| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- It's been more than 3 years but the show still feels like yesterday. Loved the way this returned with Yasaburou and the other characters. The first episode had the familiar of the first season. Glad to see the Yasaburou showing his tanuki form. It just felt so nostalgic. The comedy still feels pretty refreshing and production quality retains the way it was done before. Great episode. ED theme song sounds similar to the first season's. |

| After watching the Ed, I pretty much convinced why the both Tengu having the fight, the cause of fight most likely is Benten. Benten's relationship is just too complicated lol. |
| That beginning scene with Tousen and Souichirou was beautiful, i got the feels from that. Nidaime is mysterious or maybe he's just prideful like his father was (no surprise, the genes). I wonder if this season focuses more on the tengus and the tanukis get sucked into this? Also Benten left off somewhere. An air gun is mentioned by Nidaime that could be trouble if it gets into the wrong hands...ah shit. Nice and cozy start reintroducing the cast basically and setting up for something new. |

| Oh wow how long have I yearned for this second season since watching the first one and it's finally here. To be honest I don't recall the details like why Benten has to eat up Yasaburou etc but I still remember each characters vividly. They just have so much presence in my heart. I'm glad its just as great as how I remember it. The art and animation are just the same, nothing has change much to my relief. Why did Benten have to go..? I want to see more of her uguu. T^T The focus will be on Nidaime and the old man first huh. I just love that ED song. |

| It might've been nearly four years ago since I watched season one, but It didn't take long for me to adjust myself to seeing the cast once again. Thanks to that, it was easier for me to focus on the direction of this episode, and it was certainly interesting. It was also fascinating to see how Yasaburo's parents first met each other when they were kids, fighting against each other in groups, to becoming married when they were older. =) The art & animation remains the same as before, which is a good thing. Fhana is on point yet again with the ED song, Moon River. I still prefer her song from last season, Rhapsody of Blue Sky from Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, but this song sounds relaxing and smooth. =) So, a great start of season two and I'm looking forward to seeing what direction the story will take next. |
| Great start, just the way I remember it, light and fun while striking in very real, heartful ways. I'd forgotten how great a character Yasaburou is. Really enjoyed his interactions with the Kurama Tengu and the Nidaime, he's such a resourceful guy lol. Nice initial conflict with Akadama and Nidaime, which is obviously going to stem from freaking Benten, who might find this situation interesting enough to return soon. Didn't spot real best girl though, but of course we got her boneheaded brothers. So refreshing to have this back, and especially to go from Rakugo to Uchouten, Bahamut, and Natsume. Almost makes me feel like there is hope for anime yet. |

| As much as I like the first series this felt subpar in every possible way, boring at most. I mean, it's nice to remind us all important characters in one ep but it almost felt like a chore and I found the plot not very interesting and badly constructed. I don't like Nidaime at all as a character, he is epitome of bland, would be antagonist for Akadama. Also, no Benten, no good episode. I really hope they'll improve the script and the direction. |
| Before this anime second season started i watched the first season and i really enjoyed it alot, now looking foward to this one, great start as always nice animation and so smooth looking foward to this second season :D and guess we will have a Father Vs Son :O |

First season is easily one of my all time favourites and words cannot express how happy I was sit back and relax and get drawn back into the world of The Eccentric Family. Here's to more magical moments that are sure to come! |

| Loved the intro, it was really cute, showing us how the Shimogamo family came to be :) I agree it feels just like yesterday when I watched the first season, I'm so happy to see the characters back. Hopefully we'll be able to learn a bit about Benten this season, although I'm quite interested in Nidaime as well. It's only the first episode, but it's already established that he has his own set of values and goes by them stubbornly. Also, I love the visuals, the art style is so nice to look at, can't stop marveling at the backgrounds. |
| The first time I saw Uchouten Kazoku, it seemed to me at the same time quite weird but original in some ways, so I remained in my mind until now, and I also do not believe that there could be a continuation of the anime series. I'm very glad it's started. I was pretty gassed after seeing the last PV, but this episode has brought me down to earth. Perhaps I was expecting a more dynamic narrative, but in some ways, bad blood does not mind. In fact it seems that he never finished watching this anime, everything has remained unchanged, even the ending is almost identical to that of the first season. I can not wait to see the next episode. |

| Eeeeehhhhh I watched the first season way later than most of yall, but it feels like it's only been a few weeks. The first season definitely has a particular style and characters that aren't easily forgotten by those who enjoy the series. Anyway they did good with this episode, reintroduced the characters well, and brought in some new faces. |

| The first season was such a wonderful world to become immersed in and this first episode of the second season still holds the same charm now three years later. The weirdo twins Kinkaku and Ginkaku are still weird and to hear Benten's voice again is so nice. It'll be trouble for sure if she returns to find her master in trouble. |
| I still can't believe this is actually happening. Attack on Titan is back but that wasn't a "long-shot" given the commercial success. But Eccentric Family Season 2? That's a HELL of a long-shot, and here it is! Awesome episode. I was concerned that the long gap between seasons would lead to a style or tone change, but so far they're really nailing the same "big city scraping by, mixed with mythological magical realism" atmosphere that made the original so unique. Nidaime is great as well. Excited to see how the "duel" goes down in episode 2. Shame Benten is essentially MIA though. |

| -well it's been a while so let's see how well i understand stuff if it's been just about 2 years since i saw the first season -i remember absolutely nothing about a shogi tournament -jesus fuck these subs must have been different from the ones i must have used for the first season since i had no idea "Trick Magister" was the Nisemon -oh right i still need to watch march comes in like a lion -man these are some questionable subs -it's actually kinda surprising on how much information i've retained from the first season -and just as i type that i remember nothing about the kurama tengu -wow i actually did not see that coming, but once again it's been like 2 years -these subs are fuckin weird -oh man it's these bozos again -lmao was the old lady behind them joining them in that thing they do with the heads -so are these people new characters or have i just forgotten a bunch of things from the first season -das a fancy crib -yasaburo's a pretty goofy kid -huh, so they got fhana to reprise the ED Finally decided to pick this one up after it finished airing although i decided to wait a couple weeks because there is probably no way I could have retained everything if I followed it weekly. However, it seems like the only information that I can't clearly recall from the first season is what the Kurama tengu did or how they're important other than having control over the mountain. Reading over the list of 1st season episodes on Wikipedia doesn't give any more information, so maybe it's not too integral to the story this time. Knowing or not knowing aside, it seems like there's a certain aura to the show that it also had in the first season. Like, I can't really describe it but it's just there. It's kinda like, all the character interactions just feel really natural. Well, other than anything related to Benten, but it seems that she will play a much less prominent role in this season than the last one. Thank God. In the same vein of parallels to the first season, the overarching conflict seems to lie with a family of tengu this time. I liked the way things resolved themselves in the first season, so I'm not exactly sure how things will play out this time from the first episode alone. In general it seems like this season will be pretty on par with the first one. |
