Damn that was intense! This was the episode worth waiting for. Seriously, it's a clash of mech and I'm not one bit disappointed by what I saw.

It was a rough fight but there's good hope in the future. RIP Aston though. Seems like Mika matured a bit more this season. Really curious to see Takaki's next move but I bet he has a lot to think about his future ahead.

Well we knew one of them was going to go, but once again the animewriters spared Takaki and instead sacrificed Aston in the name of character development.

Like Masahiro before him, and in a very similar position, Aston dies for his friend and it causes a drastic change in Takaki.

The confrontation with Radice, Eugene, and Akihiro was so cool and very satisfying. Especially after Akihiro finds out about Aston. I don't think Eugene has ever looked scarier.

I was actually surprised that it ended up being Akihiro that took out Galan and so quickly. It's been a while since I've seen him so pissed off. And that scene with Lafter screaming after him was so cute! AkihiroxLafter all the way.

Hush has to have his butt saved by Mika in the most hilarious way possible. Lol. He basically just kicks him out of the way. But Hush had a bit of a Shinn moment after that, and all I can say is: Watch yourself, Hush. Don't mess up a good thing.

But the end scenes are the most poignant. Radice being interrogated by the Tekkadan leaders, Mika basically slowly taking his gun from his arm sling, and then Takaki asking to do it instead. You really get this feeling that he lost his innocence from this whole thing and especially after shooting Radice. (Also, it's great that you took notes from Mika, Takaki, doing a triple shot, rather than only one.)

Mika and McGillis also have a nice scene at the end as well, with Mika running out of dates and McGillis offering him chocolate. (where is that man keeping all those so they don't melt? )

Julietta is torn up about Galan's death, and I feel vengeance resonating in that office. Will she indeed become the female Ein 2.0?

Goodbye, Aston. But Takaki avenged you, so rest in peace. Now let's see how Tataki will change after this, he should toughen up considerably now.

Mika saves McGillis because Orga said so, even if he doesn't like it, heh.

Radice getting to know for himself that Tekkadan isn't just a bunch of kids he can use with no payback coming was highly satisfying. And Akihiro going full-on beast on Galan Mossa's ass was great to see too.

I had a feeling either Takaki or Aston would somehow end up being killed by McGillis. Takaki avoided a lot of death flags from Season 1 until now.

And Radice kept on lying until the very end.

Awesome episode.

Glad to see Barbatos coming in, Too bad it was too late. :(
R.I.P Aston, You did great. His final words were really sad. :(

Loved the interrogation by Eugene and Akihiro, They were so cool there.
Akihiro was on full rage, Damn. Glad to see him beating the shit out of Galan.

Mika saving Hush was kinda funny, He just kicked him out of the way. xD
Very powerful show of kinship among the Tekkadan members when they all agreed to leave the fate of Radice to Takakki despite whatever qualms they had.

Fareed gave Mika chocolate again. xD
I'm interested in the guy who created Gjallarhorn, Wonder if we'll get a backstory at some point.

Galan was a no name who gave up everything to work in the shadows, I'm actually interested in who he actually was. Julietta took his death quite personally. :o

Final scene was pretty sad with Fuka and Takaki. :(

I was dreading that Mika would go berserk once he realized that McGillis killed Aston.. really surprised how composed and chill he is during this episode..

RIP Aston, you just have more death flags triggered compared to Takaki I guess.. It's rather inevitable that one of them is gonna die by the end of this chapter anyway..

Takaki getting rid of Radice is very fulfilling, at least this painful chapter comes to an end finally..

Really good episode but i cant help but feel killing off takaki would of been the more interesting move and then having aston move on from it. I was kind of hoping this event would pin mcgillis against tekkadan but i guess that will have to wait. That said takaki forgoing his innocence and killing radice was a pretty bittersweet scene.

The action was fantastic though, the new animation director really was the best thing to happen to this show.

This was the most satisfying episode yet in the second season. It's also a shame Aston died but if it means more development for Takaki then I'm fine with.

The battle in this episode was fantastic by the way.

For Tekkadan, it would have been a major blow if Takaki went out. They would have definitely fought Gjallarhorn if that was the case if he died right there.

RIP Aston :/

The interesting part was the connection between Galan and Rustal, Julietta even mourned by crying for him. Let's see where that goes.

The fact that Takaki far too believe with that fucking Radice (sorry i'm way too angry with him) that make me feel like Takaki is the one who responsible for everything.. He is the leader.. he must use his head a little.. fight with no one and keep doing it, that's not Tekkadan. Tekkadan risk their life for something that has purpose, that's the point. McGilis not wrong, he just try to self defense in battlefield.

I kind of have to agree. Like I put on my review on my site, Takaki got played like a fiddle and rushed in when called on it by McGillis. If they had stuck with their usual formation, Mikazuki might have arrived in time to keep them both alive, but he shouldn't have been involved in the first place. It was old men and politics sending kids off to die. Rustal started a war just to screw with McGillis.

Good chapter. The action is just on another level from last season.

After the way he has manipulated and torn those children apart, Galan Mossa got the end he deserved. It's so, so satisfrying when those smug, talkative, know it all characters get finally taken out. And god I hope arrogant, ignorant Julietta gets schooled soon by Mikazuki.

Honestly, fuck them both and I hope that they rot in hell for all eternity...Fucking heartless and selfish cunts

Putting that aside, the fighting in this episode was intense and I LOVED seeing Akihiro go apeshit again....Savagezuki did not disappoint as usual and I'm shipping Lafter with Akihiro more and more with each ep lol

RIP though Aston.....I'm really gonna miss you kid :( And Mika's apprentice needs some work but I'm starting to see some promise

Shouldn't Mcgillis be accountable since he was directly responsible for Aston's death? Even when he wasn't the instigator, he killed him alongside a few Arbrau soldiers. He got off way too easy.

Bet he's going to eventually get that Gundam frame they found on mars. Probably not going to get the alaya surgery, but not entirely out of the question I think.

Glad Hush had that moment of realisation there at the end, so maybe he'll wind up more like Asemu (from AGE) than Shinn.

EDIT: Just had a thought, I wonder if that larger item (Mobile armour maybe?) they found at the mine is somehow connected to the legend of Agnika that Fareed mentioned.

Holy hell is Mika amazing. The way he kicked Hush's MS out of harms way and then, in the same fluid motion and almost courteously, just dodged the attack and then launched a counterattack. It was... just so very beautiful.

I'm glad Radice got what he deserved, and by Takaki no less, but I would've preferred to watch Akihiko beat the life out of him until everybody else has to hold Akihiko down.

And speaking of Akihiko, that was a great fight between him and Galan (?).

Gawd Takaki you let your emotions control you and Aston ended up dead because of your reckless fighting. I knew Aston was gonna die when he was like "Don't fight him alone". Aston ended up dying in your place by shoving you aside, Takaki.

Dam that blonde guy who wanted to use a Mobile Suit cried for his life... And ended up getting his ass saved by Mika.

My LafterXAkihiro is growing stronger than ever let's hope she actually leaves Naze for Akihiro since Naze has ofc too many wives to give each full care for.

Rip Galan. Rip Radice (was expecting more fear from you instead of ehhhhh in the end).

Overall I feel like Takaki got stronger this episode maybe even trusting new comers to Tekkadan less?
Kinda sad in the end 😭😭😭

wow nice episode. A big step story wise. Finally tekkadan is "united" again!
I like the little detail in animation, like mikazukis right eye doesnt show reflection usually but it does when he is attached to barbatos. Also McGillis hasitation before countering tekkadan, because the alliance he has with Orga.

I guess this episode was also to develope takakis character more. He will probably lead earth branch alone from now on, with chad as his support when hes back.

But orga should seriously cut his hair, it looks annoying when he has to close his right eye when he is talking to someone because his hair is in the way XD (noticed it in the preview)

Also LafterxAkihiro is more obvious then ever.

In every other anime I would fear that some of the annoying and bad guys will survive, but with mikazuki around Im 100% sure he will take care of that ^^

RIP Aston. These small, tender moments with him, Takaki and Fuka have really made him grow on me. It's sad not only that he died, but that what he said was true; his death came because he grew to care too much. At least he died with dignity, and knowing he saved Takaki's life.

Barbatos arriving just in the nick of time to save the day will never grow old.

IBO continues to maintain the uniformity of the common battle suit, so Barbatos still stands out, maybe even more so than before. The moment he arrives he's instantly recognizable, and yet his reputation is starting to strike more fear than his intimidating appearance. I love it.

Galan gets the beatdown and death he deserves. Aston was probably one of the last connections Akihiro had to his brother, so it's appropriate that he delivers the finality.

Galan Mossa was despicable to Tekkadan in the way he relished taking advantage of the kids, but he really does demonstrate that there's no honor in war. He was admirably devoted to Rustal and his cause, and just turned out to be on the other side.

McGillis and Mikazuki have a moment. The chocolate man lives up to his namesake, and is starting to connect to viewers in his awe of Barbatos, lol. McGillis never acts without an ulterior motive, but I am starting to suspect that he's developing a fondness for Mikazuki, in his simpleness and devotion. McGillis' life is one large scheme and drama, so I can see why he'd like Mikazuki's plainness and uncomplicated motivations.

The ED has really grown on me. Aston, you will be missed.

but man Akihiro is a beast how he handled that guy was awesome guy deserved every bit of that but also seems like something is growing between Akihiro and Lafter but yeah

I seriously thought Takaki would've died, but it had to be Aston! If Takaki died, Aston would've rapped Fuka lol! Galan Mossa should've killed Akihiro and himself, so Lafter would be in pain and it would be Mikazuki x Lafter. Takaki is a good kid since he shot Radice to avenge Aston's death. Didn't see that coming.

It's refreshing to see how even our villain for the last few eps,"The Nameless Bearded Man",had his mourners and despite how he abused Tekkadan, he actually didn't go out in a pitiful way or anything.

So Takaki is the one that get's to see the next day and now the question is,how much of his innocence did he loose after all this. Right there at the end his hesitation to hug his sister might indicate that he'll want to distance himself to avoid putting her at risk or maybe it was just because he didn't know how to break it to her about Aston - expecting the later based on the preview. Assuming is shoved completely to the sidelines now, I wouldn't be surprised to see her targeted in the future, since Tekkadan is bound to be making more enemies.

Also, the Akihiro & Lafter ship is definitely there, albeit sailing at a slow pace since there's only so much the show can cover. Although we do have plenty of eps remaining and since this is Sunrise's new Gundam Flagship, a 3rd season might not be out of the real of possibility either.

this episode hit me man i already felt at least one of them were going to die in this nameless war Astons death was well done and Akihiro's anger to seek revenge was well portrayed.

while i know Takaki was being played the whole time can't help but wonder if he didn't act so reckless how things would of pan out differently glad Mika showed up and instantly knew to protect McGilli's i just thought they all already knew what McGilli sounded like and what suit he pilots.

And the usual subtle LafterXAkihiro is a 100% confirmed now were it will go i have no idea but i support it oddly enough Naze has enough wives

At least i'm glad Takaki decided to take lead, I liked that Mika and the others were like "okay, you do it". Tho, I wanted Mika to kill him in the most painful way, but this is pretty satisfying too.

Couldn't they see that the Graze Ritter was also fighting their enemy? Was Aston's MS holding onto the Graze so Galan's men could shoot at it? Galan and Rustal's faction want to mess with McGillis so much.

That battle was intense. One of the satisfying fights so far. I was saddened that Aston died. I was sure it was going to be Takaki. Good riddance to Radice the traitor. Fitting that Takaki was the one to end him. Sad that Aston was the one to go. Hush finally getting a proper reality check out in the battlefield. He thought he could do what Mika can. Akihiro going berserk on Galan Nissan was awesome. Looking forward what Tekkadan is going to do next.

Man this was a painful episode, I'm glad Takaki lived but Aston ;_; nooo why did you have to die thinking those thoughts and leaving Takaki and his sister behind. They just finally became a family too and I can't deal with this type of death (The one where they had something to live for and their life gets snatched away). R.I.P

I always love seeing cold condescending Mika that will kill anyone that messes with his family so it was awesome seeing him show up and beat ass. It was also awesome to see him be like "Why are we even talking with him? He betrayed Tekkadan" *Pulls out gun*. I did not not expect to see Takaki be the one to use the gun however...man he's becoming more like Mika every death flag he survives watching others die in his place. Have no idea what to expect from the next story arc...but this was a fantastic episode.

The LafterXAkihiro thing keeps brewing! They were some moments in the first season hinting to something with Lafter, but this episode ups it a bit more. The the death flags on Akihiro keep getting stronger, too...

I see this developing into Akihiro dying at some point, and Lafter avenging him... and possibly dying herself in the process.

The battle was awesome, but what I enjoyed the most was seeing tekkadan deal with Radice. Also quite liked the conclusion to this mini arc for Takaki.
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

Dammit, Aston dies for his comrade… that cockpit was wrecked I was amazed to see his body in one piece (make me wonder how Lafter & Azee survived that vicious cockpit attack from last season)… Exquisite Mecha battle choreography especially Akihiro vs Scumbag Mercenary… the drama was on point my only gripe (I’m nitpicking here) I would have preferred if Akihiro pincer attack would have crush completely Galan and if they showed us those bullet to the head to the other rat (the coward doesn’t deserve to be called by his name)…

Takaki regressed in the last few episodes only to go back to how he was last season by the end of this episode. It's not character development if he had to act a certain way that was not natural because of his experiences with adults were beforehand, only to experience again something he should already be well acquainted because of CGS.

Woah. This episode was the best IBO episode I've seen in a while. The feels, the action, the intensity and deaths. Just...wow. Episodes like this really showcase what the entire series is all about. Mika being an OG basically saying "Let's cap this fool Radice!" and Takaki has grown into one of my favorite characters so it's gonna suck when they kill him off like they did Biscuit (lol). Even Akihiro showed out. Dopeness on dopeness. My only problem was the deux ex machina when Mars Branch Tekkadan showed up. I hope they give us more of an explanation in the next episode, something more than just "SAU let us in" haha. But still I can overlook it because of all the other great things about this episode. 10/10.

I agree, I wasn't expecting to see that, but it's interesting to know that Galan sacrificed everything so he could play his part. It makes me realize that everyone must've been cared for by another, and is someone's friend.

I agree this situation feels really similar with Akihiro and his brother, and once again, I cried for the one who died. "You, Takaki. And Fuka. I wish I'd never met you two. I wish I'd never met you all. Because I don't want to lose such a life while I have to die now." Still can't get over how terrible of a life Human Debris go through. I'm glad though while he said all that, he was still thankful towards Takaki. And that Takaki didn't give Radice mercy given that he sold out the Earth branch for really no good reason at all except that he didn't like the kids nor having to work for the kids.
