Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck.... I can see where this is going...

It was nice seeing Carlos again, but it hurts seeing him like that. Damn, I hope he can recover, not to be a boxer again, but at least to be... normal.

But even worse than the Carlos thing, watching Joe like that cannot lead to anything good. He's clearly with the punch-drunk syndrome.... Dammit...

It sucks to see Carlos like that man :/ but damn...what a nice reunion between Joe and Carlos :3

Joe is clearly becoming desperate nowadays...smh I hope he can keep his composure for the match against Jose.

It was painful to see Carlos again like that...it actually made me tear-eyed myself when Joe started to cry when Carlos started giving out punches which was just a shadow of his former self.

Such a depressing episode T.T

It was really heartwarming how Joe treated Carlos :)

Man this episode was really a mix for me. On the one hand I witnessed the absolutely worst boxing episode of the anime, filled with gravity defying bullshit. Even for this series which doesn't pride itself on realism, it was an all time low.

Then in comes Carlos. The interactions with Carlos literally elicited more of an emotional response than almost anything, if not everything, I've seen in anime. Then there is also the foreshadowing with Joe. So basically I ended up hating the first half of the episode and absolutely loving the last half.

Carlos' return completely stole the episode. It was really depressing to see him like that but it was a really touching reunion. One of the best moments of the entire show up to date.

Joe's last fight gonna be even tougher now.

It was awful seeing Carlos like that.
Joe seems to feel the damage from his fight against Harimau.

Seeing Carlos like this was awful.

And well, after this episode I'm prepared for the worst.

I really like the Joe fights but this one was just bad, I get what the author wanted to do with all the "go back to wild Joe" but the execution was very poor.

Joe is not going to end well and the anime definitely doesn't try to hide it.

How did Carlos even get here from Venezuela in his current condition lol.

Honestly, while the idea of Joe fighting a wild boxer like Harimau in order to regain his old instincts was a good idea, the fight wasn’t that great and at one point I was laughing at how ridiculous it was.

But the second half of this episode was completely different, and damn, it hit me hard. Carlos’ first punch against Joe and the silence that followed as Joe’s eyes were filled with tears, seeing for himself how much Carlos has changed, then Carlos throwing empty punches as Joe slowly hugged him... this was painful to watch. Not to mention Joe showing symptoms of punch-drunk syndrome. Depressing episode.

Carlos.... this is just sad. as if it wasn't tragic enough for Joe to hear the news of him getting crippled and thus retiring. he get to see what became of him aftermath. harsh.

It's always surprising to me how much Yoko cares for Joe. when she said "Not just Carlos, but all the boxers who are suffering from the same symptoms could" she meant Joe. she already noticed his symptoms before anyone else did.

That Harimao fight was kinda retarded to be honest, I mean what were those lolshounenmagic moves and techniques? It was a huge let down after the previous, somewhat realistic matches.

The animal has been beaten, and it was uhh, a pretty abnormal fight I'd have to say. Seeing Carlos like that hurt me so much, it was so tragic. While it's unsettling, let's be honest here, pretty sure all of us knew something would happen to Joe, and well, some symptoms are becoming visible now...

Carlos' appearance was depressing, but extremely touching.

Joe seems to have received many shocks in this fight

Otherwise the fight was really bullshit, I just liked Joe's final blow, but the rest was a joke

Faaaaaak, it broke me seeing Carlos like that ...

That supposed "slip and fall" Joe had doesn't bode well either, it's what happened to Carlos.
And then Yoko talking about the punch drunk syndrome again ... I have a very bad feeling about the fight vs Jose :(

Oh no, this show is going in a very bad direction! The implications of this episode, if they are followed through, are going to lead to a dark and tragic ending. It's an ending that could justify the fame and hype of this season, but also be very emotionally difficult. I'm scared of the direction this is heading.

How the hell did Harimau stay in the air for that long??? It honestly is distracting me from Carlos Rivera's return, despite the sorry state he's in.
I have read 2 perfect chapters of manga; They are Usogui Chapter 203 and Onani Master Kurosawa Chapter 23.

This episode was a shitshow saved by Carlos.
Was Harimau a pokemon ? What did makers think before animating that physics defying move where that pokemon suddenly begins to spin at one place ?

One of the saddest stuff I've ever watched. Carlos, a once strong and dandy boxer, and then being reduced to someone no one can even recognize at first sight. I like how Joe was the only one who called his full name, Carlos Rivera, and still remembered him as his once-friendly foe. Carlos's situation reminded me of both Muhammad Ali and Prichard Colon from that handshaking of Ali and lack of situational awareness of Colon. And I see that Joe's developing similar symptoms and having a hard time accepting that this could be his fate. I hope Carlos gets the treatment he deserves. Cheers to that 🥂 > 5:21 AM, 19/10/24

This episode was one hell fo a ride. I wasnt expecting to cry this episode but in the end i did.

We finally see Carlos again after so very long and what a sad state he is in. Im glad he is back and its nice to see he remembers Joe along with being a strong boxer but its just so painful to see him the way he is compared to the way he was. This punch drunk syndrome is one hell of an issue and seeing as its starting to appear on Joe as he cant even button up a shirt just like Carlos.

I wonder if that doctor we met earlier on in the show will be able to do anything for them.

Im glad Carlos is back and is kinda ok, i hope to see him recover atleast even a little bit.
