 A new Lupin III TV series is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2015, according to a MIPCOM event in Cannes, France. The protagonist, Lupin, will be starring as the main character in this upcoming series, set to take place in Italy and San Marino. It will be the newest Lupin III series 30 years after Lupin III: Part III finished airing (not counting the spin-off series). | First Magic Kaito, then Kaitou Joker...Now Lupin!! :D 2015 is the year of heist anime~ Although I haven't seen much from this franchise, I will definitely be watching this series when it airs. | i guess its high time i give this show a watch, i just hope its lengthy, it'd give me more time to catch up to it......oh whgo am i kidding thats gonna be near impossible with nearly 200 episodes not including movies, still if im gonna watch that much then ill definitely be wanting alot more from the newer season |

| Making my O face. I'm so excited! I'm not too surprised considering in 2012 we got Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna, and in 2013 we got Lupin v Conan the movie, and then this year Jigen's Gravestone released in Japan. The live-action movie is set to release soon, too. Lupin has been on a huge up-swing since 2009, when the Lupin v Conan special came out. AOTY 2015? As a humongous Lupin fan, I'd love for it to be good enough. The director is from the Young Animators Project and did Buta, which was by no means bad (but a bit rushed). If the director is given more time and is able to make a four+ cour series, it could be the length of time dude needs to knock this out of the park. Optimistically. |

| Lupin III: Series IV? I notice the setting is given as Italy apparently for the whole series. This relatively restricted location is a first for the usually globe-trotting Lupin TV series. I'm hoping that there will be a strong sense of place as a result. I wonder if it'll be a eclectic collection of one-shots like the other TV series or if they'll do a continuous story on some level? Glad to see they've given Lupin a new jacket which shows sufficient gumption. Appealing to nostalgia too heavily by re-using the red jacket would have been a bad sign. |
