| Song was good, but not sure why they used it there, felt a bit pointless. Was about to say this was directed much better than the initial battle when the Hakuji death scene struck, which was absolutely hilarious. Unfortunate. But still, good episode overall. |
| I had high hopes for this anime at the start but the pacing has been so off I'm thinking of dropping it which is a shame. I think we all hoped for better as I see so many comments of people watching this but not enjoying it lol I'm just going to read up on the manga instead of watching |

| I guess I'll give the kids a pass, since they're taught not to use violence and haven't seen it. But at the same time, did the adults not tell them how serious this is? That people are dying and not coming back, including their family? Also, just in general, it feels like not many people are taking this situation nearly as seriously as they should. Then there were those two soldiers that just let an injured old man push them off a building. And where were their bodies?? Just a lot of small tidbits like this makes it hard for me to really get into the show. |

Instead of being intrigued by a villain I'm just rooting for characters like these to die but they usually get a lot of screentime killing people and laughing about it.... Hope the eyepatch guy kills him quickly but it probably won't happen soon |

The best description for the show in my mind is, "Tone Deaf". | Who knew a series that looked so cute and colorful was going to end up being so Gorey and sad? All of the deaths have made me sad :( let’s see how many of them actually survive till the final episode. |

| Kinda feels odd with those children being so happy and some characters smiling but also understandable seeing that this is the first time they are fighting back (pretty good job they do there) and things are relatively going well (until the end of the ep at least). Noble sacrifice of the elder there despite his past mistakes, can't wait for Shuan to beat the hell out of that annoying pink haired bastard. |

| My ANXIETY while watching this episode was SO HIGH omg The children cheering as they were killing soldiers...I'm rooting for them of course, but at the same time, that's so haunting... Ugh, Liontari is so annoying :/ I hope there's a good battle between him and Captain (and that Captain wins)! As for the two soldiers whom Hakuji pushed off the cliff...I mean yeah, they were probably taken by surprise that the old man still could push them off after being slashed, but like...they can use Thymia to soften their landing, so I assume that's what they did...imo it's not that unbelievable that their bodies are gone... |

| Skylos's attack on the Mud Whale is in full swing now, and the infiltration force has made their way into the heart of the Skylos ship. Liontari isn't half wacko. Suou never stood a chance against him. Maybe Shuan will. Hakuji redeemed himself in the funniest way possible. The infiltration force never did suspect that they'd be walking right into a trap, did they? If it wasn't so clear, the show had to go tell us anyway. Not a big fan of insert song performances by a character, as in the lip-syncing shit. Always looks off or out of time to me. The visuals that accompanied the song was pretty nice tho. J.C Staff did a good job in that department. |

| i know that there's only ever been one season and never a second since 2017. but the pacing is quite fast. which is unfortunate as i really do like this anime, or rather the unique concept and world mechanics itself... there's one thing i'm grateful for in a show like this where everyone dies, and it's that i haven't been able to form an adequate attachment to essentially the whole cast except for very few. ouni having more favorites than chakuro and lykos as the two main mc's combined is wildly understandable. the optimistic lot all just got murked cloak-style, if i did care, that'd be bad news. it was stupidly careless of them to march on forward in front of a suspicious dead-end "wall" of fabric, capable of obscuring what lied behind it, in what they believe to be the foreign ship's nous room. this highlights the doro kujira's inhabitants' true inexperience with war and their naivety. from encountering their first siege and massacre only a week prior, stronger thymia in insufficiently trained individuals is moot... they won't notice, won't suspect. come on, they train each other with each other themselves. sheltered previous pacifists who were prohibited from using thymia against others compared to skyros' militarism culture. the awkward insert song was unexpected yet greatly welcomed for pure musicality reasons. otherwise, it wasn't executed as well as it could have been. it's not the animation. maybe it was the dance: doing the whole front and backwards clap, rolling her fists upwards. shit, i don't know lmfao. it would have hit me if the song itself played throughout a scene without ema singing it being shown for the most part. at the end... episode 16 or something if this had another cour. while it perfectly expressed the bleak tone of the current turmoil and situation at hand, i'm sure there were better opportunities to showcase that piece. someone kill ryodari... |
