THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Idk how I feel about the glasses girl, she seems kinda conservative. The pacing is slow for this series although I kinda like Chika for her fun personality. Meanwhile, we do find out more about Miyo's family like her brother.

On another note, I do find Haruta to be wise with his haughty thinking. Still not feeling the mystery aspect of this show yet though. The classic rubix cube stuff isn't something new I've seen before. "You've solved it" ~

That Narushima has a rotten attitude, but very nice tits...evens out I guess. :D Plus her tragedy involving her brother gives her a little slack. Solution to the puzzle was just okay, but I did enjoy seeing Haruta get smacked around. :D Chika cute as usual. :D

Can't believe there's so much generic harem bullshit that gets rated far higher then this, the solution and the reason behind it was glorious and I love the eyes, the creative characters and the unique story, I've loved the puzzle-solving parts in both episodes. By far my favourite show of the season.

I'm not sure what to think about this show. I love smart characters, but Haruta is a little too smart. It's anticlimactic how easily he figures things out.

I should probably stop expecting there to be any deep drama, and just continue enjoying the rapport between the characters, which has been nice so far.

So Huruta likes puzzles but he doesn't like his sisters from the sound of it.
I wonder if they will be introduced at some point during the anime.
Having one older sister i can somewhat understand Haruto tho when i entered highschool she had already left home so things where fine between us then since i saw her rarely.
Now i speak her even less.

Chika seems to be close to him but she also seems to have trouble dealing with him from time to time.
It makes me wonder what will happen between them.

And that funi's cancer translation, ehh :| San, Chan, Senpai = miss. I don't even talk about other liberalization. I think, I will wait for other subs starting from next week. Doki, pls.

Btw, nice soundtrack. That track which played when they tried to solve that cube, pure awesomeness.

Agreed. His random borderline know-it-all monologues were a bit much. So far, this show is slightly above average due to art and sound alone to me. I've seen a lot of people suggest that mystery shows are hard to screw up, but in reality I believe they're difficult to get right.

When people said this would be a little like Sherlock Holmes and John Watson do music and love triangle around puzzles they weren't wrong. Haruta throwing random as heck facts about pineapples because why not, right? xD

I'm watching this more for the characters than anything. The puzzle was better than last week, at least, but most def not the strength of the show at all.

Chika's pout are cute and Narushima seems to be a good addition to the cast now without the emo.

Great episode. This show probably has the best OP and ED so far this season, I absolutely love them. Pouting Chika <3. The touching moments were nice, but wish it would've been a little bit longer to leave a little bit more impact. I freaking love Narushima's character design.

I love this anime already. I found myself caring for the characters since the very first episode and I really love Chika and Haruta's dynamic. This anime has such a nice, relaxing atmosphere to it. Next to ERASED, Haruchika is probably the anime I look forward to the most every week.

It's an odd combination, a music club and mystery element.

Problem with one episode mysteries is, the full impact of the mystery doesn't get executed well. It was heart-warming I suppose but lacked the emotional punch I expected.

You'd have to squeeze in character development, character motivation and mystery solving, all under 20 minutes.

The build up to the episode was pretty slow but when the mystery portion kicked in, things sped up considerably.

Haruta is pretty OP.

i just hope not every episode is going to be: haru is smart and figures most of it out, then gets stuck, chika stumbles upon another hint, the teacher comes out of nowhere starts talking about something which gives haru the last clue to solve the mystery

with that said i did enjoy it and the solution to the puzzle was nice.

The puzzle solving and the way they helped Miyo overcome her grief was so touching!

This was a beautiful episode!

Not sure why all the hate for it, when both episodes so far were fun and had some touching moments.

Maybe now people can stop trying to deny Haruta's gay after a confirmation that he's not interested in Chika at all. The puzzle was pretty neat too, even if I did go a lil "lol wtf" when he started painting the colours back on. Reminded me of taking the stickers off and sticking them back on as a kid.

Hm yeah, not a huge fan of characters that know a lot of random facts, and I wouldn't mind if they explained why Haruta is so knowledgeable. But it's not a big problem for me here because there's so much that I like about this series so far. The answer to the puzzle was quite touching and meaningful, and it helped Narushima move on from her brother's death. What a smart and kind little brother. I almost shed a tear when Narushima took out her oboe and started playing it. The thing about oboists being a certain way was sort of weird though, although I do know how difficult it is to play and control that thing.

And again, I love Haruta and Chika's interactions, they remind me of two of my friends who are quite savage to each other, but in a manner where it can only be seen in a relationship between two very good friends.

As for people wondering if it's episodic, I'm pretty sure it will continue to be this way. The novels seems to have few mysteries in each volume. Also, this is quite the PA Works style, slice of life and more or less episodic. It's also directed by the same person as Tari Tari, no wonder the tone feels quite reminiscent of that anime.

Not sure if i'm sold on Haruta yet but he's quite the smartass. I'm a little bit invested now because I want to see how that works out for him,
-and Chika is actually doing proper calisthenics unlike those try-hards in that KyoAni disaster.

I enjoyed this episode, a lot more than the previous one. The ending was quite heartwarming. The only problem for me is that I hope the puzzle-related problems won't become a repetitive thing that needs to be solved every episode. Or at least, the way they go about it. (Haruta solves every single mystery problem without a hitch.) Although, I am mostly watching it for the characters so I guess that won't be too much of a problem if that is the case.

I do not think the mystery was too hard to solve in the span of time they had. It seemed to progress really fast, but he didn't just solve it in a day. The greatest clue was the fact that the Rubik's cube was painted over (which was what Chika noticed first, the smell of it). Usually, things are painted over for a reason. And if you can't see the solution on the outside, it must be on the inside. At least that's my track of thought.

But this is what I like about Haruchika so far; the mysteries seem complex, but once you know the truth, everything is clear and logical. There are no asspulls or things the characters could have never solved without the main character's plot armour. So far, Haruchika is succeeding at being a slice of life mystery show.

I just love how sassy Haruta is. : P It's not the first time that there have been smartass characters in any media, be it novels, anime or other TV series (Sherlock, House MD, even the famous anime such as Death Note and Code Geass). It's just that the setting is lighter and different to these shows. What I also love is how Haruta is portrayed as an innocent and naive young boy in the posters and promotional art which is very misleading.

Chika was cute as ever with her pouting, and the tragic story was suitable for a slice of life anime. I enjoyed this episode more than the previous one. I think what will be interesting to see is Haruta getting it wrong as some point which should lead to some drama afterwards.
