Rudeus and Norn reconciled sort of. Rudeus remembered his shut-in days and regrets not knowing his older brother's feelings back then. A self reflection episode more or less.

impressed by the maturity of norn. happy for her. wish she starts interacting more with rudy in imouto-like and childish way. need some episode where they both are bonding ver something or rudy is teaching some magic or something.

the trip to past into the psyche of old rudy was well done. rudy was finally able to understand the whole ordeal from the perspective of both the sides. it took rudy 15+ years to do so and norn did it in a few weeks time. really says something about norn. maybe rough bringing up with the teleportation and stuff helped her grow and mature faster than others.

good for her. everything's fixed.

reading the next episode title is making me anxious af. fuckkkk

I like that we got Norn's thoughts before her and Rudy made up. Aside from Sylphie, I can't recall the series giving any other side character's internal thoughts.
@AnimeNerd99 They gave nearly a whole episode to Roxy in Episode 18 of Season 1 visiting her home, the Migurd Village after so long and feeling ostracized and uncomfortable there.

Why didnt the series just go like this? Why did it have to force creepy and ecchi moments all over it yet it can be so good with none of that?

There’s actually no reason to empathize with Norn tbh. So they could go and try and write all kinds of familiar scenarios saying how much her current self matches with that of Rudeus’ past self, or how much is she suffering just because people are kind of complementing or comparing her with her “virtuoso” brother. This is absolutely no reason to hate someone lol.

She was being an absolute nuisance just because the author wanted so. She hates her and people just can’t stop talking about him, so of course getting yourself shut inside your room is the only course of option there is right? It isn’t like Rudeus did anything different from what he was doing from the time she arrived here, but just because we watched her flashback and got to know life is hard even for kids, things went normal… as simple as that lol.
@Softhenic03 Is it just me, because I feel like you are trying real hard, like REAL HARD to keep this just as a passing 'story' and nothing more in your head by pushing it farther and farther away. By involving a 3rd party into it (author) and pushing everything else away. Because, I was able to relate. Very much so, even though I haven't gone through even 10% of any of that

@dev-737 Ive been commenting on other posts regarding this anime and been observing that they just dont like the series straight up, so some claims like that made are clearly from their own perspective solely through intentionally distancing themselves. It's their opinion so won't berate them much for that but they are intentionally discrediting the author and characters like that for a while with forced reasoning that does not necessarily apply to a lot of people watching this. Yes people do hate others for complexes like what Norn experienced. Way too many from people I know and posts that are there online.

I was actually on the fence on whether I liked this episode or not. It turned more to 'like' when Norn sorted out her feelings, and didn't go full depressed, and angry mode. It was also an enlightening experience for Rudeus. However, had he done what Norn did, then we wouldn't be getting this anime. The action should pick up soon though.

This episode I got carried away, after all I have a younger sister. If I see how problems like this, then I won't run away from it either.
Rudeus' development, seeing his past and realizing every emotion in himself, led to him having to face himself too.
Of course, this further strengthens how Rudeus' emotions are maturing in response to something.
Eventually, he learned a lesson from the incident.

I also got a lesson from this, not much but enough to be used as a lesson.

Well, how about it ... honestly I was quite sad in this episode, especially in the part where Rudeus was talking to Norn, I was really sad there. Then, in the part where Rudeus remembers his past life and remembers his brother who tried to persuade him not to lock himself up, that's the part that made me sad. Rudeus' regret for being too late and not apologizing to his brother in the past. Ohh man :(

Then, even though Norn is Rudeus' younger sibling who got the first rank of the best student in Ranoa academy. Still, Norn is just an ordinary girl who still needs more attention from her own family. No matter whether she has talent or not like Rudeus, she is still a weak girl who needs more attention.

This was a good episode👍

This episode really nailed showing personal growth. The duality that was there was a great touch, with Rudeus being mirrored in Norn because of his past social withdrawal. It's not just about making mistakes, but about learning from them and reaching out. Norn's final moment in the episode was really beautiful and hopeful.

Incredible episode. Amazing direction and a wonderful experience overall. I shed tears for both of them. Rudy misses his big brother and what could've been if he listened to his older brother and Norn having a tough time with her feelings for her brother. It was a tough watch which made me quite sad but I was happy to see that they were able to clear off their differences in the end.

Turning Pont 3 next week.

Definitely one of the strongest episodes in this entire series. Rudeus not only was able to empathize with Norn because of his past, he was able to take the perspective of his older brother who had done the same thing for him.

Well, this episode went in a way I definitely wasn't expecting, and is rare in isekai: confronting your past self.
Norn's image of Rudeus in her head is that of a ruthless, violent hooligan, and of course that is her perception of him. The only time when she had seen Rudeus is when he was beating the shit out of Paul, her father which had been keeping her safe. But she doesn't know what led up to that violent confrontation, she walked in right when her older brother was beating her father, and automatically engraved a violent image of Rudeus in her head. Now, after some time, she's gotta go back to living with him, and of course she's hesitant, of course she's scared, she doesn't understand why everyone has naught but praise for her older brother when she literally saw him beating her father. After all, only hooligans resort to violence, right? Norn doesn't get along with anybody except two people: Paul and Ruijierd. She dislikes her sister, Aisha and she hates Rudeus. Everyone at Ranoa Magic University expects Norn to be as good, or even better than her brother in magic, after all they're from the same family, right? Rudeus must have taught her everything he knew about magic to his little sister.
But Norn doesn't meet up to everyone's expectations, because before she had gotten into Ranoa she hadn't cast a single spell in her life! She feels that nobody cares about her, they only care about her brother, the great mage, the honor student, the researcher, the adventurer, the great Rudeus Greyrat. People only talk to her because she's related to her brother. Most people in that situation would crumble, they'd end up shutting themselves in their room, no longer wanting to talk to anyone. Eventually rotting away and being forgotten. Rudeus, who had gone through a similar experience in his past life very much sympathises with his little sister, after all, he knows exactly what that's like. All he does is apologise and the image of Rudeus in Norn's head, that of the violent hooligan, crumbles. She remembers what the two men that she trusts the most said about Rudeus: Paul said that it's been hard for Rudeus as well, and Ruijierd says that Rudeus is a briliant warrior. She starts crying, and Rudeus at this crucial moment does the mature thing: instead of running away, he pulls her closer to him. Rudeus sees his past self in Norn, and that is why he feels obligated do absolutely all he can so she doesn't end up the same way he did. This episode is also a self-reflection for Rudeus, he realises his past actions, reflects upon his past self, understands why he ended up a shut-in. In the isekai genre, this type of self-reflection is extremely rare, the protagonist forgetting who he was in his past life; straight up just not caring about everything that had happened before. Not in Mushoku Tensei, this anime just keeps on surprising me. Next time: Turning Point Part 3 , I absolutely cannot wait for what comes next.

This episode was so slow, but very deep and emotional at the same time. I loved the parallels between what Norn was going through to what Rudeus went through in his past life. I thought the title “My Older Brother’s Feelings” was was referencing Norn’s perspective about Rudeus, but now I see that it also is a reference to Rudeus’s older brother from his past life. The next episode probably won’t be slow since it’s the 3rd turning point. Can’t wait for next week! (9.5/10)

Nice episode, but also very boring one.. kinda waste of screen time for 20 minutes.. could be done faster..
there was one good thing with how he realized the feelings of his brother in previous life.. (damn I wish Isekai would be real thing and have such chance), but the again Rudeus is still stupid.. he doesn't learn, he is still a shut-in, unsecure person.. after all he did in current and previous life.. he should be way stronger.. but he is a loser..
he even embarrassed his sister in class..
with his 2 lifes experience and current power just because he got it by luck, he should be way more reliable..not only to his sister but everyone...

I hate it when anime/manga that I enjoyed ends, especially when there could be much longer plot and when I love main heroine :P

It amazes me how this show go out of its way to have Rudeus as one of the lamest characters in anime history. Rudeus assumes his sister is being bullied, we don't have any proof she is being bullied, but Rudeus assuming that because he was bullied, he stops a class just to have the bully come out and he shames a student and a teacher once again assuming they were bullying his sister, when you think this show has hit rock bottom, it can go even deeper.

@curvedtree sigh..

See folks, this is what happens when you don't use your brain and go out of your way to watch a show you don't even like in the first place. You lose all sorts of nuance because somehow the information the story is trying to tell you needs to be spoonfed to you just so you could understand.
