Better episode. Still feeling the lack of any understanding of the world Bam came from (I should not be asking if Bam came from the outer tower during the sequence where the ranker was explaining the tower) but the dynamic between the characters was more interesting and I felt like I was better able to understand character actions than in the previous episode which is huge. Probably going to finish this if for the mystery element at least.

Dude you gotta chill. Just because he said luck, doesnt mean the mc will barley pass every test, if you were paying attention then you would have seen the ranker also said bam is a monster. that means that is was his strength not luck that made him pass. the fact he was able to resist the shinsoo means he is most likely the strongest there. also Rak isnt the most op there, we havent seen anyones abilities yet. its only the second epeisode, but it was far better than the first. the scenery is blans=d for sure, but thats becuase they are following the webtoon,

they are still gonna rely on luck to climb most of the tower, making the story super predictable. Also bam is annoying with his "i wanna see rachel" as if he hasn't said that a million times already. this just doesn't Live up to the hype.
I cant take you serious. You're making way to many assumptions for not reading the source material

Seems that way. Some people clearly hate it simply because of the hype whilst others cant seperate between the source material and adaptation (e.g in the anime they changed the order to events for Bam getting Black March to basically Yuri just finding him cute).
Give it a few more weeks then rate the anime, not the webtoon.

Ep 2 is just okay. Still not a lot going on beside passing tests and climb up tower. Not many explanation of the different races and how they end up in the tower make me thinking it's an isekai/vr game (magic/sword is normal in a fantasy setting but gun?). I won't bite the idea of everyone is born in a tower. Again, this is an anime perspective. Still kinda confused.

I still feel like this is a survival game setting and make me want to compare it series like to Gantz, Darwin game, Btooom, Alice in Borderland, Doreiku, and Ousama-game. The only thing different is that this one doesn't have the weight of life and fantasy setting that allow magic/special ability.

basically, baam was alone for many years in a dark unknown place. rachel was the first person he met and she taught hm everything. she is baams everything basically. but dw his goals change later on

This was better than the first episode, and I'm beginning to like the characters we have been introduced to so far. This series has hundreds of chapters (or whatever they're called), so why only make this a 12-13 episode anime? I'm beginning to get HxH vibes, but there is no way it will be able to reach that level of quality if it is rushed.

the first season is 78 chapters, its not much really since tog had alot less reading alot of panels where there is just pictures and stuff. idk i feel like the pacing is pretty good

decent so far still going along at lighting speed of a pace.

did let out a huge groan when the first thing he asked was from someone so special was "have you seen this girl?" like my dude i get shes important but don't you wanna get a better understanding on what the hell is going on, at least he was allowed a follow up question or i would've lost it lol.

Really enjoyed this episode.

Was expecting more or less this episode to end the second floor test as well as the shinsu wall test.

I'm expecting next week to be the door test then the position designation.

I really don't understand the hate for this series. It's been good so far.

People just really overhype themselves.

Note:
I really wish they used an androgynous VA for the tea person. It took me a long time to find out if he/she was a boy or girl.

I really loved this episode, it showed how goofy the show can be sometimes, ALSO RAK IS THE BEST BEEFY BOI, DON'T EVEN @ ME.

The only real OPINION I have with this anime is the art style, its kinda different so I ain't used to it yet, but I can prolly get pasted that. :)

Damn the plot is finally unraveling I'm excited!

This is what I've gathered,
- All people are born and raised within the tower except for a few
- MC and Rachel are Irregulars from outside the tower, which is essentially a different world
- From what Lero-ro said before he was cut off, Irregulars that appear in the tower are all freakishly strong. This is reinforced by his surprise when he sees Bam not get pushed by back the Shinsu, and remarking "A monster has arrived..."

Can't wait to see MC at full force!

Currently 7/10 as an anime series. Was 8/10 before for me but now that my hype kinda died down it's coming clear that anime is gonna struggle in showing the world of Tower that I love so much, especially that we are only at the very beginning of the long journey which honestly starts of pretty mediocore if not for Rak, Khun and the promise of something more behind the facade.

And ffs, this episode reminded me why I didn't like Bam at the very beginning of the story. The WIMP. The SIMP. The broken puppy that lost his mama and then got thrown into the big o'l world.

I didn't think that the first episode was very good, but this one pleasantly surprised me. The character interactions are fun, the challenges are simple but interesting, and I'm excited to more about the nature of this world.

The series definitely feels similar to the hunter exam arc of Hunter x Hunter, but with a much faster pace. While I prefer the slower pace of HxH, this definitely looks like it's gonna be a really good watch.

Very glad I didn't drop this after episode 1.

Okay, waaay better than the first one hopefully it will only get better and better with every episode. I live the chibi scenes they are soo cute! But at the same time they were very... random? Idk it didn't feel organic of that makes sense xD

People forget that Bamm was this dense at the start ( he still is sometimes) but his character got better and more likeable as the story progressed.
With only 13 episodes I wonder when it will end... hopefully we get to hate Rachel for a few episodes lol

Being straight up hunterxhunter, I wonder when will this became it's own thing. The character interaction are pretty standard, there's nothing special.

I'm still really wondering what's the structure of their world, does the tower standing on a ground and there exist towns outside, or their world is the tower itself, then can we really call that a tower if that's the case. It's now episode 2 and it's not clear yet.

This second episode was definitely more interesting than the first one, and set more up as far as building the world that they're in. First episode left so much in the dark, that there wasn't much mystery to be interested in because I barely knew what I was watching. This episode introduced some things about the tower which I definitely want to learn more about.

Only annoying part of the episode was when Rak was just fighting to fight, even though he wouldn't have passed the test without teaming up. Like how is he that stupid? But somehow he's strong enough to just walk straight through the test? Dumb.

Crunchyroll confirmed it to be 13 episodes for this season, so approximately 6 chapters per episode would be adapted.

Yup, 16-20 episodes would be optimal. Sadly it's already confirmed to be 13 episodes, and yes it will adapt the entire first season. They are gonna be forced to cut out a lot.

Well, passing tests to climb the tower is sort of the premise of this season, so that's what you'll be seeing. The word "tower" really gives us a false image of this tower of God. I haven't read that far ahead, but I don't even think the tower of God is a building (but I don't know how it looks like from the outside myself). It is literally a world. The word "tower" is used as a concept for a world that simply has multiple floors stacked on top of each other. This is how I imagine it, at least.

No, the survival game in episode 1/2 was the only sort of survival game. This is more like Hunter Exam or Chuunin Exam. And yes, it is a fantasy setting which allows for special ability, and it has been explained this episode - shinsu. The ranker in this episode explain a bit of it and demonstrated it as well. Shinsu is how people fight. You'll be getting more and more information regarding its mechanics as the series goes on, though.

By the way, isekai is not another word for fantasy. Isekai refers to the concept of transporting someone from our world into a fantasy world. Tower of God is a fantasy world. Its world has its own history and it doesn't have anything to do with our world.

Really looking forward to the next episode! Towards the end of episode 3 is where the series becomes interesting. Episode 4 should be the first highlight episode.

I personally got more questions than answers.
"Who is this adidas kid and when do they kill him off?"
"Wow is Yuri actually a good character? When do we see more of her?"
"Why would you rely on luck to climb the tower that's stupid?"
"How the hell is MC kid not dead yet?"

and many more. only question i got the answer to was "what are irregulars?".

thats because the anime completly cut out the part where leroro was monologueing and explaining the philosphy about the limits of one sself,
the only reason why he said it was all luck was to not disapoint the regulars for failing, because there are some people who are born genetically better than others and no matter how much they train they will never be as good as the genetic freaks like irregulars(in which he also talks about how they are monsters and each weild some special power that breaks the law of the tower but that was also cut out)

also they also cut out the super important part where yuri mentioned urek mazino which is another "irregular" of the tower that yuri is aquanted with in the first episode and the only reason why yuri lent baam the black march is BECAUSE HE IS AN IRREGULAR
NOT because he has a CUTE face. she wanted to see his specal ability like urek, but the anime cut that part out

Interesting. As someone who hasn't read the WebToon, I had initially assumed that Bam's desire to see Rachel again was based in romance. Clearly I was wrong, and I'm glad for it. I hope it makes him a more interesting protagonist.

Also, it's crazy to me that so many people could dismiss this for being, "poorly animated," when its clearly being presented in a non-standard anime style.

I understand, however, that this style may not be to everyone's taste. I really appreciate the unique artistic flair this show has brought thus far amidst a sea of unremarkable anime.

No, im not talking about that part, before it happer the black ball thing showed that 268 people where alive when Rak found them, and in a very small fraction of time 68 died and the count went from 268 to 200 and the next part of the test, that was to find 2 partners, started.

"I can go back if you want."

Man, Bam is such a simpleton it isn't even funny. How will such a naive kid manage to get to the top of the tower? Without recurring to the "MC has a mysterious hidden power" trope, please. Particularly, I really hope that what they said about luck being a factor was just metaphorical.

Also, I honestly wasn't expecting comedy but I can now say it will be of the weakest points in this series. Totally awkward and kinda unnecessary.

Overall, quite mediocre episode but at least, we got some more info about the world and about what Irregulars are.

P.S.: By the way, Bam mentioned both him and Rachel came from another world and considering how "casual" some of the participants are dressed... maybe I missed something in Ep. 1 but is "Tower of God" some kind of isekai?

It's not a spoiler, but many people didn't notice it...or perhaps forgot the small things that happened in the 1st episode.. that steel eel was swimming in shinsu... and bam went there like nothing happened...
And in this episode they mention a *monster has arrived* .

Rak and Khun are two of my favorites so far. Rak is pretty cute, getting addicted to chocolate bars.

I haven't read the webtoon so I don`t know what to expect but all I know this is quite popular. Not gonna lie, the first episode was kind of boring. It only redeemed itself with the last few minutes when the game started.
