| Actually a decent first episode. We haven't got a great Gundam series since 00 so I'm hoping this show will finally bring back the awesomeness of the Gundam series back. |

| holly me!! the medium of 30 minutes show really disadvantaging for an anime with sociocultural and geopolitic setting as complex as gundam. the pacing felt rushed for a first half of the time, but the second half's just right. you know, first episode is all about impression, yet it's perfect. finally, an anime that worth a discourse of its philosophical content. |

Besides, don't compare Gundam to THAT show, ever For me this was a very promising first episode, it left a much better first impression than Reconguista. |

| My kinda anime. Orga is pretty cool so far. Looks like Sunrise didn't put much budget into this though, the animation is pretty mediocre even during fight scenes. Edit: Why are so many people comparing this to a/z? Was that the only mecha anime they watched? How did that shit series get so popular to the point of it getting compared to freakin' Gundam - the all-father of mecha. |

| So far this anime had the second best premiere of the season (Utawarerumono being number one). Nice fluid animation, great voice acting (so far) and great mecha design. Damn this series has some potential.. weird saying that for a Gundam series.. And before I forget... RAISE YOUR FLAG! |

They're comparing it not because of its popularity, but because its characters, world, and genres coincide with This Gundam, the difference is the writing quality. If A/Z was made ten years ago then people would still be comparing it to this. Being compared to A/Z isn't an insult, it just shows how much better Gundam is at mecha. And let's be honest here, was there besides Gundam Origin, any good mecha anime these past two years? That's why people are comparing it to Reconguista and A/Z. |

| Definitely a good first episode. The characters and the setup are quiet interesting , the earthlings are the bad guys for the first time LOL. Orga and Biscuit are very interesting characters. The conversation between Mikazuki and Aina was quiet symbolic(really liked it.) Also Mika doesn't seem like an autistic character like Heero or Setsuna...... well he does but not to that extent. Aina looks naive but she has a strong resolve...hope she won't became the pacifist princess like Relena or Marina and accepts that to make change you have to dirty your hands. Okada is infamous for melodrama and stuff so hope Bandai and Nagai can control her imagination. Also hoping for 50 episodes. 5/5 |

| I am glad about all the set up this episode. I wish the battle animation of the Gundam Barbatos could have been just a bit more... oh well we will see more of it later. I really like the gritty side of it. Reminiscient of the Gundam 00 Seriously can't wait for more episodes. We are just into episode 1 and I feel like getting the Gunpla model kit for Barbatos already. That mace weapon is pretty cool, pretty different from our usual main gun/beam saber weapons. |

| So, Gundam is now ripping off Attack on Titan for characters or something? Mikazuki. Mikasa. Both cold, emotionless "super warriors" who easily win everything without breaking a sweat. Both cling to the main heroes and only want to defend them... So, yeah. Found that pretty distracting. Was a decent enough first episode though. Was just standard Gundam story telling and character building though, nothing new or interesting. Some people said it's a bit more serious but... well, not really. Was just very Gundam. |

| The directer/original creator would never have this as a 12/13 episodes show. It'll be 25 episodes no doubt. Especially for this type of serious gundam. As for the episode, everything I wanted. |

| The only Gundam series I've seen before this is G no Reconguista, and I'll admit that I was apprehensive about even attempting any of the others after having to drop that disaster. I'm glad I gave this a chance though because it's already significantly better in every single way. It's pretty hard to go wrong with a show about a bunch of shirtless muscly guys shooting the shit out of stuff anyway though, let's be real. |

| This episode got me more excited about a Gundam TV show than I have been in a LONG time. This is not counting BFs first episodes since those were "Gunpla" Gundam love letters and not robot Gundam war stories. I am looking forward to more. Also, I love Orga's seiyuu; he has done some great work in the Yu-Gi-Oh and Kuroko franchises. |
| I liked this episode. The political side is still a little messy, but it works well enough. There's not much to the characters yet, but Aina was a bit interesting. The action was certainly nice. Although it wasn't amazing, it still met my expectations. I'll be looking forward to this one. |

| I went in expecting the worst and ended up really enjoying it, a hell of a lot better than i was expecting and already really dig the cast so far, theres a real sense of comradery to the guys which is something ive always felt like gundam kind of lacked in its cast. Action was strong and i was surprised by the complete lack of melodrama so far given that its mari okada, all the guys acted like real soldiers which is a nice change of pace from the gundams ive watched before it. tingy said: I think aina is more of a dianna sorriel type character with her being royalty trying to understand the common people as well as attempting to bridge together two societies at war with one another, just not as strong willed as dianna was.
