lol you people talking about morally correct crap has nothing todo with verbally dressing down someone when it is well deserved. It is not right or wrong. It is just flowery and nice like what Hayama wants or hard and abrasive like Hikki went for.

In the end if you cover up shit with perfume it's still shit at the end of the day.

I love Hikki, and I wish he was real so we could be friends. I totally was with him in every way when he was telling the girl off. She deserved every word.

I hate when people lie to themselves. Everyone is always so self-indulged into themselves that they are too scared to take a step back and take a look in the mirror.

Really, all those issues with her just wanting attention I don't care for. That's just who she is. I wouldn't think less of her because of those. But she lies to herself and tries to be something better without even changing herself. That is the horrible part of it.

Hikki is better than her. He may be brutally honest, anti-social, and pretty indifferent to others' emotional trauma, but at least he knows that's who he is.

Everyone has their darker side, but those who choose to live solely in the light are the darkest of us all.

I like the OST of this episode. Especially the song Yukino and Yui wrote.

Yukino: I wanted to be like her, after all.
Hachiman: You don't have to. You're fine as you are.
^This is development.

Detective Hachiman figures out where Sagami is and tells her off! He's freakin' boss!
I know Hayato cares for Hachiman, but Hachiman's got to do what Hachiman was born to do.

That wink. It means something.
I’m always searching for something, for someone. This feeling has possessed me I think, from that day… That day when the stars came falling.

Also, I really wanted to beat the shit out of that Hayama guy, literally he's naive and he only likes to see the bright side of things.

Another great episode! Hachiman is so damn awesome--when he came to the roof, I got really pumped for another of his epic speeches, and he definitely gave Sagami exactly what she deserved. You can always count on him to lay out the harsh truth.

We se some more development between him and Yukino too. They finally get to talk about the car incident, though she avoided it rather smoothly, followed by... was that what I think it was? c: Well, Hachilman seems to be a bit ’nervous’ around her lately, which is rather impressive on it’s own considering his character. :D

And Yui bringing the share of this week’s cuteness as always.

EDIT: Wait, was this really the ending? Aw, I thought they had one more ep to add some closure. :x That’s a shame, but at least we got a hint of Hachiman and Yukino warming up to each other. Considering the feeling of this whole show, that’s an ending fine by me. This was never going to be a real romance, at least not this season.

What I felt I'm watching this just for 10min
Hikigaya Hachiman he's the modern era hero!!
Saika, Yoshiteru proud of him!!
And Poor Hachiman, he's being hated because he did the right things

This is the real ending then?
Next ep it's last episode
And it's just side story :(

game8910 said:
So we'll hate him, because he can take it. He is not a hero. He is a watchful student, a silent loner. He is Hachiman.

What you should afraid of...is the kind of people that lie to you, the kind people that give you a fail illusion. They will push you into the abyss before you even know it. That's why you should watch out for Haruno, no matter what her intention is, she is the snake. Friends like Yui, Yukino and Hachiman are so precious...

This episode is as badass as 8man is. That bitch deserved the scolding but 8man received the cold treatment instead. I would prefer harsh words thant those lies that will only make me feel better for a while. Oh well, that's the way our hero lives.. and it's awesome.

Fuck off Hayato you naive sugarcoating dipshit.

8man is probably the best MC ive seen in a long time. He tells you how it is. He has a cynical view of the world and imo it's the best one.

My sister and her crowd of friends pamper her likes she a queen, tells her what she wants to hear and i always hated that. Even when she knows she did something rude, or she's being a bitch. My parents do the same shit. It's just like soluuloi pointed it.

"Hikki is not the hero the school needs, he's the hero the school deserves."

Man, Hachiman is all about the hateful truth. Don't tell them what they want to hear, but be honest and blunt. He doesn't even care being the villain. Yukino's sister was right. A group needs someone like him to keep things running and shatter the delusions.

I can understand the hate for Hayama, but he really was, in my opinion, handling the whole situation the best way one could. I feel like there's no point for calling someone out right before that person was about to go on stage and give a few speeches. Hachiman was definitely right in what he said about Sagami, but he planted a negative seed in her right before she was about to get on stage. As a result, he just caused more problems and she was stuttering all over the place, messing up lines and other shit. But you can also argue that she would've fucked up regardless.

Really now, if you were in this same situation, would you have gone Hayama's way or Hachiman's way of dealing with it? Realistically, most likely Hayama's. What I'm trying to say is that he's not as naive and retarded as people would like to think. Foil characters are pretty cool, too!

Hachiman solution had it's merrit as it made her victim. Noone blame victim that's how it's work so ultimately he made Sagami succeed as head of commite despite (or that's how people will see it) despite his effort spoil everything, but if you ask me it wasn't worth it, so I would agree with Hayato solution as well

Hachiman sticks to his guns and told Sagami like it is. Hayama did the right thing though in trying to diffuse the situation but if Hikki hadn't have said what he did, Yukino's efforts really would have been in vain. He again takes it upon himself to take the blame. I'm glad the sensei is supporting him through this or at least recognizes it. Not that Hikki really needs it but it's nice as a audience to see someone giving him credit.

The end scene in the clubroom gave some hope for Yukino x Hikki but I'm still supporting Yui.

Thanks for the info on the novels. It's too bad that the anime has already almost caught up to the novels. This is a great story with a a lot of awesome characters. Sadly we have to wait so long for a season 2. But when it does come out ill definitely be watching.

I have high hope for the original episode coming up next.

Hachiman's direction in the way he handled the situation just tears me inside. I would have preferred if he let Sagami wreck the event, despite Yukino's plan to spare time. This was too much of a greater cost over however little reputation he had over Sagami's. Yes, while it wasn't his intention to save her's, it actually ended up that way from how I see it.

I'm glad that the cigarette was removed at the scene where Shizuka was giving credit to Hachiman's efforts. It might have just ruined the scene, if not jarring to say the least.

I know Hachiman is a breath of fresh air as far as main characters go, but people keep repeating that he tells the truth bluntly, and that's a mischaracterization of him. If you needed to make a phrase to describe Hachiman, it would not be "blunt and obvious." It would be "self-sacrificing and pragmatic."

Hachiman gets results (going outside of the truth when he needs to) and more often than not his solutions have himself as the collateral damage. Most people when faced with a problem have certain limits built in that we consider obvious or common sense; self-preservation being the big one. Hachiman has a non-normal set of constraints, and so his solutions are different. By not prioritizing himself, he can act more directly and efficiently towards a solution that others would find too costly.

Ok , so.
A few conclusions found after watching it a 2nd time .
1.Yukino refused him because she doesnt want to be friendzoned , also the discussion was intrerrupted by Yui . It's like what she is between those two , always interrupting the relationship development between those 2.
2. Shizuka have grown feelings for Hikki. She acted as a mother to Hikki . You could say it's motherly love .
3. Haruno , having experience in relationship , kinda read the relationships around Hikki . There is no sign if she has anykind of feelings for him . She just acts as a catalizator between relationships .
4. There were no "fairy tale" romance because the development is a realist one . Where in the world have you seen someone just ignore his future and headstrong to "I love you" ?
The development is a realist one . You wont see anyone suddenly change among few months . Especially when that someone likes the way he is . He will choose to change when he wills not when someone else dictates .
There are a few more but I'm too tired to write the whole wall of text.
"Love is a drug to our brain , it stops the thinking function and when you realize it wether you acomplish it or not you'll enter in one of the 3 withdrawal states : happy , sad or anger. Once this drug gets hold of you you'd better be prepaired beforehand." - Me

If you only regard the situation at hand and nothing else, namely Sagami standing on the roof and not going on stage, then yes, Hayama handled it the best he could. But Hachiman considered what would happen after that - the effects on Sagami's popularity and growth. And in the end, Hayama went along with Hachiman's scheme.

I definitely regard Hachiman's way of dealing with the situation as the better one but I wouldn't do that myself. I lack the courage to intenionally hurt a person (unless my hate switch is flipped. Then I'd be going on a verbal rampage) and get myself into the crossfire. Not to mention that there is the possibility of completely messing up and making things even worse. I'm a half-assed person so I'd rather try to stay out of the whole mess.

That does seem to be Hayama's MO: use his charm and personality to solve the immediate problem. His approach requires repetition, he solves one problem for the moment but must return when the next problem in the logical progression comes to pass. Hachiman seeks to cut the consequences off at the pass.

The really interesting point is alluded to by Shizuka in this episode: Hachiman can take his approach because, as a friendless loner, he can deal with all the consequences himself. When it occurs to him that he has friends and that his solutions create burdens for his friends, it will be interesting to see if he finally finds himself as needing to change.

Well, I already mentioned the following:

Naoki-Saten said:
Hayato's goals were completely different. He always tries to settle all conflicts and to reduce the damage as much as possible. He doesn't intend on teaching people a lesson or anything. Why should he? He would just offer Sagami some pity and a warm smile, make her finish her job and everything would be over and done with.
The problem would be solved and nobody would get hurt.

Should there still be a problem after that, he'd do the same thing he did after hachiman's speech: Try to say some good things about the 'culprit' and once again reduce the damage.
