it, pretty cool. And then they followed MC and the group, watching over them from the shadows, pretty sweet... MC's speech to persuade the rest of the group on how they have to fight Godzilla or they will never forgive themselves for abandoning Earth was great, really liked the charisma he was emitting. The hypothesis of why monsters appeared was great. So basically, because of how much humans ruin Earth, with all the intoxication, carbon dioxide that keeps ruining the atmosphere. I understand experiments are important and all, but think of repurcussions to the atmosphere. So now, Earth is done with humans and wants Godzilla to replace them, hence it created monsters. Well that was a hypothesis and not the real fact, but still, really cool. The mechagodzilla nanomachine stuff... was weird. But i found it weird how it just started creating the city by itself... i guess i dont know shit about nanomachines. But then nanomacihnes started consuming humans and what's more weird is that part of the group was ok with that??? I guess the best part of the movie is that there werent really any antagonists, you'd choose your own side depending on your perception. I personally found guys combinining with nanomachines and abandoning their humanity not to fully be in the wrong. In their minds it's the best way to defeat Godzilla, so the sacrifice is worth it. But i understand MC and others who didnt want to combine even more... Who wants to lose your humanity anyway... |

I liked this one a lot more than the first one as the characters feel more memorable. The 'logical' Bilusaludo were definitely a crazy bunch for assimilating with nanometal, the Exif especially Metphies also seem rather shady. Got the feeling another Kaiju will appear in the next movie given egg the Houtua tribe are worshipping must be there for a reason. |

Wow this one was way better than Godzilla 1: Kaijuu Wakusei. The Bilusaludo race may be 'logical' but they definitely were crazy. The mechagodzilla city/nanometal city twist was pretty darn good. The characters felt....better? than before. Also loved the different references. Like the dust the Houtua tribe use must be Mothra powder of some sorts. It had healing properties and defied the properties of nanometal. Also they must have worshipped Mothra in the past who might have died in a battle with Godzilla and left behind the 'Egg' which will be it's reincarnation. Then Metphies of the Exif tribe told Haruo about the godly being that brought destruction upon their home planet. A being far greater in power than Godzilla. And that is King Ghidorah (and this one is not just any Ghidorah, it's infinitely long, glowing, and kinda claps Godzilla tbh.) The Houtua tribe twins were good characters too but I didn't really understand how they fully communicated with the humans for a while. Also is Yuko dead due to the nanometal transfusion? |

I am in line with the Bilusaludo kind of thinking. If I'm given the chance, I too would like to discard my body & individuality and become part of a gestalt intelligence. I don't mind becoming part of a greater whole. I find Individuality to be a hassle anyways. I find the MC irritating. He reminds me of typical pro-humans who value our current way of life and thinking. Just look around you where that kind of thinking has brought us all. An overpopulated world on the brink of collapse. Humans are indeed an inferior race. Haruo showcased that perfectly. He let emotions rule him and he chose illogically. I guess it's to make movie 3 possible. That battle gave me Armored Core 4/5 vibes. The Vulture design kinda looks similar to an AC too. This movie is actually better than the first, but I dislike how pro-human it is. Choosing love and individuality over destroying the immediate threat. That is so BS. 6/10 |
