So I guess with this episode, Khun is now officially part of the main characters. I'm kinda interested of his full tragic background (as I'm a heavy tragedy fan). I need some spoilers, anyone......
Read the Web toon before pressing the spoiler button. This is major spoilers. I am a webtoon reader of this series since season 1 to 3 of the webtoon. Read at your on risk of spoilers.

The animation is a bit....unpolished. The lizard girl with the whip scene was so sluggish in how it moved and the impacts it had. The characters were flying around so awkwardly it just missed any character or artistic flair in showing the grandiose power of that lizard girl.

I dare anyone to say this is not the most confusing show of all time, there are so many shit going on you're always asking yourself "who are these people, why are there monsters, how can they could have not seen the sky, what's the difference between regular and irregular, how the structure of this place has been made to both let pass a 4 meter aligator and a normally sized human" but I cannot deny the fact that I love mystery, and thus, I love this nonsense, at least it's keeping me watching the show with hype and attention.

All Might Gator is definitely the best character, the "instinct" moment is perfection, too bad he's too much used as a comic relief and not much as an colossal figure.

This foreshadowing is garbage, any brainlet can tell who's under this hood, c'mon I was expecting better from a show with such beautiful chara-design.

Oh, and I forgot to talk about the worst. They changed Khun betraying his sister to make Maria a princess into Maria betraying Khun. That's why Lero-Ro told Baam to not trust him.
at 9.50 minutes they say aguero sister was supposed to be chosen as a princess of jahad, because aguero helped her,Maria was chosen. So aguero betrayed his sister for maria, khun talks about this with rak at chapter 53.
Ok, I'm wrong on this. But I reread the passage you said, and nothing was ever said about Maria betraying A.A. after that. He sure say he felt something was missing, but nothing about betrayal. Heck she went climbing the tower being a Zahard Princess, of course they didn't see themselves again. On the contrary, he is ok with that, that's why he doesn't understand why he felt like something was missing. He acted rationally. In the anime it's all about an emotional reaction. So I might be wrong on the details, but when it comes to change A.A. into something he is not supposed to be, it doesn't change anything.

basically season one explains almost nothing lmao ll admit that. The case about the sky and stuff is explained this season tho i think. but there is one specific arc that reveals alot of the secrets. Rak becomes strong too, and not just comic relief :)

mmm not sure why i was expecting something crazier from looking at reddit earlier today silly me was more or less another decent episode ,though seeing rachel because they didn't even try to hide the fact was her so soon was a bit surprising that and shes teamed up with a ton of murderers .

random note if seeing stars is a tale of legends wouldn't that mean everyone came from a world without a sky lol? but i don't even know if there are other words i'm just guess that since there are so many random ass characters that don't even look human

Enjoyed seeing more of Anak, and I liked test 3 since it was a mind game. Outside of Bam, I'm not liking the members of his team, but hoping that seeing more back story will make me come around on Khun.

Wondering how Rachel is going to screw over Bam next week...

The first 13 minutes of this episode were fantastic- absolutely living up the, "Mystery" tag.

Three episodes in and we're starting to see that potential the show has only flashed up until this point. Perfect timing to start getting into stride just as those who live by, "The 3 Episode Rule," have decisions to make.

I'm actually really enjoying the anime adaptation hehe. The art style they used is so pretty ;_;
It is fast paced but I don't think of it as bad tbh. It allows you to get interested in the plot and the main trio. I actually dropped the webtoon around 4 times when reading the first season because I didn't like the art style(gotta say it got a lot better) and the amount of characters they introduced to you at the start of the story because it was overwhelming. Later on I actually liked that about the webtoon cause even though you get a ton of characters they all get proper development and u can't help but like them (at least most of them haha)
The anime is doing a nice job in making u interested in some of the side characters and animating what makes them amazing uwu.

Did you watch the 3 episodes? In the tower, the sky is made out of shinsu. All the regulars are born and raised in the tower. So basically they didn't come from outside(only irregulars are outsiders). Don't reply, I won't answer again.

It's already showing weaknesses by not having a solid foundation to begin with. We'll see I guess. I think it's just okay so far.
yea it's a slow burn type of series. people don't suddenly hype it to the moon after reading only 15 chapters lol. it's ok if it's not for you, but it's premature to dismiss and assume the entire plot after seeing 3% of the story, that's just what I'm saying. I heard a lot of classics like Evangelion and Steins Gate doesn't pick up until mid story too.

Yep, Evangelion is not that interesting until about ep 12 as for Steins Gate, you have to sit through 12 episodes of insufferable an annoying characters. I stayed until ep 13 because people said it was amazing after that, but honestly the twist wasn't that shocking or impactful, mainly because at that point I really didn't care about "That" certain character. I gave it another chance but I ended up dropping it. So I don't get why people complain that "nothing" happens in TOG when it is only episode 3....

AdolZeppeli said:
This is nowhere as near as the masterpiece the source fans claim this to be.

You have only seen about 3% of the story at this point, fans are not hyping it or calling it a masterpiece because of only 3% -_-

Rushed .. there was no tension in the door game, it ended way too fast, compared to the webtoon. they should have given a whole episode to it, built up some stress and tension.. and then revealing the answer.. too bad they had to do it this way.. this anime adaptation is a marathon version of webtoon.. too rushed ..
Still, better than the rest of the shitty anime out there... Worth your time and the animation is really Good

god damn looking at all the tog forum pages all i've been seeing are anime onlies complaining about nothing happening for 3 episodes, then the same people eat that shit up when some generic isekai powerfantasy dude beats the demon king in one episode instantly and gets a harem,
then the people complain about tog being bad cuz nothing was explained etc.
i feel like everyone has been so used to this isekai stuff that when something more detailed or slow paced comes out they suddenly explode in bordum,

i will bet if spirited away cameout in 2020 it would be considered trash by the average anime viewer,
just thinkabout it.
spirited away has a protagonist who is like an empty slate, unexplained magical world protagonist's parents turned to pigs, unorthodox artstyle with unexampled fantastical elements and world building.
i'll bet spirited away would be considered trash by the isekai junkies.

THEN AGAIN this has a lot of 5 star ratings for episodes so i guess its just a vocal minority

bruh there were literally loads of people complaining how slow and boring the door game was,
if it had a whole episode dedicated to it then half of the anime onlys would be droping likely

Wonder if Rak will eventually die at some point. That lizard couldn't be more annoying and the way how he's being forced into the comic relief/gag character archetype isn't helping at all either.

Overall, another mediocre episode. The doors trial was very unsatisfying in terms of tension and the message it delivered couldn't have been more lame. Prioritize recklessness over proper analysis and planning? Seriously?... I mean, it's perfect for shounen protagonists but utterly stupid in terms of narrative.

They also tried to give Khun's character more depth but it felt quite superficial in the end. Honestly hope they expand his backstory a bit more later on since just establishing he doesn't trust anyone because he was betrayed in the past and that's it, would be... well... quite superficial.

So the 3 episode was the best so far. If i wanted to rate it would be 6.5/0, yeah i know that's not a great grade but im a little harsh, especially with tog wich i love.
The pace becomes better, only 4 chaps adapted, the things they cut are unimportant.
2 things i didn't like was the effort to make Rak over comic relief and the feeling is too goofy. I want sth darker, the tower is not a fun place.

Some scenes like Anaak wipe out everyone was better in the manhwa but we don't have to complain about everything.

Season 1 until chapter 60(?) is introduction to this vast world. In the anime you should see the more serious stuff about episode 10.

As a webtoon reader, this episode was pretty great! I have a few nitpicks here and there, where some scenes could have totally done better. But overall, even someone like me who has read the webtoon a few times over, is hyped af!

I especially love seeing them animated! Also, some of the best girls, [redacted] and [redacted], have appeared. Rachel (or someone that looks like her?) is also here. Y'all are totally in for a treat!

Koon characterization in the anime was different than webtoon. He helped maria because he thought that she was a better candidate than his sister. He did it consciously. There is not any word regarding maria betrayal in the webtoon. They completely changed it so that Koon's background resembles that of Bam; hence, he could feel more sympathy for him. Moreover, the scene where Koon attacked that guy with his knife wasn't in the webtoon. This only describes Koon as a relatively short-tempered character, which is not the case. Overall, it was a really good episode.

A lot of interesting developments this episode,

- Hansung Yu is likely also a ranker or someone important within the Tower
- Khun helped his sister Maria become a princess, but was abandoned/betrayed after she was chosen. His aid also caused his family to be exiled. He now is distrustful of everyone, something his mother taught him.
- Khun is carrying something very important in his bag, this is hinted twice. Once in Ep.2 when he has trouble crossing the Shinsu because of his bag, and again this episode when Hansung remarks "You seem to be carrying quite the heavy bag"
- Rules are very important within the Tower, they are mentioned throughout Ep. 2 (ie. how irregulars are those who don't follow the rules, Khun saying 'She's your rule' to Bam when Bam tells him he belongs to Rachel, Khun telling him not to be controlled by rules)

As for the episode,
Didn't expect Rachel to show up so early on, it's likely going to be Rachel vs Bam in the next episode!
Looking forward to that!

It was a great episode once again. We saw some backstory of Khun, the crowngame with some exposure of Anaak her powers and some foreshadowing for a lot of fighting and emotions in the next week! Oh boy can't wait!

I am not a Webtoon reader but agree a bit on this one. This show would be way better if it had 25 episodes with a slow pacing to set up the world.

I don't even mind long running, there is a lot of source material to adapt.

Things are finally getting interesting ! This episode was very good. I liked how we didn't just get a test and some informations about the Tower, but actual informations about the characters. Well, mostly about Khun, but it was very good. I thought he was nothing but a confident man, but it's actually more complicated than that, I like it.
Also, I didn't expect to see Rachel so quickly, I wonder what will happen now... But at the same time it could very well not be her but someone that looks like her. I'm definitely intrigued.

Yeah, cause they aren't sure about a second season.
They have cut informations from the world building and it's looking messed up.
Made in Abyss is average for the biggest part of it but the ending made it an impressive good series.
