I'm really interested in getting an explanation next episode about what makes Yuichi so unique when it comes to how he's been playing the game.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

Human abomination? Don't you say, and also look at the mirror, please, dear pretty administrator...

Alright its about time Yuuichi to laid a comeback and used that 'golden rule' of the badmouthing game. Very interesting to see how its applied to reveal whose the traitor of this second game. I can't help but honestly laugh my butts so hard when Tenji scared the fuck off Yuuichi grimace face. Dude really sounds like he's about to burst out of laughter. However there's still more of explanations about how Yuuichi set the traps, the three of them? That being said, even if i may have a little grasp of whats the trap are all about, still interesting to see how the anime talks it out on the next episode, not to mention there's also another game to care about.

Lets see....

im so confused man

1- why is no one other than yuichi suspect tenji as a traitor when it was so obvious from ep 2 that he was sus since all he did was saying somewhat horrible things to others.

2- are they in first year or what because Their friendships are lowkey fake considering how they reacted to some of the secrets, while i understand they are shocked but why is no one trying to smooth the situation or anything, it seems like some of them dont care lol. thats not how friends work btw

3- why is Tenji trying to ruin the friendships? yes, his main focus is on sawaragi but u couldve done it without participating tomodachi game. How dumb can u be? theres plenty of ways u could humiliate her but nooo u had to ruin others as well lol

4- why are the explanation makes me more confusing? honestly those 2 girls are annoying since all they do is just giving us expositions.

5- Why ppl saying yuichi is genius or whatever, i literally cant see it.

On a real, im not dissing the show or anything, im really confused and it will be amazing if someone help me understand this ep.

Look… I’m a manga reader. Every question or problem you just stated are all answered at one point or another, some even in the next episode. Just trust the process

It's hard to engage with this show since there was no character building before we jumped into the game and so far nothing has made me feel any tension or excitement since I don't care about any of these characters, which is made worse when we're stuck in Tenji's perspective. I guess some might grow on me as we watch their struggles but so far this feels like a better thing to read than watch cause the pacing on this without feeling engage makes me want to fall asleep.

That said I'm interested in the end of this game next episode and to see how things play out.

I honestly think the lack of character development before the game was intentional, because there's a lot of clues in this second game that lead to the conclusion that they actually aren't that close of friends at all. Keep in mind that they're either freshmen or sophomores in high school, so they haven't known each other for all that long. You also have to keep in mind that none of them took actual interest in learning about each others deepest insecurities or secrets and that they aren't accepting of each others secrets. For example, when Shibe and Yutori get their secrets exposed, the rest of the group shuns them and stops talking to them. A real friend wouldn't care if you had problems like Yutori does, because that's a part of being human, and even though your friends might do bad things to themselves or others, that doesn't mean you stop supporting them or trying to lift them up out of a bad place in life.

This leads me to Yuichi himself, and I'd like to add that it's becoming increasingly clear that he isn't actually friends with any of these people. He continually supports Shibe, Yutori, and Shiho despite the fact that they clearly have never taken the time to actually know him as a person. Just think about it for a minute, what do these "friends" supposedly know about Yuichi as a person? Absolutely nothing. It's this fact that leads me to believe that Yuichi was just manipulating everyone else by being nice to them in order to gang up on Tenji, someone who was hostile and accusatory from the start. As a result, when you look closer at the last few episodes, it's obvious that Yuichi hates all of these people, and is testing everyone else to see who really is a "true friend" at the end of these each round of the Tomodachi Game.

I'd also like to guess the 3 traps set by Yuichi:

1) When Tenji goes into the Booth to write a bad mouth about himself, and Yuichi tells the others that Tenji wrote all the serious rumors, resulting in the Slapping scene being staged. This trap is what gets Tenji to believe that no one suspects him, and has him believe that Yuichi is just a "nice" guy that doesn't have the ability to compete against him.

2) When Yuichi tries to out the traitor the first time by having everyone write one rumor about themselves (except the person in the lead). Yuichi purposely misleads Tenji into a false sense of security so that when he exposes him the second time, Tenji will have his guard down and won't have time to come up with a plan to counter it.

3) I'm not sure about the third trap, but I have a feeling that his quiet demeanor for this entire second game could be a trap in and of itself. Yuichi is just a quiet guy in general, but especially so in this second game so that Tenji can't find any of his weaknesses and spread rumors about him. As a result, because Yuichi doesn't get a rumor spread about him, the others, who are isolated as a result of having their secrets exposed, are all comforted and consoled by them. This means that Yuichi was allying himself with all the people that Tenji was actively trying to isolate from one another and was screwing himself over from the very beginning.

Damn this show is good.

Im gonna be honest I saw the name tomodachi game on live chart last season and thought "what the hell" I thought it would be some bad copy of squid game but then I noticed that it was originally a manga made in like 2015 or 2016. I thought it would be a simple 6 out of 10 nothing special but since the first ep aired its been more than that. Every week it keeps getting better, the op and ed are straight fire and so far I really have no problems with it. But HOLY SHIT this last episode was insane. I was expecting some 100000+ iq play from Yuichii but no, as soon as Tenji called his bluff after his terrible hole ridden plan failed he admitted it was a bluff and that he didn't actually know who the traitor was. Then just 2 minutes later Yuichii pulled the manipulation card revealing that maybe even from the beginning of the second game Yuichii has had the hunch that Tenji was the traitor. And using his 3 traps he proved it. I have no clue what those supposed traps may be but I certainly want to find out. Very good episode definitely succeeded my expectations.

This show actually becomes a little better (the start was just atrocious), I am glad the pacing is a little bit slower. Looks like they are not going to adapt everything shown in OP. I wish the tension and suspense were there too (like in Death Note or Kaiji), maybe play with camera angles and effects a lil bit but again, a lot of people would have called it "childish" and "cringe" :/ Yuuichi' face could have been darwn a little bit better, make it even more mad. This is The Moment.

And I hope NOW people see that Tenji's motivation goes "a little bit" beyond "being a simp"?

Bro they already stated the rules pretty clear.
But yeah, they are tricky and confusing per se:
-The game ends when anyone (X) reach the goal.
-When it happens, everyone receives 400K.
-Ppl who fail to reach the goal (Y) receive additional 1M.
-Every X have to shoulder all debts (Everyone's) occured in the second game and are forced to participate the 3rd game.
-Every Y can opt to proceed the 3rd game or simply take a break from it.
So, the rules don't really have definition for winner and loser (Unlike 1st game, no matter what happen, they'll clear 2nd game anyway) but by nature, there actually are.
-X are pretty screwed for being coerced to join 3rd game and get a potential huge sum of debt minus 400K only.
-Y, well, big win for them we can say, gain 1.4M and the opportunity to be free from the stress for a while.

Finally Yuichi exposed Tenji. It took a long time (and I’m sure they will explain why), but that won’t change the fact that they wasted so much time pretending that Tenji stumped everyone. Never for 1 second did I believe that Yuichi didn’t have a plan. I just had to wait 4 episodes to see it actually happen.

Am I still entertained by this show? Yes. But there are flaws beyond the animation still holding this show back.

uhhh they're really dragging things out. i guess the next episode will FINALLY be the conclusion to this game and the backstory, and end with the meeting between the two groups.
honestly can't wait for anime-onlys who hate Tenji to realize how wrong they are next episode.

Edit: though considering the slowass pacing, the backstory might have to wait till next next episode. So i guess all we're getting next eps is the conclusion and that smooch.

I think my brain stops paying attention every time Tsukino speaks. She feels like a Leronira wannabe.

So, the audience knows the traitor, and so does Yuuichi, and probably everyone too. This would have been a good time to explain Yuuichi's plan instead of wasting our time by having everyone act clueless.

I hope the explanation is actually something good, and not a disappointment like the first game.

I did like it when Tenji wanted to take advantage of Yuuichi's kindness, but gets threatened by him instead. Not because of how the scene was written. I just have a personal hatred for manipulators.

I still don't like the characters' sudden personality switches. Feels like the writers are not sure what their personalities are exactly supposed to be like, and so are switching between whatever archetype they want in any given moment. I think Liar Game does a better job in this part too even though that story is not about the characters at all. And, so does Death Note in its earlier half.

Edit: I just got curious, and looked at this chapter in the manga. I was shocked to see that it was actually done quite well! lol. It didn't have a lot of the problems that I had with the anime.

It'd be very interesting if Tomodachi Game is actually a game that fix a broken relationship, not destroy it, considering that those relationships are fake even before enter the game. And after playing the game, everyone will know the true nature of their friends, thus end up trusting them even more, just like one like to trust a known dangerous instead of trust an unknown.

Anyway, regarding the second game, I think one of the trick has a thing to do with the 3 minutes rule that you can't get out of the ballot, so you don't know if others are secretly discuss something.

So this is Group C, from the OP it look like another group is also playing, I'm interest in that group more because it has more hot guys.

That’s actually a really interesting idea, and I could definitely see the series ending (in later seasons) with the group ending up as closer friends than ever.

Loved this although it did finish way too quickly and now I can't wait for next week.

I'm interested to know just what Shiho has done to Tenji to make him as nuts as he is, he hints at it a lot this episode. I've got a feeling it'll be something totally normal but he made a big thing of it cause Tenji honestly seems just a little crazy by default.

I hope he worms his way out of the situation though cause the show won't be the same without him. He's crazy but he is massively entertaining lol

I'm loving Tomodachi Game more than I thought I would, it's so fun.

I'm assuming when shibe was accused of killing someone, that was yuuichi testing how they determine liars. Also not sure if it's an animation error but where did the girl's nametags go? Speaking of animation errors though. The damn lying rule is mistranslated in episode 2 when they show us. It says the liar goes back to the start. Given that the lying rule is clearly vital to this game, it's pretty inexcusable to mistranslate it. In episode 5 it clearly states liars go one space ahead of the lead player. It's pretty annoying if I'm trying to logic my way through things and then run into errors on the writing side. Makes it feel pointless to think about stuff. OF course, just the fact that they agreed to play the game in the first place already broke my suspension of disbelief. Everyone worried about debt and friendship instead of being terrified for their lives. Also, how did anyone even find out about tomodachi game to apply in the first place. Could they have debt from a previous round or something?
