Seriously I love both equally in my opinion.However asuna certainly caught my attention because of different real life is she has a horrible life where her parents control her life and sets up marriage arrangements for her.Her parents don't even care for her happiest.She is also the vice captain of the strongest guild ;)

But Shino also has problems in real life right?She gets panic attacks everytime she sees a gun.Plus she almost got raped by her only real life friend.Sinon is also the 'best sniper' in ggo ;) I guess it differs for different people.Maybe I like Shino more because I play fps games more than fantasy games

Sinon, most definitely. Asuna is cool, but I must admit that I never loved her quite as much... Sinon's personality, looks, history, and everything is just amazing imo. I'm surprised that's she's losing by this large of a landslide - I mean, I'm totally cool with Asuna lovers of course! But man... XD She's my favorite character from probably anything, really... I just love her. ^^;

As much as I love Asuna, Sinon ass is clearly superior. Not to mention I just find Sinon character more fun and love her story more.
Don' get me wrong, Mother Rosario was easily my fav arc of SAO, and love Asuna in the ordinal scale movie, and her development, but she was also Princess peach in the second arc, not to mention a bit annoying at times. I guess I like my character to be a bit more tsundere at times, and the fact that Asuna is full waifu is just a bit weird to me.

Granted I don't blame anybody for picking the inferior girl, as she is great in SAO progressive also and have more screen time.

Asuna by a landslide. Sinon is a decent character and her story is interesting, but Asuna is too relevant to the most important storyarc and is the most relevant love interest. Too bad she gets less and less important to the economy of the story to the point she becomes a friggin' healer.

asuna is useless and has little to no character development throughout the entire series. In the first few episodes of the SAO arc she's shrouded in mystery and had the potential to be a good character, but she just turned out to be a generic tsundere and a generic love interest to the protagonist.

sinon is badass and awesome, and her background was one of the most compelling parts of the entire GGO arc. Throughout that arc, she develops a lot as a character, overcoming her past traumas with the help of kirito.

in my opinion every female character in Sword Art Online is flat as a fuckin pancake except for sinon, she is a developed and round character that should get more screentime.

I love Asuna and Fucking hate Sinon and her annoying stupid fan brats.

Also Fuck the rabid haters of Asuna, she is a strong, brave, sweet girl who really cares for the ones she holds deer. Plus she gets a lot of development to her character including her development with Kirito as a beautiful sweet couple. Those hating dumbasses can't see a true great female lead if she could slap them in their fucking faces.

Not all mind you but the Fans of Sinon are annoying Fan boys who say they only love her, because she a badass who fights with guns, and nothing else going for her and no her PTSD problems don't make a dull, boring, flat, overrated, poor excuse of a character any better. And fuck the ship with her and Kirito as it will never happen so deal with it you Fantards.

Sorry for snapping, but I'm just stating my own personal feelings here.

For me that's the easiest question ever: "Of course it's Asuna". Asuna was my fovourite anime character ever since she fell asleep under that tree next to Kirito. I just love the way she cares about others and how she's totaly comitted to Kirito. But what I like most is her voice (in both, English and Japanese) it is just so calm and enjoyable. But what makes this decision even easier is the fact that I hate Shinon. I hate her since she first met Kirito. I just don't like how she is never honest and always so closed up. Also she gets upset far too easily. This is just a comparison of the best and the worst character in this series.

Asuna <3. I like tsundere Sinon but I know this kind of relationship is more suitable for long running live drama instead (go through a lot with her and develop feelings, just like Asuna did).

I have Sinon as my favourite character at the moment and I just noticed this poll now ha ha. I absolutely love Sinon's voice in the dub (Michelle Ruff) and I remember first hearing her voice as Rukia from Bleach, which happened to be one of the first anime I followed / was a fan off. Sinon's design and style are really cool and her blue hair from the GGO arc make her unique and recognisable. Her skill as a sniper with her rifle Hecate, and the way she uses a bow from a great distance (how unorthodox!) in Alfheim make her a valuable asset in any guild or party that she's in. I look up to her as role model for how she dealt with the trauma and tragedies in her life and how she stayed strong and always believed in herself ;)

Asuna is best girl if you have not read the source material. Things I love about her is her determination to protect kirito and she is not freaking useless if you have not paying attention to the show or the light novel. The creator even wrote progressive and mother Rosario to expand her development. He also a big kirisuna fan, so sorry shiper out there who got their ship sunk. There is always a gameverse for the series.
