Nah, I'm not saying you're denying the existence of such people. But for some reason you are extremely stuck to Rudy of the start of the series.
At the start of the series Rudy did the following:

C1
- Sexually harass the female characters.
- Fap to a child
- Molested a child in her sleep and attempted to remove her panties.
- Tried to sleep with said child

C2
- Continued to sexually harass Eris in specific
- Continued to invade her privacy and pique on what is a minor.
- Had sex with said child. <--- This one just happened last episode.

I'd say I'm pretty well updated and his growth on this point is 0 maybe even -2 given he went from fapping to children to having sex with them. He's still a disgusting child molester.

And while it's hard to not find him absolutely disguisting and scummy (because he was, there's no denying it), it's also hard to ignore he had slow, but gradual development over the years of his second life. He still have flaws, but he's slowly trying to fix them, and it's interesting to see it.
He's fixing flaws unrelated to the one I'm giving him shit for.

I'll adress only the part, because I agree to starting parts (c1), since the Rudy in beginning was disguisting, and watching loli porn during family funeral was especially shitty of him.
First part, let's not forget about how it was instrumented by Eris' family, and Rudeus was still in the mindset of "im protag, so I can do whatever the fuck I want in some cases" (or at least I see it that way), so yeah, he fucked up A LOT by letting it go to his head.

About C2 part, I could see it as Rudy being just a brat, he tamed a bit, but despite everything he still act like someone who did not fully mature mentaly. He was acting like a brat showing affection in twisted bratty way. If he'd receive good kick in the balls from Eris he highly possibly would stop it.

And last point.
Sorry, but that was pure reminiscent of entire Paul and Lilia situation, they were both in the wrong here. They were both coping with loss of homes, especially Eris, and she forced herself on Rudy here. You completely overlook how he was trying to weasel his way out of this entire situation as hard as he could before he finally succumbed. At this point he's 13 in this world? He's probably going to be more attracted people around his age at this point, or is he supposed to chase 45+ old married women, only because he remembers his past life?

You call it negative development, but it's probably due to the fact you ignored that he was trying to get Eris out of the idea of sleeping with him, as he truly cares for her, which in itself is massive step for him, had that be Rudy from the beginning, he would pounce within a seconds, no questions asked.

Had Rudy initiated his snug time with Eris, that would be called 0 development, meanwhile he tried to resist and make avoid this situation, feeling bad for her, and being afraid of hurting her, calling that negative development shows extreme tunnel vision.

Nah bro im sorry I love show, but what eris did is straight fucked up. It just seems that the only reason the author could have done this is to pad out the series and give sylphie and Roxy a chance. This really put a bad taste in my mouth not gonna lie. Who would leave rudeus all alone? Like he literally has no one, but eris had some selfish I gotta be stronger bs and left. That kinda ruins it for me and its just a damn shame

Even though this episode was pretty chill for a finale, I think it did a good job of showing us where everyone’s at. We got to see a bunch of minor characters and see what they’ve been up to since meeting Rudy and the gang. We also got to see the rest of the Greyrat fam (minus Zenith) finally reunite after all this time.

As for the season as a whole, it was pretty fantastic the whole way through. This is a 10/10 if I’ve ever seen one. Everything at the end got me excited for a potential second season. Looks like we’ll start out trying to save Zenith in the next season. Also, that stinger at the end was interesting. Maybe a possible reunion between Rudy and Sylphie as well? Either way, I’m super pumped for another season and hopefully it gets announced really soon!

A quiet, somber, deep, reflective end to the season. We check up on some characters we've met throughout the journey, but there's nothing big or explosive to end it all off; and that's how I like it. It's simply Rudeus getting back up his feet, and heading on a journey alone to find his remaining lost beloved family member.

What can I say, rather excellent. 8/10

Now we patiently wait for season 2, which hopefully, fingers crossed, Studio Bind gets to us very soon in the next year or so. As for me, going to start from the beginning with the light novels. And maybe you should too, if you haven't done so already and are a fan of this series.

What a great season. Binged the whole 12 episodes today and it went by really fast. Lately anime felt a little bit dragging for me but here every episode felt like 10 minutes max.
The world building feels really top-notch for an isekai, even if this season featured a lot of places and different regions. The same goes for major characters: every characters struggles and growth felt thought through and tangible.
Also i loved what they did with the OP, using background scenes of the current location and sometimes some chill on-the-road scenes instead of a traditional OP. Wouldn't mind if this style spreads a bit more throughout the industry.
9 / 10, really great and hoping next season soon.
I'm not reading any replies or comments directed at me at all. I know my truth and if you disagree: that's fine but i couldn't give a damn about :)

I am not giving Rudy the benefit of the doubt for bratty behavior as he is way beyond the age of where that is appropriate towards the demographic he's aiming it at. Immaturity is no excuse, only an explanation.

And last point.
Sorry, but that was pure reminiscent of entire Paul and Lilia situation, they were both in the wrong here. They were both coping with loss of homes, especially Eris, and she forced herself on Rudy here.
No one forced no one in this situation. Eris simply had to say "Nyan" and Rudy went for it because that phrase was Otaku bait whether she knew it or not.

You completely overlook how he was trying to weasel his way out of this entire situation as hard as he could before he finally succumbed. At this point he's 13 in this world?
I saw that he tried yet he ultimately relented, not to force but to his own boner getting hard once she said "Nyan" to him. Take note of his reaction upon awakening; he is completely satisfied with the result.

He's probably going to be more attracted people around his age at this point, or is he supposed to chase 45+ old married women, only because he remembers his past life
He should wait until he is of appropriate age and then not have sex with the children he grew up with. It's that simple.

You call it negative development, but it's probably due to the fact you ignored that he was trying to get Eris out of the idea of sleeping with him, as he truly cares for her, which in itself is massive step for him, had that be Rudy from the beginning, he would pounce within a seconds, no questions asked.
Rudy caring for Eris is unrelated to his willingness to sleep with children. Rudy was aware she was hurting, he wasn't declining her advances because she was a child but due to his awareness of why she wanted it. The child portion is the entire problem.

Had Rudy initiated his snug time with Eris, that would be called 0 development, meanwhile he tried to resist and make avoid this situation, feeling bad for her, and being afraid of hurting her, calling that negative development shows extreme tunnel vision.
Here's your problem. You mix two different developments.

1. Rudy caring about Eris and so wanting the best for her.
2. Rudy's willingness to sleep with children.

Rudy still sleeps with the child, why or why not is irrelevant because he ultimately decided that his boner was the most important.

Another great episode. Rudy still can't get rid of the shackles of his past life; I can't blame him for it. But man this season has been quite the ride. Whilst there were a couple of episodes I did not like, overall I think it's a bit better than season 1.

We probably won't see eye to eye in this case. Imo the 2 of the developments were pretty intertwined, Rudy was NOT truly willing to sleep with her, if he did, would he try to persuade Eris out of the idea before giving in? I'd say no, he would just jump in without second thought, since one CAN both care about someone and be willing to sleep with that person. Rudy tried his best to avoid it, but ultimately gave in. That's why I call it fault at both sides. He wasn't truly willing, but surrendered. I wouldn't call it as "boner was most important".
But that's something we'll just never agree about, so I'd say it is fair to finish it, we have opposite opinions about his development, and it was nice to have civil discussion about it (which is really fucking rare in current decade).

What I didn't see in the novel nor the manga was the connection they made with Rudeus standing up and walking out of the tent with the steps taken out of the house in the first world which doesn't seem like what the author had in mind, at least if he was the one who wrote everything else, probably wouldn't make this connection because he would know that this is not the true answer to that problem. This ending must've been made by someone else's influence. The depicted problem can only be solved by the truest of truths and special circumstances. Regardless, I'll keep dreaming.

They did a decent job warping things up. I think they wanted to have a "happy ending" The post-credits were a total screw up I think. It gives far too much information, I now know the Manga skips Vol 7, but it is going back to add it, and this information is now what 2~3 Vol's away? and towards the back end of it at that.

I just hope they did it to end on a nice note with hope for rudy, and then they just forget it happened and go down vol 7's path.

Might seem selfish, but she's doing it for him. She wants to be useful and wants to be able to protect him. She couldn't do anything when he got attacked by Orsted. Rudeus just misinterpreted her letter as her dumping him.

Rudy still sleeps with the child, why or why not is irrelevant because he ultimately decided that his boner was the most important.

Why are people so viscerally hung up over this part? The show isn't telling you to agree that Rudeus is correct, nor forces you to agree that what he does is right. You can disagree with him and still enjoy the show for what it is. Eitherway character development like these take time to fully materialize, specially for someone who is mentally and emotionally immature. His growth isn't meant to be a 'feel good' sort of progression. Growth takes years, even decades. For some they may take a step forward, but two steps backward.

I'm sure 99% of viewers who enjoy the show has the moral compass to understand that his perversion is bad, a flaw, yet most who isn't "bothered" by it knows that it's simply a narrative device serving a bigger purposes in the grand scheme of things: development (which, again, takes time). Change IS one of the most central theme to MT after all if you haven't noticed yet.

I think that too many people look to shows, movies, anime for the "perfect world" we have superheroes that always win, that always do the right thing, and even when they are doing the wrong thing it tends to be they are tricked or think they are doing what is just. Rudy is not like that, he is a loser, he is someone that has so much wrong with him, when he does something right it is a coin flip if he did it for the right reasons.

It makes for a compelling watch but at the same time, it's hard to watch at times. I see the parts where he is sitting in his room doing nothing with his life, and hell I can bet a lot of people see themselves in that.

The show is good because it is not afraid to make rudy out to be downright evil at times, a person who is grappling with his past.

Not much that can be said without spoilers. from what the person is saying you can guess who it is, but anything past that would give away too much. But I can try and tip to around a dozen or so swords...

they are talking about Rudy, some future events of his(and past), and where this group of people wants him.

There are a lot of stories too that has main characters that are downright flawed. There's a lot who think Yagami Light is cool, a lot who think Lelouch is a cool, heck I'm sure Griffith has his own fanbase. In terms of storytelling do we give murder or genocide a pass, but not sex or perversion? I absolutely don't get where the hypocrisy is coming from.

This show really never fails to surprise me, in a good way! For a season final this felt underwhelming because we are so used to non stop action, but it made up for it in other ways. Rudeus character arc seems to have come full circle. Seeing all characters again was nice, I wonder whats up with his mom.

A little disappointed we did not get a season 2 announcement at the end. I will probably start reading the LN soon, but I really prefer anime as a medium.

This is how you create drama. This is how you show trauma and emotional damage. This is how you make your character improve over time in a believable way.

While I still think both the original content and the adaptation went too far sometimes, it still made me care about all the characters in the end, protagonist included.

This is how you show and explore mature themes in an isekai, and not by using constant and over the top theatrics making everything in existence the progagonist's fault. Take a hint, Tappei.

In these few episodes, this anime became one of the top tear ones, even tho I've heard a lot about it before it was animated, but this is insane, this anime went above all my expectations, like damn. The whole story is incredibly detailed and interesting, and the way they build up their real and relatable relationships in such a short time is nothing but amazing. Also, the studio that produced this did such a fantastic job, it's like the 2 best things got together and boom, this happened.

This whole last episode was really great to showcase everything, and i am glad they end the season by at least telling us where is who and glad that it was Roxy that managed to find the info, and ofc it had to be the "emperor" lmao, she's a walking meme xD
But i do wonder what happened with Rudeus's mom, it worries me that they didn't shown her, and it makes me believe that unfortunately she got involved with something big and evil? Boy, can't wait for the next season! Oh, we also managed to see Sylphiette, and i wonder what she's doing and where is she? But glad to know she's ok.

The ending was so well executed, the way you see he remembers his mom, the whole scene is so fantastic!

Also, Eris with short hair looks so bad, and again, she didn't have to leave like that but i guess it's good for Rudeus to surpass his trauma, and now we will have to wait like 10million years for another season, should i go for the manga? Also how far is the manga from the anime vs the LN? If anyone knows, God bless u guys.

I'm still not sure about what rating to give to thins but i will judge as a single season, but i do guess it's at least a 9.5/10.

Good final episode, Eris has left and cut her hair (imo she looked better with long hair lol), Ruijerd is out helping people, and Rudeus woke up and took a step as the title said. I think this was a very good way to end this series that’s spanned since Winter this year, so much has happened in this show and from the looks of it, it was only the beginning, but I really loved it, a truly unique Isekai and one of my favorites that I’ve seen, I’m really excited to see where it goes from here whenever a Season 2 does come up.

Bro... can't believe its over. Season 1 part 2 of Mushoku Tensei, a show that I did not think I would enjoy nearly as much as I did. I liked that this episode had some introspection into Rudeus' past life, and the last episode of the season showed all the main characters of the story and how they are faring, which wraps it up nicely while we wait for Season 2. Still a slight cliffhanger at the end where they tease an elf (potentially Sylphie?) and the exact condition of Zenith still unknown, but it gives us something to look forward to for season 2. It first sucked to see that Rudy had regressed to his old self after Eris left, but then glad after seeing he managed to get up to find Zenith.

It was also nice seeing all the characters he met so far one last time, especially Sylphie. I also loved Paul's reunion with Lilia and Aisha.

I wonder what Kirishika's purpose is in the story other than just giving them massive hints.

Other than that fantastic ending. Really hoped for an announcement for S2, but I guess we'll have to wait.

She think Rudy can do nearly everything, she dont know how bad he can be is she leave her. remember he still have a father after all, not like she who lose everything.

The manga would give you about 10 more episodes of anime content, the anime being at the end of vol 6 of the LN and the manga mid vol 10(skipping vol 7). So, yeah, if you only want to read the manga to know whats next don't see much of a point. The LN is at vol 25 in Japan and has been translated untill vol 14, but you can easily transition from LN 14 to WN 16 and finish the story with the only donwnside being a little worse translation.

season was much better than the first cour still got a lot of problems with it that hold it back personally from getting high praise and i still don't give a flying ass about Rudy so none of these big moments for him are landing (don't see that changing) but everything else when it isn't focused on him was great i think this wrapped up better than some shows i can think of that i really liked with giving you a clear view on how everyone is doing and what to look forward to

but frankly thinking back on some of the characters... i hardly remembered anything that happened all this season it feels like ages ago

and while it really wasn't hiding it's imagery i think it was well done the studio has showed really how much work they put into this and it shows so i gotta respect that

7/10 which is quite high for a Isekai

Honestly I didn't like the pacing of most of this season along with some of the changes made and content skipped. However this was a ending that far surpassed anything I was expecting. It made me wish I could give a 9.5 / 10.

Not sure exactly when, but this season started to drag.. but overall a clean wrap up until next season. Eris has grown to be a respectable woman at her young age. We see that Rudy can snap out of his shit..slowly but finally. Also Slyphie has also grown to be lovely based on her gentleness Alice is that you? Best girl? Sorry I mean best girl. No sorry, I mean best girl
