Regarding the boomer lore, the corporation is also changed now (somewhat). Zon is namedropped several times, even though we can see Genom briefly in the OP (on Nene's computer, which by the way suggests some involvement with the stock exchange due to the yen signs lol).
Starting the "boomer revolution" with industrial workers evokes some obvious connections. And then the united consciousness thing... The whole idea of attacking the A.D.P. building and hacking it was sort of similar to ep. 8 of Crisis.
Largo's dialogue with Sylia didn't make too much sense. "Don't wanna control the world? Well that means we're allies, how about controlling the world together?"
What's the point of making some screens flash so frequently (e.g. the one with the machine after the final battle)? It doesn't add anything and just worsens the watching experience for some people.
Regarding the ending, I think Leon knew only about Priss' involvement with Knight Sabers, yet they're acting as if they all know everything lol. Though maybe he didn't make the connection and treated them as Priss' friends.
Well, it was rather cheesy, but at least it was Sylia who shot both of the bad guys, it was more intimate for her than for the others anyway. The post-credits scene was a nice addition, Sylia should still have hope!
Especially that part where they shamelessly zoom in on Priss and that Boomer who attacked her face when their fighting in the tunnel. It was pretty damn funny.
It was meant to be impactful but... xD
P.S. One of the screens had some text about anime subtitles and Antichrist xD
P.P.S. Now that I think of it, Priss is the only main character in the entire 11 episodes who suffered serious injuries. And yet they didn't seem to bother her here at all, huh.

In other words, a 5 or maybe 6/10. Any reason to watch them apart from "completing" the brand ?
I didn't hate these episodes like many fans seem to do, but they indeed are less well-made. The episodes are darker (literally), animation got stiffer, etc. They do provide some sort of logical closure, though you'd be fine without them either. Well, there's more music, at least. I guess BGC 2040 is the place to go if you want to have a properly "completed" story (I know many cling to the original and ignore the remake, but the involvement of Chiaki J. Konaka as the primary script writer seduces me to check it out) |
