First half of this episode was AMAZING. Really tough to see what Kakeru was going through in the other universe ... reading that draft from his mom legit made me tear up and start crying T_T God I can't imagine what he felt after that ... dang lol. It was nice to see the progression of Naho and Suwa's relationship in that universe as well. I certainly commend Naho for trying back in this one, but not gonna lie ... the black hole theory is pretty dumb lol. That's uh ... quite the creative explanation XD Anyway, Naho's gonna have to pull off something big in the last episode. I guess THIS Kakeru will get to see who she gives her chocolates to, huh? :P

Honestly, it's difficult to feel sorry for Naho. I find her meek personality to be more frustrating than depressing or cute. A lot of guys in Japan love girls like that (and most likely outside of Japan too) but it just pisses me off especially since she just got a letter that predicted everything that has happened so far and yet she still doubts it. Also her friends have received the same letters too.

Sad moment with Kakeru and the mobile phone. But besides that: My rating of this show falls with every episode like the art-style. It's little to none development in the last episodes. I'm glad it'll be over in 1 episode.

Okay that black hole explanation was kinda dumb, but so what.
I like Kakeru less and less because of his way of treating Naho.
But I don't hate him. I still find him cute.

Episode was alright. But I got confused did Kakeru find the message now or in the world where he died.
And his death looked like an accident, not a suicide.

Damn.. Ok, I really feel bad for both Kakeru and his mom now. She did everything for Kakeru with good intentions, but she went about it the wrong way by not talking to him at all. Well, at least she realized it in the end. Man, suicide doesn't end the pain, it just passes it on to someone else. Kakeru got mad at Naho and the other for not knowing anything, yet he didn't tell them anything. I really blame his Tokyo friends man.. Who'd joke about their mom committing suicide? Seriously, they're such horrible friends. I guess I understand why Kakeru didn't want to open up to them.

So, blackholes, huh? They should've just kept that a mystery and not give us that sit.

Anyway...

They should just rename this show to Dick Riding Kakeru or something. Cuz that was too much. Just let the guy die, and the future would be better.

I hope the Kakeru x Naho doesn't happen. Even tho I hate them both, I think I hate Kakeru more.

Just 1 ep to go, hope Suwa gets the love he deserves.

The first half was so depressing, but it wasn't like that in this timeline so Kakeru should man up and move forward!

The writing reminded me of Wong Fu on their average days just then. Now there's an actual fuck I'm asking what about and it's not a good thing.
Just need to find out how to quote this every time so I can dodge the stupid 30-character limit.

This episode was intense.
Nice to see things from Kakeru's point of view. It must be really hard to deal with such a guilt.

I enjoyed the episode.
Still Suwa, tho.

After seeing what actually happened to Kakeru in the Alpha timeline, I couldn't handle the feels because of how sorry I feel towards him... Darn, that cellphone draft scene had me in tears :'(

Naho is trying her best but Kakeru is still playing hard to get. I know it's hard to get over insensitive moments (I've been the cause and receiver of it lel), but I really hope he warms up to Naho soon. I also hope Suwa will get the girl he deserves.

They're startin' ta explain why the letters arrived eh? The Bermuda Black Hole theory sounds kind of sketchy but anything goes in Science Fiction, I guess~ I'd like to see more of the explanation soon.

That black hole thing was stupid, no explanation or even some handwave with magic would be better.

Do they all write diaries? They showed Naho's diary in the first episode, but what about the others? They can just exactly remember what happened on each day 10 years earlier? I couldn't describe a day from week ago.

Kakeru first life was really sad. He was so alone. And reading those texts from his mom :( poor baby.
I don't understand why he's so mad at naho though. I thought after the apology it would be good but he kept ignoring her.
And the black hole in the ocean thing...that's really how they sent the letters? I love the idea of them getting the letter from the future. I thought that was really cool. But the black hole thing sounds really dumb honestly. But oh well I guess. Excited for the last episode.

Exactly! I absolutely hate this overdone TV trope. "Don't want to hurt her? No problem! Just be as distant and as cruel to her as possible! That'll make her... you know... not hurt." – NOBODY in real life would ever do stuff like that! It's a stupid plot device and it really, REALLY needs to go.

Yeah, the Black Hole Postal Express ruined the anime's most interesting element. A shame.

I enjoyed the manga which this followed closely story-wise but the art and sound left something to be desired. It also made me rethink Naho x Kakeru's relationship. It's not healthy. Naho spends the whole time walking on eggshells as to not say anything 'wrong'. In the end she's even quoted saying "I will save you time and time again" which is sweet but from here on out Kakeru needs to learn to save himself. Plus he was downright rude to her at times. What type of relationship is it if he's always going to rely on her to say the 'right' thing or else he'll kill himself? Still, I liked that this touched on the subject of suicide.

Why does your kaasan have to tell you first she's getting a divorce?
Holy shit! Dat reply Kakeru sent to his kaasan.
Suwa tells Kakeru he confessed.
Dat message from kaasan.
Truck-kun came to say hello.
Kakeru is avoiding Naho even after apologizing.
Dat Engrish.
So they were in 2012 in high school.
Dat ending.

I knew that time travel explanation in class was the cause of it all.
If you see that my post is exactly 1 month old (or more) from when it was posted... Don't waste your time, especially when you want to reply with something petty & insignificant. Assume that I've moved on (because I have).

So all along kakeru actin hes happy so he dont hurt and be problematic to others but deep inside hes really depressed eyy

So he really committed suicide

The thing that triggers his suicide was his mom phones message from him added by his depression from that tokyo friends, the relay, grandmother got sick lastly the valentines gift of Naho/confession of Suwa.

I think finding his mom phone is bound to happen but the gang manage to change a lot of things and made kakeru really happy before the new year i wonder if kakeru still gonna suicide

I like that they finally explain Kakerus POV. Depressing af though and almost feels very hopeless that they're trying to get him not to suicide. Giving these teens the responsibility to save a suicidal kid is pretty daunting. And even if he lasts past Valentine's day, he is still suicidal and needs to go through therapy to fully recover..

The episode starts off nice. We are seeing Kakeru's point of view and what happened with his mother and what would happen if his friends didn't make those changes to the events in the timeline that he commited suicide.

It almost made me emotional when I saw the messages his mother wanted to send him but she could not. Kakeru's struggle is actually quite realistic escpecially to those that are clinically depressed or have family issues.

I could understand why Kakeru was giving Naho the cold shoulder after their fight. When people argue, it takes them a bit to make up for. Although there might be a different reason here, we'll see.

So a black hole is the explanation they came up with for the time travel aspect of this series, huh?. I mean.... who came up with this?

The part right before Kakeru was killed was so gut-wrenching. His words can’t be truer.....even if someone dies, life just goes on. That’s life. And the last person he thought of then was Naho. That was so sad.

Would have preferred if they just left the technicalities of the letters bit unexplained. That black hole shit is dumb.

Ouch that message from Kakeru's mom. It seemed odd that they decided to just not worry about trying to prevent Kakeru's mom's death just thinking oh she would have done it anyway. Wouldn't the same then be true for Kakeru following that thought pattern? It's also irriating me that Kakeru is acting like such a jerk right now when his friends are all trying so hard to support him. They deserve better.

For some people, it's not that easy to just tell them that everything will be alright. Kakeru saying that he would gladly die if it would take the pain away was deep and sad. It's a subject that I don't touch, because I don't know what that's like, but I can understand a little more why some people go through with it even with all the help they get. It's just a tough, tough situation.

Finding out why his mom did all those things was sad af. She was just protecting Kakeru from getting even more hurt that's all.

Kakeru is still cold to Naho, I think Kakeru is retreating in his shell, cutting off everyone from his life he loves as he thinks there's no future for him so he's being distant to Naho so that she starts hating him and when he commits suicide she won't be sad. They didn't tell us in this timeline but still Kakeru's suicide isn't fully prevented, he's still full of regrets and probably still wants to die, now all that's waiting to happen is that one event which will push him over the edge, in the old timeline it was him not receiving chocolates from Naho but in this timeline he is going to receive so who knows what happens and how will his suicide be prevented. It's looking really hard for Naho now, she just seems helpless at this point.

Things about how the letters reached them were kind of explained, not clear though. Well that's a start maybe they will explain in the next episode.

Next episode is of almost 40 min, looking forward to how things will end. Not to forget there's a movie too. So let's see.

Kakeru finding his mother's phone could be as much of a trigger as it is a way for him to find forgiveness. The issue being that if he finds the phone while he is alone, he is bound to do something harmful instead of focusing on the last part of the text message. Kakeru's mother asked him to enjoy life, if Naho and crew are around when he finds and reads it,  they can console him through the initial shock to see the bigger picture.

This episode is better than the tearjerky snoozefest it has become.

We see the perspective of Kakeru from the original timeline. It seems that he did not actually committed suicide. He just read the unsent texts of his mother. So naturally, he got sad and emotional but this made him to jot be careful and met a tragic fate.

It also supports why I am not comfortable with how the gang is treating Kakeru. They are making the same mistake as his mother of trying to shield him from pain.

Oh well, I hope this time, they get to prevent his death.
