Cucked by the cliffhanger ending. Of course I knew it had to be done because they're saving everything for the finale, but still.

Why does everyone seem to think Natsume was in love with Haruto? She had a crush on him, that's it. Their relationship throughout high school was never shown save for the fact that they were classmates in their final year. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the first time she'd spoken to him on a deeper level than simply being friends at school.

Her flashback with Izumi is a sign to me that if he hadn't moved away, they might have become closer and she would have gotten over her infatuation with Haruto. But since Izumi was out of the picture it has lingered all tbis time.

As for how it all ends, I sincerely hope they don't follow the proposed novel ending because that is just cancer.

Yes, but Natsume was always into Haruto since day one, and suddenly just changed her mind. There is nothing less interesting than chasing a girl who chases another man. Komiya ftw.

true on that but that was one sided chasing same like what Eita thinks he's doing for Natsume right now.

all in all its a great show. the ending is expected. but I am more curious to see if they do time travel at the end like in Tsuki ga Kirei or not.

But isn't Mio's university super lightweight compared to the hardcore one he got a recommendation into? Based on his grades he should have aced that.

I really wonder how this will end now that apparently the three of them passed/got a price, I don't know how the system for entry to an university works in Japan, but for the way it is shown, If Eita passes the exam his recommendation would be nulled? or can he decide which one to take, allowing them to end up in the same university (Joei).

Apparently Japan doesn't let all of their citizens enter University, only about half of the students are eligible which made their entries very competitive.
That's means you have your list for the university you wanted according to your priority, and if you are accepted to the first in the list, others are null, if not, pass to the next one, and so on. (Maximum 3s)
It's not a common practice in Euro n US, but quite common in Asia

I am considering... Is that intersting watching some youngsters studyng and doing exams? If it is why I am not in an university watching in real like?

Ok, enough. Its only wha I thought after watching this one only motivated to the confession and if they pass the exam. Courious about that will happen next episode.

I might be retarded and not understanding it out of context, but it is the university choice on how to draw "QUOTA" on students. The university I have entered decided that everyone who got ~40 points would be accepted. They would not accept thousand of 20 points, but two hundred of 40-80 points. The other, considerably less prestigious university accepted all applicants weeks before the cancelled exam everyone was supposedly preparing for. And the country which hosts the universities is Czech Republic. I can not see how it would have been an issue anywhere else. They choose their own way of enrollment and they enforce it. Saying "Japan", meaning the system as a whole, in this case, if anything, is misleading.

Him failing would honestly make sense in this context. He still has the recommendation for the other one and the Mio enrolled as well. If I am not mistaking stuff, they would still end together in the one university. He is still ending with Komiya, though.

You know what: the "virtual conversation" recap which Eita and Mio had during their univ. exam taking reminded me of the infamous and deplorable ending of SukaSuka anime. Hopefully that's just a coincidence, because I've never encountered anything more tragic and evil than Kutori's demise.

( I really don't know what's gotten into Japan? Considering their super low birth rate, officially ~1.42 but rumored to be ~1.29 for real, shouldn't the government mandate that every single anime, manga and LN must end with a lavish wedding, the couple living happily ever after and producing a bucketful of kids to set an example for the real world?

In contrast japanese animation, as currently observed, appears hell-bent on convincing boys to cohabitate with hug pillows for life and girls to choose cats over men, since any boy meets girl scenario can only end with sadness and loss or outright tragedy. Of course it's hard to sell 7K yen loli figurines and ecchi BD to family guys, so the business logic makes sense, but anime industry is effectively helping to depopulate Japan. They should be escorted to Tokyo Bay en masse and shot into the water, sans the Tsuki ga Kirei crew, of course. )

That is right but I dunno about Ena, she seems like she won the competition but still gonna get the short end of the stick, apart from her club being saved.

If Eita passed then they go to different schools and Ena would be 100% game.

If Eita failed then it's the same school as Mio but then Ena has 0% chance since confessions will happen from both him and Mio.

No because when you shove crap into art it dilutes it. Furthermore, ultimately, the decent stuff would lead those filthie Japs to understanding the importance of family. Now take a look at other half of the season. The stuff that gets most views (at least outside the Japanese viewing sites) can not be called decent unless you are profoundly insane. Now analyze and recon where does most of new Japanese generation take inspiration.

Honestly...as much as I want this to be a happy ending for everyone, it's pretty obvious who Izumi will end up with WITHOUT even completely understanding whether Izumi passed or not...

My reasoning behind the ending that I predict:

For the past few episodes, we were able to see Komiya's love from her perspective...not particularly in this episode, but we see when she realizes her love for him. We see her gradually being drawn towards him and his existence begins to give her happiness and she longs for him. Yet, while she clearly has the courage to confess and makes her feelings very obvious, she does not have the courage to accept his response so it seems like she uses this photography competition as a source of hope. Yes, her love for him is obvious but also the dedication she shows by going to all those shrines--it shows how much she cares about him. When Komiya ends up giving him obligatory chocolate, instead, and deletes the photo, with a heartfelt apology for what she did to him, it shows how much she does not want to hurt him and wants him to be happy in the end. From our point of view makes it seem like the two were meant for one another, yet it is a dream, and the reality is that Izumi and Natsume both like one another.

Komiya becomes aware of this dream she has been living yet pursues and holds onto winning the photography competition as a goal. In this episode she is positive that he will pass his exams which is puzzling since she both wants to confess her feelings and wants him to pass which seem contradictory. In the end, she has a goal to save the photography club and in the end, her goal of having him reciprocate her love was never something that drove her. Her actions, her love, were all wishing for his happiness and his success. Of course in the beginning, Komiya secretly longed for there to be another ending, but I honestly think that she wants to confess just to show how much she admires and appreciates how he has impacted her. Due to her personality, and understandably wishing for a happy ending for herself, she may still hold onto hope, but I believe that in the end she is content with his happiness. It is absolutely heartbreaking, but I believe this ending will be true to what kind of character she is and will definitely show what kind of loving person is.

This is why I definitely think in the next episode, Natsume is going to confess to him no matter the outcome and the two will end up together. Komiya will confess, but in the end her feelings can never change the feelings Izumi and Natsume have for one another. Even when we look in the opening, we see Komiya admiring Izumi from a far, capturing high school memories and not really being a part of them. It honestly breaks my heart that she has been an observer and has no place to belong, but capturing other people's happiness is something she has always been doing. It would not surprise me if seeing Izumi's smile from a distance with Natsume will honestly be a great source of happiness for her, since this is the kind of character she is. I don't want to accept this kind of ending, but I believe it reflects reality which is what this show has been trying to reflect.

Pretty tense episode. Unsure whether or not Eita passed. That smile was a little strange. I wish I knew whether or not the recommendation holds up even if he passes his test. Assuming it does, Mio wins every time.

Passes -> confesses to Mio -> realizes she changed schools -> accept the still active recommendation -> Rip Ena.

Fails -> doesn't confess -> Mio still confesses -> realized she changed schools -> accept recommendation -> Rip Ena.

I don't think Ena can say anything to stop this, but if he did pass and his recommendation is no longer acceptable, then Eita and Mio will be separated -> victory for the best girl.

Suddenly, Natsume-oriented episode out of nowhere... it feels bit forced this late into the game (with no real build-up between them before, just constant awkwardness) and I kinda fear where this is all going.

Dunno what Ena's face in the gallery should meant but Eita's smile probably means he was admitted too. Now to obvious confess to Mio and reject Ena I guess... or maybe not?

Either this series tries to stay true with life, providing us big life lesson how the love and chemistry really works and Komiya wins or it will stay idealistic, going with predetermination, bounding two beings by so called red string of fate that only exists in stories and Natsume wins.

And I would honestly want to see the former for a change, it would make this series a lot more memorable and true to real life if you ask me.

Mio is certainly not best girl. It wouldnt bother me as much if she had more development and interaction with Eita instead of spending the last 5 episodes looking like a sadsack.

They kept up with the going to each others colleges by the way of secrets bit, but thankfully Haruto and Hazuki figured it out before it's too late! Now they can clear up this misunderstanding and... oh... they're not doing anything. What fantastic friends.

Also, the little back and forth with Izumi's and Natsume's lines to each other during the exam reminded me how little chemistry the two have with each other. If it wasn't for them claiming to like each other over and over, I wouldn't even think the two of them were acquaintances in the same social circle.

Onward to the finale, at this point I'm sure there's a solid 5% chance I won't be disappointed.

I also think it is totally possibly that Eita failed. The show has not actually showed that he was accepted and it would not be out of his character to smirk after finding out that his choice to follow Natsume went wrong. Also, it would be a good twist.

We've seen scenes in this anime that brought us some kind of confusion and they left explanations for later episodes, so I guess Eita's situation is pretty ambiguous here on porpose . Can't wait to see what's next, but the only thing I'm sure is : shit is going to get dramatic.

Haruto and Izumi's convo this episode hints that Izumi will go full retard and be like: "hey Mio, I heard from Haruto that Morikawa is being really an indecisive selfish bitch, so go do your best I'll root for you"

Ayy lmao

And he'll go for Komiya. Everybody's happy. Komiya ftw

Izumi probably made a bet with himself. If he passes, he will confess to natsume and if he fails, he will give up all together. This wager concept has been a prominent thing in the show after all. My guess is that Izumi fails the entrance exam, and the smirk signifies izumi giving up. But that being said, natsume and izumi will still end up together after natsume confesses.

Great Episode .. It is really funny what both Mio and Eita did by changing universities secretly, now I am curious about what will happen in the last ep. I am sure they will be together, but the question is: how? There are 2 possibilities for me: One is that Eita actually failed. The other one is that he switch universities (if possible) after knowing about Mio's change. I can't wait till the final episode

after this episode i got mix felling
my prediction the ending will become separate ways between them just like Byousoku 5 Centimeter and several years later the heroine will run into eita friends who will visit him in tokyo next episode.

i read somewhere , before this project announcement the committee production have a plan to make something different than u usual romance animu.

= the story about love that will never be revealed "just because" of lack of communication =
well like japaneese ppl so stiff

I hope I'm wrong

If this is a Harem anime, Morikawa would like Eita instead of accepting Souma's affection, lol : D

We need more animes like this, and Blend S, and Gamers! where a second male main cast gets his own girl.
I am someone that would like to watch a Harem Anime with 2 male leads that each gets their own harem company of girls from the main cast. For example, 1st male lead gets a company of 4 girls and 2nd male lead gets 2-3 girls etc.

I'm glad that Mio and Morikawa had another chance to talk with each other. It makes me happy to see those two get along.

Looks like this episode is exam day. Am I the only one thinking that Eita failed on his exam? Although the recommendation he got is better than the one he took, which doesn't really make sense, but things may go unexpected. Seeing Mio and Ena's reaction, I'm glad that both of them made it.

I'm hoping that Mio and Eita would end up in the same university. Looking forward to the last episode. #TeamNatsume for me hehe.
