| Looking at the spoilers, I feel like the author purposefully made the ending bad. It doesn't make sense how his writing would degrade so much otherwise. |

| anime only opinion: i was already annoyed at this Central arc just because, as a restaurant owner, the idea of the bad guy being a dictator of a COOKING SCHOOL and his motive/end game for world domination is incredibly stupid but then i have to keep reminding myself that this is a shonen i dont even wanna know how bad the next unnecessary arc is gonna be like after hearing horror stories about it and that one character everybody hates so much that they pray for anime original content |

| first 3 seasons werer great. The train arc could've been an OVA cause it is such utter trash. |

| For me, shit hit the fan after the tournament arc. After that arc onwards, Shokugeki no Soma's legacy ended. Everything that made it different from other shounen mangas was just thrown down the drain. The current arc that is being adapted is the most tolerable out of all the other arcs that is to come. The bigger it is, the harder it falls. People expected too much from it and now that it didn't meet their expectations, it's getting more negative reception than needed. |

| What I find a bit weird is that this season has a lower score than the previous one (Tootsuki Ressha-hen) when imo the previous one was the "worst" (still okay) and here because of the nice finale it got a bit better. (Not taking into account single OVA episodes which always get scored lower usually.) Did the people that don't like the last arc in the manga (looking forward to that one ... since I don't know the manga and I'm curious) give low scores in expectation that the last arc might get adapted with this season as well? :D I guess the guy at the end of episode 12 here will be the end boss / main rival of the last arc? |

A lot of people on the first page are saying that the manga lost popularity after this arc, but that's simply not true. The manga lost popularity right after the MOON FESTIVAL. You can search the manga sales. It peaked way, way, way back in terms of popularity and sales. Do you guys realize how long ago the Moon Festival was? Since then it was downhill. |

This is also the graph I went to research before the Fourth Plate aired. This Azami arc was not bad in my eyes, but the manga did lose popularity once this arc began. Anyone saying this is the calm before the storm is just simply incorrect. The drop from 45,000 copies sold to 24,500 copies is an incredibly drastic fall. There is no way to spin it. This arc that just happened lost a ton of readers. |
