| @johnyjohny @seQuency You shouldn't be taking MAL ratings directly at face value, you have to take into account why they're getting the ratings they do. In Haikyuu's case, it is obviously from the sequel effect. The first season is at 8.68 and I think even the people that have stuck with it all the way until now will have to agree that season three isn't 0.45 better quality-wise than what season one was. In other words, if it was all just one MAL entry it would not be this high rated. It's the exact same story with Gintama; the vast episode count combined with the sequel effect gives a massive artificial inflation of the score. Now you can argue whether this system is good or bad as you want, but the point is that as long as you're aware of these elements then there isn't really any point in complaining. Like yes, I also think 9.13 for this anime is pretty silly, but it's perfectly logically explainable why it's all the way up here. As long as you learn how to interpret how MAL ratings are generated then you'll get a rough idea of what every show reasonably "should" be scored. It also helps you learning to look past the whole "x is overrated, y is underrated" nonsense that people keep doing because they're too lazy to actually analyze the situation |

| Just watched all 9 episodes today and it felt good...until that cliffhanger aaahhhhh ;-; This has been such a fun game and I'm so happy with all the Tsukki character development <3 I almost didn't think he would come back after that injury. |

The way this episode ended was bullsh*t (in a good way of course), I didn't even bother commenting here until I watched the final episode half-way LOL my heart was racing that much that I almost couldn't breathe. xD |

And that because of this subjectivity shouldn't exist. Talk about convenient. Lmao. Just because people are hyping a show doesn't mean you have a right to make blanket negative statements about people who actually enjoy the shows. | Ukai's new voice threw me off right away and kept me distracted the whole episode, kept wondering who the heck was talking every time he spoke ><". Didn't know Kaunari-san passed away, may he rest in peace!! Tsukki is the mvp this match, seriously. One ep to go!! |
| Nishinoya was quiet but he saved everyone in this episode, of course with team effort from Asahi and the others. Tsukishima, my fave, is finally back! :D Just one more episode. |

| ...Anyway... What an awesome episode right?! I'm glad I waited so long after ep 8 to watch it, cause then I would have been forced to watch ep 10 even though I would have been so sleepy! What a cliff hanger!!!!! My heart went out to Hinata when his legs just would do what he wanted. I've felt that, and it sucks!!!! Also, I thought Nishinoya was going to have a broken neck or something, but he just gets up all spry an what not. Nice Noya!! |
| Most emotional episode yet. Tsukki's style and read-blocking really is the epitome of "slow and steady wins the race". Sure, he's not flashy like Hinata, or classed as naturally talented like Kageyama, but he does have great perseverance, and it's had him carrying this game really well. I'm just glad that people are finally noticing him! One character I do find really interesting is Shiratorizawa's Coach- it's like he wants to defeat Karasuno in order to directly deny Hinata, as if that will justify his decisions in the last 40 years of his life. What he doesn't seem to get is that people deal with the same circumstances differently, so the outcome is almost never the same. Also, if I was watching this weekly that cliffhanger would've been the most torturous thing. Seems like the guys down at I.G are sadistic af lol |

| That one play by Nishinoya was INSANE! Tsukki's back and instantly already a big improvement for the block aspect. Also COME ON! ... Hinata better have won with that back attack, pretty sure he did but damn that cliffhanger. |

| I'm so intensified and focused on the match I felt like I was with the 3 guys watching on the seats. And MVP for the whole Karasuno team they are really good they did all their corresponding roles and where near now!!!! And the VA for Ukai was changed and he died, R.I.P I really liked the voice and charisma Ukai shown from the past. I guess good luck for the current VA even though it feels uncomfortable to me now. |
