FT started strong, stalled a bit and then went into a downwards spiral until it reached rock bottom. It's sad that the author wasted the potential of his manga this much. The fear of actually making the characters take risks and introducing stetegy in the fights was his start or his undoing. On the bring side, FT helped make manga more mainstream in pop culture and is somewhat fun for kids. It was a pleasure to go through this ride with you o7 |

The ships pretty much ended up where I expected, with a lot of them being more ambiguous. Didn't think Natsu would suddenly gain the maturity to confess to Lucy in one chapter, so I guess it's better that way. It's always kinda sad when a series ends, especially as Fairy Tail was one of my first "long-running" anime when I was getting into it. But of course, these last few disappointing arcs were only somewhat made up by this lighthearted final chapter. This series is best when it's not taking itself seriously. |

One of my first anime/manga is now over, and I loved it. While I might be oblivious to the mistakes, this manga was perfect in my eyes and will be a big memory of my younger teen years in the future. |

Started to watch the anime in the summer of two years ago. I watched two season of the anime in 3 weeks and then I started the manga while following hte rest of the anime weekly. I really like this serie because there is comedy, action ad romance. The final arc was quite disappointing, even though at the beginnig it was very exciting, but I don't care much. For me it is and enjoyable manga end I'll miss it. I think that the idea in the end was fine, it would have been better if it was deeplier developed. |

Ugh... Please don't tell me I'm the only one who get emotional here....? X') I mean, this manga (actually the anime) is the one who bring me to otaku world... Now that this is ended, I don't know what to do with my life... I feel empty... T_T Gruvia was really cute~ way cuter than my OTP NaLu in this chapter... But, what can we expect from someone like Natsu... Actually I didn't expect that the reincarnation of Zeref and Mavis will be there, so I'm kind of surprise... And I'm curious about JerZa... Yeah... It's a really fun ride.. Though it's a bit ruined at the latest arc, my rating still 10/10. I will really miss this... T_T |

I used to be a bleach fan and then kubo destroyed the manga with that ending That was really disappointing. And now, Mashima did the same thing as well. I admit the final was better than bleach in many ways but.... There was no ships..... It was supposed to be aftermath. Well overall i give 6 for the sake of the old days. |

Disappointed and Frustrated, There is so much potential for this manga! So many unique characters! How I wish Mashima could have further developed them, How I wish he had Deepen the Relationship and Frienship of each one of them, There are lots of different magic abbilities! How i wish He could have fleshed it out more! and creatively used them for a more strategical and interesting fights sighhh but Mashima thrown all that away! and gave us fanservice and terrible battle sequences (nakama power)? instead sigh... After the Avatar arc it all went downhill to me especially the final arc. Yeah but it has been a long journey, Even if I was disappointed, I won't deny that at the very beginning I really did enjoyed watching Fairytail to the point that I have my own ships and fangirl to it till no end... speaking of ships, Well I don't know if Mashima played it safe or He's just a coward. XD. -Considering Gajevy not having enough screentime together, I'm really happy they are canonized! with a baby coming??? XD -but Gruvia (and the others) deserved more! but well to be fair atleast Gruvia have enough cute moments, compared to Nalu and Jerza. XD -Felt bad for Nalu, the romance was left ambiguous until the end XD but Natsu did promise her They're going to be together forever sooo... -Oh damn I didn't know Laxus has his own Harem... haha! that was it...quite relieve it ended but i'd still be looking forward to the anime |

The last arc has been terrible, the ultimate level of bullshit, not a single fight lived up to the expectations and such twist will give you brain cancer for sure. I think the author lost interest in his work in the end. |

It was meh. It's Ok, I guess. The way it ended wasn't either good or bad, it was kinda bland. I was hopping for shippings, but I guess Mashima can't even pull that off properly. Hoped for Natsu x Lucy or Natsu x Lisana, but, oh well. |

Fairy Tail was pretty much one of the series that got me really into anime and manga (believe it was in 2011). Feels a bit crazy that this over. No doubt though, I'm glad this is done. I can't remember when it started, but it just felt obligatory that I had to read each chapter to see it through until the end. This last arc in particular turned full comedy to see how much worse it could get with each passing chapter. Anyway, I'm still glad for the memories of how much I enjoyed the start. The art has generally been great throughout too, which is pretty impressive. I always love seeing the improvement from the beginning of the manga to the conclusion, so really enjoyed seeing the early manga panels. Like I said though, glad this is finally over; this just needed to end. |

CG-Silver said: So .... that's it I guess? Fairy Tail started out pretty fresh and quickly picked my interest for quite some time. But unfortunately the more it went on, the more it's writing deteriorated. It would've been just fine to get adventures with the original 4 (Natsu, Lucy, Erza, Gray). The last arc was especially disappointing, giving the series a new low. It was not only bad writing, but also pretty boring, relying on any chance to add fan service where possible. Overall, as someone who used to be fan in the early days, I have to say this series turned out pretty badly. Have to give credit to Mashima for ending it. Overall, a 3-4/10 would suffice. I completely agree. And the final arc and ending was extremely rushed and disappointing. Easily a 3 - 4/10 series. |

This was one of those stories that start with a great potential but drops in quality over time to the extent that at some point, you're just glad that it ended. I mean, I knew that FT had established the status quo of "Power of Nakama" beats shit out of everything without any other explanations but you can't blame a man for having some expectations for the final fight right? Yet what we get is just a rushed ending... Seems like the man should totally be blamed for having expectations... Well, I do find it better than Bleach's though, so there's that. For the sake of the old days, I'd rank this manga an overall 4-5/10. Easily 1/10 without nostalgia factor from the anime (Loved the BGMs)~~ |

I actually felt some relief when I saw that more people disliked the ending but now the number of people who liked it in the lead by a pretty far amount. It's sad that nobody cares about good writing anymore. The ending felt like the entire series didn't happen. That's one of the worst sins a writer can make by invalidating the purpose of writing in the first place. |

Mashima should really team up with someone else for the story. Fairy Tail had a lot of potential, and had a few moments that were really hype, but was ultimately ruined by deus ex machina and the authors unwillingness to take risks/kill off characters (I can't believe Makarow is still alive, how many dies has he "died"?). |

To be honest i can't say i loved it.. its was good. but... lacked so much.. (personal opinion)after being with this serie for 5-6 years now (i believe :/) i cant reach up to more than a 8,2 (ish) it has it fantastic moments, i gotta admit that.. でも。。i don´t know what to say really, all of this mostly the recent act, it's been a unusual surprise really.. which i can´t find any words for. and natsu could at the very least have said something better then something cheesy as(we will be together forever.) thats most of my comment i guess thanks for my time. |

In the case of Naruhina by a huge Margin so far in fact that Kishimoto reduced Hinata´s screentime to appropriate Sakura´s position as a main character Fairy Tail is the only one that cucked it´s main pairing shippers, but it wasn´t out of the question as I clarified in my "Canon pairings thread". On the other hand. Cobra got to date his GF, Erza and Jellal probably the fanfavorite got their relationship confirmed albeit flimsy. Levi and Gajeel got their happy end (pun intended), Gray and Juvia got their PG relationship. Athough this Manga confirmed sexual relationships on many occasions, is filled the brim with fanservice and even introduced orgasm magic in which tentacles cares you to climax. Some of Hiro Mashima´s decisions are so outlandish insultingly stupid that I genuinely can´t make head or tails out of it. Some can clearly be traced as lazyness. Other times, the best anyone can do is guess. Personally, I think he ocassionally writes terrible outcomes, for the sole sake of going against convention, despite making zero sense in context. It fits his rebel nature, his past with his father and his school career. Unlike Kishimoto and presumingly Oda he never finished college. I totally forgot about the 100-year Quest since Tenrou Island. Gajeel totally made Levy pregnant. Mashima trolled us with those Laxus ships. I'm totally convinced that Laxus did it with Mirajane. Cana's still a virgin and Lisanna obviously, too. Seeing the seven members of Crime Sociere being forgiven is nice, especially since most of their past were out of their control. But who took Angel's virginity? Was it Midnight? Hoteye is out of question and Racer is more odd than Midnight to me. I hope it wasn't Brain. Simon still dead. Makarov still alive. He's the true immortal one. Natsu has still no sense for romance. And the reason he likes Lucy is because he loved Anna? Well, that's not the whole reason, but it's a contribution. |

What I will say though is that while Naruto x Hinata was the most popular pairing in the West, in Japan it was Sakura x Sasuke, Naruto x Sakura, and Naruto x Hinata in that order so a pretty big portion of the fanbase did get trolled there. Especially considering up until that point Kishimoto had strung along both pairings involving Naruto, while Sasuke literally left Sakura for dead only a few chapters before the end of the series showing very little possibility for him to return her feelings. As for Bleach, the Ichigo x Rukia fans worldwide made up the majority of the Bleach fans, especially Japan where it would matter most. They were the predominant pairing fans from start to finish so it understandably came as a blow to them. I wasn't surprised with the way it ended because I noticed that, despite all the flaws and inconsistency, the one thing Kubo kept consistent was Orihime's feelings. Fairy Tail had more reason for pairings to exist than the aforementioned and I know plenty of people only continued reading for that and they didn't even get a payoff. Most of the pairings are left open to interpretation with Gajeel and Levy being the most canonised. Erza being more into her appearance and Natsu claiming he and Lucy will always be together while they go off on an adventure with other guildmembers can barely be considered resolved endings, while Gray claiming Juvia's body is his was just awkward. If I were a pairing fan in this manga I imagine this would be the most unsatisfying ending ever. He's clearly setting up for a spin-off similar to Boruto becauce copying trends is what Mashima does. |

I followed this for 9 years and now it finally.... With Naruto over, ad Bleach (tough I stopped following that one in 2011), and now Fairy Tail, all the long running series I followed since I started watching anime are gone... makes me kind of sad. Fairy Tail used to be really awsome... it used to be one of my favorites in 2009-2013.... and I still think that the anime is exceptional until Tenrou Island Arc. Saddly, is been so long, and after so many arcs (and after Mashima stopped copying One Piece), it started to go down hill. I had great expectations for this arc, as it started really strong and with a very nostalgic feeling.... But Mashima couldn't take it to its true potential as he totally avoids consequences and having some of his characters killed... the whole conflict become to big fr Mahima, and without some Narutoverse Great War type of shit, he ended it in the most superficial way possible, making his characters defeating huge armies and some of the most OP characters he ever created with barely any effort. But at least we got Juvia.... she was the main reason I keep up with this one... She should had been the main character. Overall 7/10... Because I can't be an asshole and ignore that he first half was really good and enjoyable. So is basically like 9/10 or the first half, and 4/10 for the rest. |

We know all of this to be true. MoonStar9 said: Naruto x Sakura, and Naruto x Hinata in that order so a pretty big portion of the fanbase did get trolled there. That´s where you start to be wrong and the 2ch rumors start spreading. At the time popularized by people like Chatte Georgina who was the Hitler of the Naruto ending Holocaust, even committing metaphorical suicide. While the cynical Naruhina fans like me were doing this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ula8oi_M4Ww Like I said it´s proven through Interviews that Hinata started to become more popular than Sakura, this was in the Japanese Manga rankings polls, not the western (American ones). The Naruto "The Last" Movie more than doubled in ticket numbers compared to any Naruto Movie that had came out at the time and this was a Naruto X Hinata Shojo fanfiction with a DBZ fight spliced in (my favorite part). I´m oly stating facts here, no matter how rabid the Narusaku shippers were about their opinions. You do not get reliable information from people that send deaththreats to the writers of their "supposedly" favorite story because their favorite couples didn´t get to fuck. Furthermore, the Sasusaku shipping Poll that was released at the time, I assume you reference as a source, had Naruhina come in second place. That polll had 20k votes in iit. The Last Movie sold around 2 million tickets. If we assume an average of 10 $ in Yen per ticket. Quite the difference. Especially for a Movie that celebrates the supposed less prefered couple. And mind you, creating fake accounts on internet boards is much cheaper in time, effort and money than to buy multiple tickets and keep rewatching a Movie you´ve already seen. MoonStar9 said: Especially considering up until that point Kishimoto had strung along both pairings involving Naruto, while Sasuke literally left Sakura for dead only a few chapters before the end of the series showing very little possibility for him to return her feelings. Again, true but info based on a poll with 20k voters, not very reliable statistic. I´m one of the pairing war induced holocaust survivers. I remember that list. Nonetheless according to rumors fans had given up on it but when it happened they were overjoyed so that´s why they were probably so vocal. It genuinely could be that they are Japans favorite. It´s two main characters and they won against many odds, so it´s very possible. MoonStar9 said: As for Bleach, the Ichigo x Rukia fans worldwide made up the majority of the Bleach fans, especially Japan where it would matter most. I wasn't surprised with the way it ended because I noticed that, despite all the flaws and inconsistency, the one thing Kubo kept consistent was Orihime's feelings. Dude, again this sounds like major bullshit to me. Something a loud minority came up with to support their nonexistance claims. I personally couldn´t care less about the Bleach pairings, but it was always obvious to me that Orihime would win that fight. 1. Rukia is far older then Ichigo, there is already a discrapency. 2 She´s never showed any romantic interest in him and neither did he. 3. Ichigo got nervous around the prospect of her being naked, but so did with Matsumoto and Orihime 4.They are from different realms of reality for crying out loud. Ichigo would have to leave his family to be with her and sacrifice alot of other things. It´s a mess. 5.Orihime very openly adressed her feelings for Ichigo towards the audience. Logic aside I can´t prove what was more prevalent in the Bleach fandom, I never got too much into it and there is no Shoujo Movie to undermine my point. So I´ll give you that if you link me some form of proof that´s not anger induced destruction or delusion through denial. Ahm, no. By far Naruto, if only for the theme of the "next generation" needed the pairings the most to justify the children that´d inhibit the Will of Fire. I agree that Fairy Tail hinted alot better at them since it was far less modest in every sense of the word. MoonStar9 said: and I know plenty of people only continued reading for that and they didn't even get a payoff. That´s because literally everything else in this Manga outside the Art was dogshit There was nothing else left to look forward too and it´s their own fault for trusting in Hiro Mashima. I didn´t care about the pairings. Result, didn´t get hurt. But I can´t blame them for trusting in at least that after all the buildup. Hiro Mashima indeed cucked them. MoonStar9 said: Most of the pairings are left open to interpretation with Gajeel and Levy being the most canonised. Pretty much, agree with all what you´ve said here, but there most likely won´t be a spinoff for Fairy Tail. This isn´t in Hiro Mashima´s power alone. Kodanasha has to be interested and Fairy Tail simply isn´t as Big as any Shueisha project that did this. I can with 95% certainty tell you that it´s meant to promote the Movie that´s coming out, since it´s heavily influenced by Mashima. Which will "pretend" to resolve those threads left in the final chapter before it comes out. Just to make every stupid fan that still trusts the guy go like this:https://youtu.be/l6umfTLuCI8?t=18m46s.But then reveal that they didn´t finish the 100 year quest, just a portion of it. Get Nalu development hinted at, that goes nowhere , just to cocktease the fans once again and have Jellal show up just to give some fanservice and leave. I think to remember that Mashima wrote how he was very impressed with the Transformer Movies and that´s what´s his writing turned into. This Movie will be Transformer Movie quality shit . With a 5% margin of error. |

I didnt like the ending because everything was too rushed. 1. I dont know why Mashima left all ships to the end yet he KNEW that he wouldnt make every one canon in last chapter...at least as it deserved to be. Like when the fuck did Gajeel have sex with Levy? And no way Juvia would react like THIS after all her love for Gray. Nalu no comment. No fanservice like kiss either. 2. Villains were defeated so fast and simple in last 2 arcs. 3. There are so many unexplained things in Fairy Tail that should have been solved. 4. 100 years guest. *clap clap* 5. No future. I will be so happy if Mashima would make some additional story, better ending or any spin-off of Fairy Tail (sure he will do this). 6. As I said, ending was rushed and it deserve better alternative. But thats our Trollshima, isnt he? |

MAL counts some bonus chapters and stuff like that in that, ignore it really, it's 545. Anyway, ending as it was supposed to be. Hoped for a bit more fleshed out NaLu, but I guess it's confirmed anyway. Looked cute and very fairy-tailish 7/10, from me, as I love the characters and overall mood. The plot never was anything great, and I didn't really like the whole last arc much, but that's not what I cared much for in the first place. |

Although I hated the last arc I thought the last chapter would leave a bigger emotional impact on, considering I followed this manga almost half of my life, but I guess this shows how less I care about the characters, even after such a long time. About the chapter itself, well it was that what I had expected, a bit slice of life with some confirmed and unconfirmed ships and a bit fanservice of course :D, it was decent overall, nothing special, tho. |

I'll repeatedly request for the change to 545 chapters until it happens! In accordance with the manga, I loved the ending! I easily give it a 10/10 because Fairy Tail has helped me get into a good mood whenever I felt down and the characters are both relate able and lovable. :) |
