I wanted to know if it was the same as me. I too 'dropped' Stein's Gate at around episode 8 then decided later to finish it and enjoyed it.
It's also happened with some other shows.
I noticed you dropped Stein's Gate and was curious as to why.
I don't have a large collection so I'm just playing arena until Tempostorm release their meta snapshot and I copy - I mean - I get inspired by their deck recommendations.
The most active forums tend to be the Anime Series, Anime Discussion, Anime & Manga Recommendations, and the Casual Discussion. The other forums also become active from time to time so check the others every once in a while.
As for writing reviews...I'm not a professional reviewer, but I do love reviewing anime. Here are a few tips I know to making a good review:
1. Avoid showing bias to the anime you're reviewing. In other words, try not to get too personal.
2. Do not make comparisons with other anime. That's for recommendations.
3. Be sure your grammar is correct.
4. Avoid looping a topic in your review.
5. Use your own words and don't quote other reviews of the same anime.
6. Avoid spoilers at all costs. Sometimes people read reviews before watching an anime. If you spoil an important plot point, you can ruin the experience for them.
If you're creating more professional reviews, it's best to follow the tips above. However, if you're doing personal reviews, then you can have a little more freedom with the tips above. You can be more lax with Tips #1, 2, 3, but I say always adhere to Tips# 4, 5, and 6 (especially 6. I hate spoilers!).
I do not post professional reviews on MAL since I don't think I have what it takes and I'm a little sensitive to criticism. But I'm more than open to writing personal reviews. In my blog, I have a list of "Mini-Reviews" that are like quick summaries and opinions of anime that I have watched in the past. Give them a read if you want a few examples.
