 Persona 5 the Animation: The Day Breakers special event Junkissa LeBlanc Yaneura Sakusen Kaigi was held on Sunday and announced that a TV anime series of the previously broadcast TV special will be aired in 2018. The game cast members will reprise in the TV anime series, in addition to the cast members that already appeared in the TV special. | I quite enjoyed P4 anime so I would go for another one but seeing as it's going to be made by A1... to say the least it will probably look as bland and anime can get with really lazy fight animation. Not really something that you would want from Persona anime I guess. Even A1 can get out of their bland safe zone of mediocrity and make something decent like Grimgar by accident so maybe it will happen again. |

| Having already beaten the game a few weeks ago, I'm VERY happy that Persona 5 will be getting a TV animation series. As long as it has a 2-cour run and with consistent animation from A-1, then I'll be satisfied. =) |

| The game's visual style probably won't translate well into anime, at least I don't remember Daybreakers being the level of stylistic that the game was unless they change it up for the anime and that's not something I see A-1 doing, the opening maybe. Though we still need more details on production. |

| I'm excited! Not because of the anime, but because we'll be getting a canon name for the MC. That being said, we'll probably get that once the unavoidable Persona 5 Dancing All Night comes out XD I would've said "You'll never see it coming" here, but I did see this coming. A-1 did a decent job with the Persona 3 movies, but messed up the Golden anime. Ehh, as long as it's 2 cour, they can get through the story. Tbh, there's not much story to cover since main story moments come ever so often. As long as they adapt Morgana forcing the MC got to sleep, or the MC "button-mashing" Morgana, I'll be satisfied with the adaptation. They should adapt the game like how I play it, romancing all of the female characters... only to get trashed on Valentine's Day XD Also, please don't make the character designs as shitty as it was in the special. |

As someone else pointed out, this is a 90+ hour game that will be condensed into 12 episodes. It's simply impossible to fit any meaningful scenes into that space. I can almost guarantee they'll mess up the reveal of the villain, too. The writing of the story is completely different from Persona 4's to the point where making it a proper anime would already be somewhat difficult unless you were following the game to a T. edit: even if they do a two cour (which isn't likely, if we look at how they handled previous adaptations), 24 episodes is only 8 hours. Yes, I realize 90+ hours comes somewhat from the dungeon crawling aspect of the game. However, as someone who has completed the game 100%, I can say that the time comes mostly from listening to dialogue, as most of the game is fully voice acted. This is not something you can just "skip" in an anime, like you can with a video game/VN. |

| I can't say I didn't see this coming, but man... I have mixed feelings about this! On one hand, I really want to see my favorite characters appear in animated form and see one of my favorite video games be adapted into a proper TV series and I do like how the PV looks... BUT on the other hand, I don't see how they're going to be able to cram 100+ hours of gameplay into a 24 episode TV series without rushing things, especially since this game has more content than both P3 and P4. What bothers me the most is that A–1 pictures of all studios are adapting this, they did a decent job with the P3 movies but Persona 4 Golden The Animation was nothing short of a catastrophe and they've got too many shitty shows under their belt overall in order for me to be able to trust them.
