The episode started out with Domas flashback. Ofc he would doing something nasty, especially when Daida already said something about assassination, and him talking about the absolute order. But to expect him doin it right on the very end of the episode, and after all the little help he did through the episode to veil his true intention. Yeah, you keep crying there, swordman. Ranking of King plot opened, and progress steadily. Daida on the 90th place, obv duh. Bosse could be the first place if the assignment only looking for the strength alone. There's a God reward for the King that got the first place, but the consequence kinda make the place itself as mysterious as the current first rank owner. Idk who the hell that mysterious person with the crown on his head. But i do wonder if he's really the king of those forest and what about his ranking. Though Daida keep being an ass person, even though there's clear his dream telling something about Bojji being his guardian. But his ambition to be better than his older brother alone forced him to deny the dream and following the wish of the Magic Mirror. Idk what kind of consequence Daida get there, and what about Bojji, and then Kage. Ousama Ranking keep being an attractive show to me, no matter what an ass person write about this. |

The journey was way too fast, just building ideas in top of each other without leaving a trace of interesting characterization (Why would they use that flashback in the tomb?). The abuse of backgrounds to provoke a guided emotional reaction is getting out of hand imo. At least the episode left some good interrogatives about what is happening next. The show tries way too hard to do this "gray" characters, by my perspective Yep it's going super fast for sure. Don't think it's the show's fault, this needs to be a 2-cour or something |

The sequences with the derelict king (which I assume managed to climb up to the first rank of the titular competition in the past) and the quick glimpses at Bojji's journey were the best. Furthermore this series is slowly building up a good encyclopedia of fantasy beasts, especially with that creature re-birthing passed souls into the world. |

For me this was another great episode. We had some nice world building. We got to see a bit more about the "Rankings" and it's history of producing "mad" kings. We met a sage and learned about how death and resurrection works in this world- this part made me think of Studio Ghibli's Princess Mononoke. And the ancillary characters such as Domas and Hokuro were developed a bit more through their respective backstories. Nothing too big, just slight touches here and there. As usual, I can't wait for Thursday to roll around again. |

It's interesting to see the reactions of the people that gathered here. So far the story seems extremely predictable and transparent to me, but apparently I'm in the minority here, as seems most folks haven't understood what's going on. This is surprising to me, hence, interesting. It shows how well the show is implementing this narrative. Particularly, seems most are misunderstanding a few characters:
Don't think there's been a twist to this story yet, though I suppose if you didn't read the signs, some outcomes might come across as surprising. I've seen all this play out already, in one variation of this story or another, but I think they are doing it wonderfully here. A mute/deaf hero is extremely original, and although a bit of a likeability cheat, it's a solid choice for an interesting MC. So far Bojji has demonstrated resourcefulness that befits his status as a trained prince and his condition both, and that's excellent characterisation. In fact, despite cliched motivations and stereotypical personalities, every character has been very well developed - so much most people are misunderstanding them. That's depth and that's great storytelling. Boijji's strength is clearly his capacity to read people and empathise with them, as well as his undefeatable sense of determination. A true king is not determined by his fighting skills, but by his talent for attracting talented people and inspiring loyalty. And for governing people. Boijji excels at those, he's just a bit too naive yet (but nothing that some sensible allies can't compensate for). |

I like to add that Daida's appearance matches his ideal notion of a king. His aura during their spar even reminded him of Bosse. What's more is that his way of fighting inspired feelings in him, feelings that resonated with the swordsmaster(an essential part of his identity, therefore he gotta take pride in it). Considering that I wouldn't put it past Domas that he was partially driven by selfishness as well. The prospect of serving Daida must seem more fulfilling. From that angle he seems even more interesting. |

A good episode but probably the worst one so far. It really all comes down to that the pace was too fast. Everything that was shown was well done. From the character writing fleshing out Domas, Daida, and Bojji more, to the extensive worldbuilding with the ranking system and seeing the world during Bojji’s journey. But giving some more time to stay in those new areas to breathe in the atmosphere would have gone a long way to entice increased investment into the series. I hope it slows down a bit next episode. |

Just started watching this series today, and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised. I just dismissed this as some childish kiddy story but this is really good. Another pretty good episode but I'm not really a fan of this fast pacing. Lots of world-building to take in at once. Anyways, Domas betraying Bojji wasn't a surprise given all the hints we got but I liked the way in how his character was fleshed out at the beginning of the episode. And as many others already stated here, I also think Bojji was being protected by Kage since his journey began. Retrieving Bojji's bag; throwing a pebble at him; the knives that actually prevented Bojji from eating food previously poisoned by Domas; etc. |

Domas's flashback with handling Bojji, and sign language is part of the learning journey. So cute and nice though. Don't you just love it when Bojji can do actions without speaking words? The key of assassinating Prince Bojji, if it isn't as clear as day, as much as Daida is getting all the foreshadowing from his evil Magic Mirror, he wants to earn it the genuine way. In most particular, the "Ranking" committee being the first thing of note, that's gonna be very prevalent in the future, and Daida being marked down to 90th place is just brutal. The journey with Hokuro and Domas of many creatures, traps and pitfalls, and also meeting this desolate king who taught Bojji all about sacrifices, it's such a weird innuendo of feelings abundant. The final minutes felt like a string of feelings nonchalant with Domas and Bebin's disappearance being sucked into the abyss, that must've been Kage and his Shadow Clan . If the fox and her kits aren't an indication enough, then Bojji getting pushed into the Gates Of Hell by Domas is just the perfect assassination plot waiting to happen. Try as Domas might, he's just a villain with no morale while wallowing in his own actions. Despite the fast pacing of the show (because the manga is quite short and with the anime adaptation already surpassing it), still likening to see where this will go. |

Yet another roller-coaster emotion episode of laughing and crying. Each episode is a masterpiece of its own. From first episode until now, I've learned how pure Bojji's heart is.. And with that there are many people who love and adore him. Some whom I thought were initially foes, turned out to be friends.. And some whom I thought were friends turned out to be not really friends. From the moment Domas had that duel with Daida, my hurt staring to ache for Bojji. Because there's nothing more painful than betrayal from people whom you trust so dearly *sniffs* But on the other hand, I believe they all adore Bojji.. Even Daida. It's just circumstances and evil being or whatever which influence them to do what they did to Bojji. |

I'm so out of shape, I can barely do even 20 straight push ups no joke Anyway, that ending. I thought they were going to go for the typical "SIKE, you thought" moment. It looks like Domas is going to push him in, but you know he's actually going to pull him back a bit so he doesn't fall in. BUT NOPE, he shoves the poor guy into the fiery pits of hell. Damn. They're not playing around. You guys who were saying Domas was mad sus, well, you've been proven right. The poison that killed those foxes probably was never in the knives in the first place. Bebin, or whoever it was, was probably trying to save Bojji. But I'm sure there's more the story. That's one reason why this anime has been so good, it's intriguing, luring you in with mystery. Was Domas being coerced? What's going on behind the scenes? Who's allegiance lies with whom? This is some GOT (early seasons) level of writing if I might be so bold. It's written in a way to intrigue you, and for me, it's really working so far. |

This episode's pacing felt so much faster than the previous ones. Hope there would be more world-building in the future episodes, since that's the main reason why I love the "adventure" genre so much. But still a great episode nonetheless. Bojji's expressions and gestures were on point, they never fail to make me laugh. It's obvious someone - most likely, Kage - is following Bojji around and protecting him whenever he wanders off on his own. The bag magically re-appearing out of nowhere is a dead giveaway. The monster-spitting-animal scene felt so bizarre, wonder what that's about. Domas pushing Bojji wasn't a surprise to me, I was bracing myself for it to happen when the two were walking towards the flame hole. Damn you, Domas. His ethics and priorities are messed up. But a very interesting development, I'm definitely looking forward to next week's episode. |

The guy who taught main guy sword but prefers king is worried about main guy's nature to not take responsibility because he as an underling cannot do anything but to obey. His bag later found, but main guy fell and met an old man w. a crown. he is learning from him. but old man wanting to make him sacrifice? He ran away and met his bodyguards. Danger is not gone, though. Foxes dead, from the attack. Then there's place w. name hell? That guy pushed main guy to the hole w. fire, though. King seeing vision given by magic mirror. Pretty sure the Mirror will manifest at some point with a body that has the appearance of Daida, and will try to steal the throne by killing him. Finally, the queen won't last very much longer, as she was depicted as the "good" advisor of Daida, and the Miror (which he chose to follow) as the "bad" one. The dream with the choice to make was there to show which path Daida wants to take (the dark one). I don't think she'll die, but she'll probably get emprisoned. 10/10 dont forget, Kage maybe the one that retrieve Bojji's bag |

Idk... unlike last episodes this feels so fast-paced for me, but still decent as always. I think we all know that Domas isn't trustworthy at all, even Kage said it from the start. Im sure Domas genuinely cares about Bojji tho but he is like Queen Hilling, already in the perspective "oh this guy is just weak and no good" and he said that he must obey his (superior) order no matter what, he might be the one wants to assasinate Bojji from the beginning. Answered Bebin & Kage moment too, Kage might actually never left, he made deals with Bebin to protect Bojji from behind thus the Bebin's weapon. Everyone is actually a reasonable people in a way, i don't hate anyone (yet) can't wait for next eps. |

imo Bebin obviously asked Kage to protect Bojji from the shadows. Kage retrieved Bojji's bag, and saved him from the poisoned meat. So I expect somehow Kage will find a way to save Bojji from the underworld, too. anyway, I haven't liked Domas at all since the second episode. Forcing Bojji to fight "honorably" was reprehensible. but the episode does a good job psyching you into thinking maybe he's not such a bad guy, and then...no. He is. He sucks ass. Hell, Daida is more reasonable than him. also Daida's dream was pretty cool, because we see that Daida is aware of Bojji's greatest strength - he just doesn't give up. It's a quality Daida envies and fears, and what ultimately drives him to cheating his way to greater power. not sure what the crazy hunter scene was about |

Fantastic episode! I like that we got to know more about Domas before he, you know. As we've seen with his conversation with Hokuro about following orders, that was the kind of man he is. He will follow any order from superiors even if it's against his own beliefs, a man of duty. That meat he gave Bojji was definitely poisoned by him, not by the knives. And it was probably Kage that threw the knives not Bebin, this is what we can presume the mission Bebin gave Kage is, protecting Bojji. I like how the character have layers, even Daida. Daida is definitely not a bad guy deep down, but he is being manipulated by the mirror. He wanted to use his own power for the ranking of kings, so the mirror is like "we can't have that shit" so the mirror showed him that dream. That king in the forest and that gigantic blob that eats the souls of the dead animals and then shits out new animals was really fucking interesting. The king must be one of those missing crazy kings after obtaining a divine treasure. Honestly, the pacing didn't bother me, I think it worked pretty well for this episode. |

Characters in this show are walking contradictions. Hilling who was initially depicted as your usual evil step-mother character turns out to be a wholesome and caring mother to Bojji. And now Domas who was seemingly a supportive teacher for Bojji turns out to be a betraying bast*rd. Or is he....? Now, there was one clear clue about Domas motives when he was talking to Hokuro about "orders". Domas is willing to comply with any order given to him by his superiors. After he pushed Bojji to the hell hole, he broke down as he remembered his memories with Bojji. I think we can safely assume it's his order given by whoever has given him that order (Daida?). The question now is about Bebin and Kage. Snakes are often depicted as an act of betrayal, deceit, or many other bad terms about them. But in this show, the big three-headed snake owed Bojji their life and they also say to Bojji that he has many allies. Domas is given an order to assassinate Bojji, presumably using any ways possible including the meat he offered at the campfire. Therefore, the poison wasn't actually from the knife, but rather from the meat itself. Who threw the knife? Domas assumed it could be Bebin since Domas knows Bebin's knife. Therefore Bebin (and probably Kage too) is helping Bojji from the shadow. The final question is about Apeas, the spear guy. Now, is he truly a good guy who supports Bojji? It's clear now that Apeas wanted Bojji to be the king, but for what reason? We still don't know. It's getting interesting. |
