Details that caught my attention in this episode:
1) Gojou putting/testing out the ribbon by Marin's ear when she was complaining about summer homework
2) The focus on Marin's hand as she was holding on to Gojou's clothes when he gave her a piggyback ride

I felt happy when the first scene is of him practicing his hina doll skill haha. Some time must have passed from the last episode because they are not awkward here. I actually missed seeing their school 😆 We only saw the others' POV about them in school during ep3. I wonder if there will be more chapters set in school in the manga. Would it be raised again that they are an unlikely pair - not in negative way like how Gojou wanted to avoid Marin, but would make Gojou get to know more people of his age. Like how Marin's friends were so chill last time

Summer festival for the 2nd part! It was funny how Marin got happy/flustered/surprised(?) when she realized that Gojou liked the yukata. She is so unaware of her effect on him? Is she? Is she not? Lol. The yukata pun made me laugh, and I screamed with Gojou when Marin stuck out her tongue because of the mood whiplash HAHA. Gojou looking so happy with the phrase "next year" is the wholesomest //heart squeeze meme

Ending the series with a wholesome phone call as they fall sleep. And a confession. Hello??? I really enjoyed KiseKoi! I hope another season gets greenlit for it. Meanwhile let's see how I can catch up with the manga

I'll miss this series because it seems like there isnt going to be a season 2. Well i'll just read the manga, thankfully it so happens that the anime left off at where i last read it. For those who are wondering the anime left off at chapter 39 so you can start reading from chapter 40.

Amazing work from cloverworks, i hope they continue making good shows. So that i can forget the fact that promised neverland ever existed...

Hahahah. So true tho. My guys have to play the cards sometime.

As for the episode, it was great. I mean what more can you ask for from an anime like this?

Marin sets the bar for irl women hopelessly high.

That Fireworks Scene and the Insert Song makes my heart beating.

Marin easily one of the best girls of the season.

Gojou easily one of the best boys of the season.

And all of the casts in this anime.

Anyways, Thank you My Dress-Up Darling! What a ride!

Man, what a fantastic adaptation this was. You know an anime is good shit if it immediately made you wanna read the manga at the first episode, because it did made me read the manga immediately. So I can definitely say it was a fantastic adaptation.

Bless the staff, CloverWorks really making up for their fumbles last year, because they killed it this season.

Really loved that insert song in the fireworks scene, it gave me a nostalgic feeling. I don't think a second season is coming anytime soon, since there's not enough material yet, but I am sure we'll get one in the future. 9/10

Loved every bit of it. I read the manga a while back and regularly keep up to date with it. Waited all season so I could binge it today and it was well worth the wait - they adapted it so well and the new VA for both Gojo and Marin did great. I have no qualms to address; just so happy they did the series the justice it deserved. It'll be a little bit before a sequel but the popularity that it has gained just from the anime alone tells me there's a good chance it will eventually come. I'm going to miss this a lot.

This anime is just like Horimiya, more on that in a bit.

The firework scene says it all for me. Our boy Gojou is amazed on the view he is seeing, his sparkling eyes can't believe what it's witnessing because for all his life he is just an outsider looking from afar, a man who has not experienced or truly enjoyed his youth or what it means to be a city folk. And then he looks to the girl right besides him, Marin, which is with him viewing the fireworks together. She is the reason on how he got to see the fireworks, on how he got his first true friends, on how he got to make cosplays for her and for others, on how he got to experience happiness. And just like in Horimiya, where Hori changed Miyamura's life, on how they got to meet in a random way on a regular day, I love this anime.

I cannot say and ask more, this anime is one of the bright lights in a hazy season for me. And it's impressive how they close this out by making us face Marin goodbye to Gojou, and in a way, she really speaks to us. Because just like Gojou, we got to be happy and smiling because of Marin and her shenanigans plus memorable experiences. Thank you my Dress-Up Darling, may we see each other again in the future.

The whole episode had a movie-like quality, production went all-out. The whole fireworks scene heavily reminded me of Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai and Koe no Katachi festivals, thankfully, the outcome of this one is not depressing and heartbreaking.

It felt fitting for the final episode for both Gojo and Marin to hit up one of the festivals and have a great time chatting, playing and, of course, eat as many of the stall foods as possible.

What hit me a lot here was the fireworks show. It felt almost realistic looking when the fireworks were going off and it left me with goosebumps, making me think I was watching it happen there in person. When Marin stuck out her tongue, which stopped the music and also made Gojo panic, I was laugh hard for a minute. That caught me by surprise! XD

Even their trip to school, which Marin stupidly fell into the pool and confirmed to Gojo that she can't swim, but she loved to go to the beach to enjoy the sound of the waves, was very nice and relaxing. I love how the light reflecting on the water also reflected on their faces, too.

However, I think the post-ED scene wins it for me, where Marin calls Gojo and chats with him so that she could calm herself down after watching a horror movie on her own. I love how, when she heard Gojo sleeping on his end, slipped out a "I love you" before hanging up. That was a great way to end the final episode. =)

Overall, this series deserves the big spike in popularity it got while it aired and has met the hype each time. The writing isn't groundbreaking, but it doesn't need to be in order to hit the right spots in what makes shows like this super enjoyable and My Dress Up Darling has that in spades. Same goes for the animation has a whole, which stayed at a high quality most of the time.

I think it deserves a 9/10 and I do want a second season sometime in the future, if it ever happens. =D

It was a really cute show. Kind of nice how they didn't throw in some other dudes, only Gojo. The closest thing to another dude was the worker at the clothing store.

There wasn't any shounen competition either. It was just... relaxing and hanging out. And a touch of harem.

Dilusional you are the one butthurt and salty here.like really why the fuck you still watched this whole show after episode 1.if you have so many problems with main characters bruh speacially for the both of the main lead. for whinning till the end?.fucking idiot you are litterally crying about why marin choose gojo as her aquaintance only.bruhh everyone knows that in reality the things might be different.but ppl here for this particular plot and characters.and episode 1 clearly tells that what direction that story will gonna take and you cleraly knew it.but still watched every single episode like a fucking sadistic.just for whinning like a little bi#** at the end.just stop torturing yourself and get a life if you have one.

Take a chill pill kid. Go play Fortine or whatever kids do these days to past time and blow off steam.

First of all, I can have whatever problems I want with either the script or the characters and post about it on discussion boards, I don't need permission from angry kids that need to throw a tantrum because other people don't like what they like.

Secondly, you're calling me a saddist for watching a show I didn't enjoy all the way to the end. Yet you're here yapping at me in an angry manner, in a DISCUSSION BOARD where you are obviously going to read plenty of different opinions that won't align with yours or the common opinion and more often than not more elaborate ones than your caveman slurs filled with rage because that's the only way you can communicate in a civilized discussion board. How often do you need to bark at the wrong tree because other people don't like what you like? (it's a rethorical question, you don't need to answer it).

yeah, will highlight static parts of overall a min maybe, but won't say a thing about whole Beautiful sequences, camera sequencing, post processing etc maybe try to appreciate shows more, and btw akebi was in production wise cloverworks first priority, you could see.

1. akebi
2. kisekoi
3. tokyo 24 ( which fell apart )

and I never said there was never an issue in kisekoi production. Only ep9 and another ep at the beginning maybe ep 4 or 3, had reserved production wise, also I saw you earlier comment, you clearly didn't like, and trying to nitpick everything, move on.

Beautiful sequences? That's highly subjective. There were several cuts in Sono Bisque that I personally thought were great like Gojo running up the stairs in the beach episode and a few others that escape my memory. I personally liked a lot more the ones on Akebi on general basis.

Camera Sequencing? I don't know if you're talking about sequence animation that take a long cut before switching scene, but if you are, there were a few, but I personally wouldn't call them the selling point of the series in production terms.

Post processing, I seriously didn't see anything outstanding in Sono Bisque, I personally feel that Akebi had a way superior work in the post processing department by re-renderizing the stills and adding so much detail to simple stuff like marble floors.

Edit: I hadn't watched the last episode of Akebi, and imho the finale blows out of the water any episode in Sono Bisque in production terms, even the beach episode that many pointed out that the art quality was traded for more fluid animation (something that plenty of Yuasa shows do to allow more dinamic animation). The animated cuts of Akebi dancing while Erika plays the piano/violin even though they are shorter than the ones in sono bisque, they are a hell lot more consistent in art quality, and the post processing for lighting and water effects looks sublime.

And it's seriously laughable that you recommend me to try appreciate shows more when my list of completed shows is vastly superiors to yours.

Also on a final note, I didn't like a lot of elements in the show, so what? You obviously liked a lot of them. Does that give you the right to shut down my opinion and override it with yours? That sounds what a fanboy would do. I would also suggest you to move on if you can't handle different opinions.
Bruhh you can't even answer a simple question.oh that's why i called you a dilusional.i just ask you why you still watched this whole show? after you didn't like a single thing in very first episode? you call just easily drop this and move on with your pathetic and shitty life.and you fucker clearly dodged my question regarding main male lead that i said to you.and boomer who the fuck play fortnite nowdays except you maybe.

Beautiful Fireworks Episode for the Season Finale.

Marin said the Thing!!
was hoping Gojo pretend sleeping and hear all of that.

Saturday will never be the same again, My Dress-Up Darling definitely goes beyond my expectations from the beginning.

Wholesome, Fun and Entertaining Series, CloverWorks really did a great job on this one.
Thank god they didn't speedrunning it like they did with Horimiya.

My Dress-Up Darling easily one of the best Anime from Winter 2022.
also Marin Kitagawa Best Girl from this Season as well.

hopefully we don't have wait too long for Season 2.

I'm actually glad this episode was just about Gojo and Marin, no cosplay, just them. This is a proper romance and I'm honoured to have witnessed it grow, even if our man Gojo isn't completely on board just yet haha. Sleep well, king, you deserve it. I'd like to believe you heard Marin when she finally confessed to you. You are perfect for each other.

When I first saw the previews for this show I was instantly on board. Hot gyaru doing sexy cosplay? Fuck yeah! Again, like Slow Loop, they hooked me in with a simple thing and made it even greater. So much techincal stuff was put into this, it really showed the whole cosplay deal for all that it contains, even if some of those timelines were rushed a little. And of course, Marin was every bit the best girl of the year that everyone, me included, said she would be. But it's not just because she's a good looking gyaru, she's an otaku, she's a dork, she's so laid back and friendly, and SHE WAS THE ONE TO FALL FOR THE MALE LEAD! She fell first! How often does that happen in these kinds of shows?! Also, even tho they introduced other girls they didn't treat this like a harem thing, it was obvious Marin and Gojo were destined to be together. Marin is true waifu material, and I'm totally gonna start reading the manga just to have more of her in my life.

NO SHIT THERE'S GONNA BE A SECOND SEASON OF THIS! This is one of those shows that absolutely DESERVES to get animated all the way through if possible. Doesn't matter how many seasons it takes, with the cosplay possibilities, the blossoming romance and everything else animated so beautifully, not to mention the manga absolutely exploded when the show started, Marin was the talk of the internet (for better and sometimes worse), the anime and manga are both super popular now both in Japan and especially in the West, Cloverworks and the committee behind the show would be leaving so much money on the table if they didn't keep it going. Besides, Marin Kitagawa is the kind of goddess-tier waifu that can't not be animated in stunning high definition by this team. So yes, SEASON TWO, THREE, FOUR, I DON'T CARE HOW LONG IT TAKES, it is definitely worth the investment.

9 out of 10 show. Without a doubt one of the shows of the season, if not the year. Shikimori's got a lot of work to do in Spring to be worthy.

A fitting ending, although I'm sure a lot of the fans would've wished to see the story be expanded on. I'm curious on whether there will be a season 2 as there's definitely potential for world-building etc but overall, I quite enjoyed the series although I started off a pretty big hater due to the excessive fan service. I guess I just learned to appreciate it as the series progressed. Round of applause to the writers, animators and everyone who worked on the series.

This show is definately one of the reason that kept me alive this 2022 winter season for sure. I never thought an anime would ever surpass or come near horimiya, but clover works just slapped my face saying "no." Clover works definately listened to the audiences, unlike horimiya where they literally skipped whole 50++ chapters, I think they adapted whole 39 chapters if I'm not mistaken.

Through out this season, we definately saw a lot of character development between the two main characters Kitagawa and Gojou. Not too slow, not rushed at all, just perfection. And the animation at fire works, holy- felt like I was watching a movie by Shinkai Makoto.

I almost got a heart attack when I saw ending song before they showed phone call, I thought they were going to skipp that scene, but thankfully they put it post ending. Marin, you said see you later right?! That means we're getting a second season, right?!

When I'm looking at story line, plot and all, I would say a solid 8/10, but the enjoyment came along huge.
Solid 9/10

Episode 12 was much quieter than the last, but they really pulled all they had for some pretty stunning firework scenes. The phone call at the end was also a really tasteful touch, thankfully it wasn't the cliché where someone said "I love you" right when the firework went off.

As for the season as a whole, episode 2 was still the low point for me. Not a fan of that one. Outwardly flustered Gojo moments are definitely a constant damper on any scene as well, my experience of people that are not very social but incredible talented/passionate at something tend to be able to keep their emotions under wrap extremely well. Perhaps this is partially a cultural difference? I don't know.

I do hear quite a bit of annoyance at Marin as a character, but as much as she is a weird amalgamation of character traits I feel that my immersion was never once broken. She has just enough "real" moments to tie everything together, whether that be the girl logic of swimsuit ≠ underwear or thinking someone she likes looks amazing at all times despite disagreement from everyone else around.
I'm not a lolicon, you're just projecting your tendency to lewd 2D characters.

If your favourite character is Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko, you are my soul mate.

Been a long time since I've been here, I'll continue expressing myself freely and believe everyone should too.

A cute, relaxing ending to this amazing series. Loved it to the end of the world and back. Words that I'd say describe it include cute, warm, lovely, fun, heartwarming, sweet, cute, romantic, funny, relaxing... did I say cute?

A great end if I do say so myself. Marin in that yukata was absolutely gorgeous. One of the most gorgeous people I've ever seen in a yukata in any anime. It certainly looked different from how she always looks. And that last scene was one of the cutest in the entire series.

I'm usually not a fan of any cosplay, but Marin's cosplay as that first girl in particular (forgot her name, the maid) was amazing (and the real life cosplay by Akari Akase was amazing too!).

Conclusion: diabetes. I'm overwhelmed with sugar in my veins from just how sweet and cute this series is.

It's a crime if it doesn't have a second season.

A solid 9/10.

Well, that was refreshing to watch.

I was expecting a boring waifu bait series, but this series did not disappoint. Also, weeb characters (like in Wotakoi) are fun to watch. I didn't like much of the unnecessary fan service though.

Overall, a 6.5. May have gotten a 7 if it weren't for the fan service. Plus, it's rather generic.

And yeah, here come all the kids complaining that they didn't kiss at the end.

I completely agree man. If this anime switched Marin with a basic looking girl, half these horny self inserts won’t even watch the anime 😂 It’s a introverted teenage boy’s dream to pull a girl like Kitagawa so I guess Doll gives them hope. It had some wholesome moments but overall a very generic but well produced anime in terms of animation and music. 7/10 at best ✌️
