Another good first episode for this season. Jeez. I swear this season has a lot of anime with great first episode, I hope it continues.

This show had me convince to continue watching it. I laughed throughout.

Yakuza with a cute and powerful little kid? Sign me the fuck up. Haha. Nitta and Hina relationship is so cute and that last scene. Hahaha.

I swear that last scene was an Attack on Titan reference. Hahaha.

5/5. <3

P.S. So, everything that happened with Nitta and Hina is Hina's past? Like three years ago? Jeez. I wonder what happened to Nitta 3 years later. I'm scared.

There's a 3-year time skip on the manga. So a lot really happened. In the anime, the first minute which you can see Mao fighting group of monks/martial artist is the current time frame from the manga (Well, not that current time frame since
). The time skip happened on chapter 47 in manga.

Oh, thanks for the info. So, do you think the anime adapted it decently? Because if the time skip happened on chapter 47, then why the anime already showed it on the 1st episode?

That was a surprise. Quite an amusing episode.

Might turn out to be one of the more interesting anime of this season.

Despite Hina's lack of personality, she has quite the personality.

Yeah, this one is going to be pretty good. Hina and Nitta have a nice dynamic. I wonder if they will go in depth with Hina's past and where she came from. Seems like it was traumatic seeing as she's very stoic. Nitta is a funny guy, and off the bat I liked him. Him leaving Hina, and ignoring her when she first appeared was very funny to me. I love how Hina got her revenge by doing the same at the end of the episode.

i think it's because the director want to make "waifus" as selling point of the anime instead of the comedy
there's some girls on this series but so far none of them can even be called "waifu" material

They will rush things out in anime but I'm not really sure since as I said, there's a lot happened even before that time skip. The best girl is not yet in the scene. It's only episode 1 so I can't really say. I wonder how can they manage to cover up to the time skip without messing the sequence or rushing because episode 1 was a mess. They mixed things that actually happened.

Was not expecting to like this as much as I did. It’s refreshing to see a show like this with a more seinen feel so the loli isn’t annoying.

Not bad. Comedy factor is good and there is also potential for feelz later on. I kinda enjoy watching this cohabitation of yakuza member with superpowered girl.

I just hope she won't stay this way, that she learns manners in time and that she shows at least bit of emotions eventually.

If the comedy stays at this level it will be a pretty decent show. The terminator reference at the end was gold (literally XD).

How old is this? Seeing Wii Fit up here makes me feel like this is an old story but I doubt its that old. Well anyway, that was quite something. Hina is a strange girl, but it's fun to watch her and that dude together despite how much trouble she can be. And shes kind of mysterious, so I'm curious as to what her story is and what her world itself is like.

I can get why the readers of the Manga might feel disappointed how events follow up on each other, but as someone who has no exposure to the Manga as of yet, I gotta say, this is a stellar opening to the series.

And the thing that gripped me right off the bat is the quality of animation, it's so fluid and expressive, doesn't seem like they spared much expense, not a lot of that 3 frame static pose lip syncing happening.
Voice acting is great and the humour so far is pretty fantastic. I'm looking forward to how this continues.

Think the manga is from 2010 or maybe begining of 2011? Don't remember if the Wii was a thing at this point. That was a funny bit at least. Wasn't expect the Wii of all thing to be on here. It's usualy handheld consoles such as the non-PSP or the non-DS, sometime I've seen non-super famicom.

We've done it guys. We've found the female version of Mob.

This is looking like one of the best original anime of the season (although sadly that's not saying much). I look forward to seeing how this esper and yakuza bond over 12 episodes!

Aaaahhhh okay, Wii Fit came out in 2007 I think, I've seen consoles referenced often in anime, but this is the first time I've ever seen Wii Fit, and seeing it so far from it's life-time felt weird. Nice, but weird.

Eh, I dunno what all the fuss is about? I found it exceedingly boring. Totally emotionless girl and a so-called Yakuza who's basically her slave? Totally dull MC's with zero chemistry (I don't necessarily mean the romantic kind; it can be any kind, but in this case there was no chemistry at all) and all the "comedy" seems to come from harassing or physically hurting people. Perhaps I'll give the manga a shot sometime when it's completely scanlated, but I'm dropping the anime now.

Yes! My favorite manga finally got adapted! Damn, can't wait for the REAL Hinamatsuri chapters like Anzu's and Hitomi's. Hina is just a side character, who cares about her anyway :3

Amazing animation too by Feel. Really love the fighting scene with Mao in the beginning, though it's kinda weird to start with a time skip first from like chapter 47 of the manga then go back all the way to 1 again. I wonder if that means they're going to adapt 1-46 chapters which is a lot.... and definitely means cutting out some contents to get there with only 12 eps.

Started almost by chance, I said to myself: "Oh my God, what was I going to lose?" The narrative has been somewhat exaggerated in various contexts, but I do not mind. The final scene is worth the whole episode. I have to trust more than the favorite animation studios, they almost never let me down. Excellent graphic quality, the characters are already nice to me.

Some moments really remind me of Mob Psycho 100. Maybe it's a little reference or something, since both MP100 and Hinamatsuri are really good mangas about espers?
Anyway, I feel like it's going to be a full adaptation with skipping a lot of "less important" chapters, judging by the first scene.
Actually, 1st episode was so good that it's made me read manga.

WATASHI NO SMARTPHONE GA!!!!!!

Hina is so cute. At first, I thought she was kind of bland and annoying but I grew to love her in just one episode. I haven't finished the manga but I'll read it afterwards.

I like Hina's dynamic with Nitta like a father-daughter relationship. Nitta's voice actor is doing an awesome job with his straight man quips.

Nope. I can't find any enjoyment or humor out of seeing a main character get tortured by and forced to take care of a child without even any hint of an explanation of who she is or where she came from or anything. She just shows up out of nowhere and threatens to kill him if he doesn't take care of her. What? Just no.
