| So I was brushing my teeth while watching this episode. Not a good idea. The cross-dressing scene (and especially "You look like a gorilla!") made me spit toothpaste all over my screen. And I thought Rumi looked cuter than Ueda. |

They like one character of it more than the other, but can't connect to the other guy in it so they just gender bend them so they can relate. |

| I hear you, Sakaguchi. I don't understand crossdressing dudes either, especially maid outfits. I have two friends who dig that, but I can't see the appeal lol. For example, I really like USxCanada (Hetalia), but I also reeeally like femme USxfemme Canada (GL), but I also like USxfemme Canada and femme USxCanada (Het). And each of those sometimes comes with a new dynamic to play with. Aside from Hetalia though, in which their sex swapped forms are canonical kinda, I don't really mess with that. BUT when I do switch some things up, I wouldn't tag it as BL?? It either becomes het or GL?? You're saying people still consider it BL? I'm confused.;; |

It could even cause the seme and uke to swap in some cases though I have never seen male seme become female uke. (Could potentially find it interesting though.) What I've most commonly seen on Pixiv is a log of one couple, for instance Bakugo×Deku from Boku no Hero Academia, where the last several images will show Deku as a female (it's almost always the uke who's genderswapped). The log is tagged as both 腐向け (fumuke, "for rotten people") and 女体化 (nyotaika, "body of a woman"). I think I have seen a couple instances where both characters are genderswapped, but I can't recall whether they were tagged as GL. But yeah, it's very common to see a collection of BL illustrations with several (usually at the end) where the uke is genderswapped. It's much more rare, but I do from time to see 男体化 (dantaika, "body of a male"), especially with characters from titles where there generally aren't many male characters to begin with and, yes, even a genderswapped Gou from Free!, as if there weren't already 240 different possible pairings. lol And female US×male Canada? 🤔 Other than Honda (Japan), I'm not big on Hetalia, but that could be nice. 😏 |
