This episode was alot more interesting then the first, the alternate path that Jun took just from 1sec before he woke up changed his fate completely

this episode was definitely better than the first but i didn't like that they made you wait till the end to find out its jun from an alternative dimension because i spent the whole of the episode tring to work out the situation whether this is a jump to the future like they did with DB to DBZ or whether its an alternate dimention . also i hope this older version isn't the protagonist because hes a little boring

Well, after a confusing first episode. This one was undoubtedly better. Hope those people who dropped this after the first episode are gonna go back and give this series another shot.

Hopefully they followed the 'three episodes before dropping' rule :P

I really liked this episode myself, gives me back all the feels I had when I read the manga. I adore Rozen Maiden, so seeing this animated, with HD and pretty animation is a bit dream come true.

I hope it will stay true to the feeling of the manga unlike the other RM animes.

My theory so far:

A friend and I were theory crafting and cross checking some things with the anime and manga and we've come up with a theory that we feel may work.

Essentially, the alternate universe, the manga storyline AND the previous anime are all interlinked. This is one big thing planned from the start in our opinion.

Notice in the end, we never actually saw the seventh rozen maiden awake? Yep, we actually saw the false rozen maiden created by Rozen's apprentice! In the very final scene of the previous anime, we actually DO see the seventh which is mind boggling and I'll explain why.

Essentially, we thought of it like this - anime Jun told all of the rozen maidens in his command to not fight any more. Father told Shinku that there were other ways to become Alice aside from fighting. So in theory, those six involved with the fight against the false seventh wouldn't fight on any more. But what happens when the seventh actually wakes up and comes to collect the rosa mystica's of the other six? Well this is where it gets interesting.

In the latest episode of the 2013 anime, Jun explains to future Jun from the other timeline that most of the rozen maiden's have already fallen to the seventh. But how could they be defeated so easily? Well that's where the storyline from the previous anime comes in. But what about the manga storyline? Well consider, if you will, that this actual story leads up to the 2013 anime.

Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, it's 1am but trust me, from what we can tell, the manga and other anime clash in this anime. Crazy stuff.

Also, if you don't believe me on the false and true seventh:

^From what I know, the "false seventh doll" from Traümend did not exist in the original manga, she and her maker were anime-original and a departure from the original story.

The real story starts from here, huh. That's more like it. Shoujo no Tsukurikata. That's the same name of a prequel oneshot to the story. Reminds me that I'd like to read it someday as well...

It's refreshing to see the story unfold down an alternate path now that Jun chose 'no'. He never attended high school, and ended up a socially crippled college student working part-time at a small bookstore and lives alone. The contents of this episode is still part of the Rozen Maiden II manga's synopsis (from mangaupdates).

I find it nice that his female co-worker really tries to socialize with him. I wonder if that girl will play a bigger role later on... I'd like to see what the grown-up Nori, Tomoe and Megu would look like, if they even play a role in this alternate universe.

Oh man this was pretty damn good.
The OP still feels weird, it can only remind me of Another, it's way to similar.
Hopefully this'll continue to be focused on the story, I don't like nonsensical stupid wanna-be serious action trash.

After the admittedly difficult challenge of going over the whole first part of the manga in one episode, at least it explains things pretty well this time (although the weird red circle that appeared when the MC got called out of the storeroom after he received the first box is puzzling).
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

this anime is following the manga; the original anime isn't canon and barasuishou never existed, not even in an alternate timeline.

conversely, kirakishou uses crystals as well. read the manga.

As a person who have seen the anime of Rozen Maiden, not the manga, I see the relevance of the first episode now.

The Jun that we know mailed the college Jun that he is battling Kirakishou with Canaria... referring back to the first episode recap that Canaria was the one that remained by Jun's side. I guess reading the manga would help, and to know what really happened in the canon Alice Game.

P.S. It was interesting to see the story/theme of Shinku, where she is a granddaughter of a sailor.

Yes, finally. Why can't this be the first episode?

Because maybe DEEN was afraid people will get more confused if they just showed Adult Jun from the start?

There were a lot of people that thought this was going to be a total reboot, including me (thought it was a couple of important episodes from the 1st series and then continuing straightly to the 2nd series.)

But only people who didn't read the manga will get confused. And people who didn't read the manga will not get the storyline with a single recap episode. The first episode is totally pointless since it's useless to its intended audience and useless to everyone else.

That is why I got really disappointed at the first episode.

As a first-timer, I decided to read the first part of the manga and I could almost understand everything now.

The OP has spoilers! It shows Middle School Jun meeting with College Jun.
And that's exactly what's happening. Wind Jun is communicating with Do Not Wind Jun.

Two interesting characters:
Saitou, Jun's co-worker, is nice enough to socialize with Jun.
And apparently, she has a key. I think she'll be involved with the Rozen Maidens.
The manager is a prick.

So with Creating A Girl, Jun tries to build Shinku, but then the magazine is cancelled. Preview says Jun will continue anyway.

From now on, there's College Jun and Middle School Jun.
I’m always searching for something, for someone. This feeling has possessed me I think, from that day… That day when the stars came falling.

beginning of the season. my first try with this anime --- couldnt finish the first episode.
end of the season, 2nd try....cos it was a recap, i thought, having watched the previous seasons, i tried a bit of episode 2. the way Jun repeated the waking up and holding the letter made me question. hastily went back and watched first episode by speeding the scenes up. except for the last scene with Kirakishou. felt bad, but at least i could watch ep 2 more peacefully.

alas, I LOVED EPISODE 2 SO MUCH. the tension towards the end, where old Jun just gets impatient waiting for the parts to come....and the music....and the suspense....

im glad i started this again

It was interesting and well really mysterious especially the mail from that alternative universe... I really wonder where this story will go to actually! Lets see what's next!

Mea culpa, the idea was wrong, and now he understands why. The Good episode, graphics and designs are changed, I have to do with reason, but the plot and narrative are intriguing.
Engaging, look forward to the next episode to see how the story evolves.
Designs which, compared to the first series I really do not like them, I mean the character design, scenarios and design while changing the color is nice, maybe the style of watercolor color mode that known here in the depths, it is definitely nice, but I gradivo more that seen in Aoi Hana that this is not similar to that seen in Dantalian!
I do not know if I made a good idea! ^ ^ "
However, the episode that deserves full marks!

It's really weird to see Jun more grown up. I never expected this. That girl that works at the store is pretty cute and might have a thing for Jun. So I guess Jun who chose do not wind is making Shinku. Also he's messaging himself that did chose to wind it. I wonder where it go if this continues on. Good episode.

Oooh Jun-kun has a little love interest! (who just so happens to be the only not-terrible person around him :p)

Although now that the magazine has suspended publication, I feel like Jun will either circle "will you wind?" or go out to a doll store to finish Shinku.

great episode, it's like the reinvention of the series but I have 1 question.

What is the red circle for? It shows up on the shelves after Jun first discovers the Rozen Maiden book and gets called aside by his manager. Around the 8 minute mark. Is that supposed to represent him circling "wind"?
