I remember disliking this arc in the manga years ago, and I still dislike it in the anime, all these ass-pulls powerups and UNO reverse cards are lame as fuck and this arc has LOTS of it to the point it got pretty retarded, I used to like Bleach around 16 (or more) years ago but I don't anymore, the writing is just meh, maybe I'm just getting old for these types of mid writing but I still watch it because I want to finish it.

Forgot how bad Kubo was at writing. Even a decade later, rather than improving the story, he decided to be faithful to his bad plot

I don't think it's because it's a "shounen" anime because I still like shounen animes, I love Attack on Titan and Death Note, they are shounen animes too and they are in my top 5, the reason I am disliking Bleach is that as I grow older, I start seeing the issues with this anime and the script is pretty darn generic and as I stated, I also disliked this arc in the manga, it's pretty damn bad, I thought the anime was going to improve it and it did improve it a bit but it's still bad nonetheless. To me, Bleach started degrading after the rescuing Rukia arc in the beginning, each arc after it was getting worse and worse.

I also love the manga Ragna Crimson, it's shounen too and the anime will be released this year on September 30 so if you haven't heard of it, be sure to check it out, it's good stuff. I only hope the anime is good because the fight scenes in the manga are hype.

Shinji's bankai is nuts. Urahara's solution to the stolen bankai was genius. So the hollows are Quincies natural enemy. He used that to their advantage. Though the stern ritters can now use their special powers without the bankais so things aren't still looking good for them.

some anime are still considered shounen but if you look closely they mix both genres,shounen xseinen=hunter hunter is one of the obvious example even Attack on titans mostly

Decent episode again. The animation was fairly consistent including some fight sequences. Mayuri & Urahara scenes dragged for a bit but we did get some new info that helped obliterate the sternritters, partially. The sike game takes full effect as the quincy's revive with their own hidden power's unlocked. Many convenient tropes in this episode which ticked me off but i can let them ago. I've seen worse ~~

Wow, Shinji's Bankai made it into the anime! They even went through the extra effort to reverse the letters of the subtitle when he was talking to Bambi while using his Shikai. It was also nice to see a pseudo-Hollowfied Toshiro and if you listened well, you can hear his voice being changed a bit, similar to when Hollowfied Ichigo talks. There was also that last scene from the episode where Ichigo caught glimpses of the Soul King's past (maybe). Hyped for the next episode when multiple Stern Ritters use their Quincy: Voll Stern Dich and ofc Komamura (based from the title of the next episode).

This part of the arc is literally the worst part of the entire series imo, even worse than the Fullbringer arc in terms of asspull power ups and bad writing. The sheer amount of plot contrivances in this part of the story astounded me when I first read the manga, and sadly the anime is making things worse by adding new anime exclusive scenes that are just as bad as the manga, if not worse. I'm tired of seeing Ichigo's "training" in post-credit scenes and things like Shinji's lame ass Bankai that was hyped up for months only to appear for less than a minute only make me more concerned about the quality of this cour going forward.

Yes exactly, there were absolutely no stakes that would have him required to use this technique. No chance of him actually losing this "fight".
I mean, I don't have anything against brutally overpowering an opponent but it feels more like a flex on the viewer than a logical conclusion in this situation. Because I heard Shinji never used his bankai in the manga, only in an cannon light novel.

I'm guessing Kubo wanted to add it since we've only seen it in Bleach Brave Souls and it was mentioned in the LN. I have no complaints though, I think it's better left in then left out.

The sternritters powers are shared by Yhwach and the enemies now are completely different from back in the fullbring arc which were low tier pushovers, the stake now is 100 times higher with more powerful enemies.

"getting old for these types of mid writing" from your comment it seem like you don't understand how writing works at your current age and just look at the surface level while not thinking. If you pay attention you would understand how the power system works in Bleach, it has been consistent through the whole show. If it weren't for TYBW then original bleach would have tons of plot holes because there were a lot of forshadowing that hadn't been brought up yet.
