Sure I was weirded out at the this episode’s 1st half but I had this feeling that I can trust this show just from what I’ve seen in the first few two episodes. Then at the later part, everything just felt like puzzle pieces falling into the right places.

why would she want to sell her to brother?:D I mean it makes no sense, she wanted money or she wanted to .. what? she starts to love him and want to have advantage over him by having sex?

also her talking about gender things and underwear in the first part of this ep are ultra crazy out of place and stupid... why even put a dialogue like that there?

ech I had higher hopes for this anime, but the last two episodes were bad ;/ and they didn't even show her from front in bra! ;( ;( ;( nothing good in this anime yet...

@NirvashX1 pure? are we watching the same show? she literally wanted to have sex with him and for money! if she decided on it so fast and easy then I doubt she is still a virgin ;d

@Rezurrekt I totally agree! silly dialogues under bridge and with underwear, sounds like she really was selling herself and she said that in episode two.. at first I thought she meant to tease him and meant something else.. like using her body for modeling or something..

I found some scenes silly. Like when they are talking under the bridge and she walks by him and the audio silenced but what she whispers to him is displayed.

The first two episodes made it sound like she really was just a misunderstood girl, but then she goes into his room and offers herself for sale in this episode? Sounds like she really had been selling her body, after all.

That whole conversation about him seeing her underwear and having carnal desires... Can't be just me who thought that whole conversation was awkward. They agreed not to be too formal, but their tone still remained dry and reserved with one another. How could either of them casually bring that topic up?

The diary thing was a nice touch. It did allow us to get a better look into the depth of Saki. Without it, I would have had very little expectations for the tv series.

Yuta and Saki living together, exposes some habits that the two will not see eye to eye, like sexual orientation with cross-dressing, though Yuta never does this in reflex. But when it comes to understandings, both of them still have aways to go not just by their own, but in the family setting, where strangers come together through clothing and such, but it is reflective on the person in account of their actions, like the temptation of underwear.

The only trusty one being Saki's close friend of Maaya Narasaka knowing their stepsibling relationship, as Saki attempts Yuta to "buy" her body on a night where their parents are not back home late at night, the recap of Saki's diary the same when she and her mother Akiko first met Yuta and his father Taichi and going through the 1st week in her own POV, it's betraying that promise if she decided to have sex with Yuta then and there, which also betrays the commonality of their hearts in one tandem by living as stepsiblings.

Yuta may have folded his feelings for Saki, but it's also Saki who has to realize that she can't always close her heart towards him, not forever.

The anime may be doing things different than the LN and manga, but hell, this immersion is SO GOOD that it passed the 3-episode rule check. Gonna be sticking around for this one.

Is this story is really "fresh and unusual" offering a interesting take on step-sibling relationship, or this just another work where despite all this psychological stuff they will start dating each other in the end? Cause if they really will star dating, then it's just another generic anime about boy and girls becoming step-siblings.

@stalzQ Ultimately, the genre listed is romance, not just slice of life only. What makes this not generic in particular is that they actually show these two being not quite comfortable with each other from the start and actually showing an adjustment process and not just filled with romcom or ecchi cliches that you would normally see in a series like this, like a domestic girlfriend or oreimo or whatever else that has involved this theme in anime. Guess the execution here is the standout factor here, unless there are twists later which idk about.

I like the handling of complex teenagers and all, but God this show is testing my patience with the long shots and ridiculously sombre music. When any piece of media does that, it has to be nothing short of revolutionary for me to not fall asleep. Space Odyssey was damn slow, but it was a pioneer in what it achieved. So maybe this show will be the gold standard of portraying step siblings relationship? Don't see it like that yet. Each episode almost hits a brilliant chord but never really reaches there. Messages are very subtle and the conversation is often dour while trying to be uber realistic. I had to do a good amount of mental gymnastics to get the reason behind her sudden declaration, simply because her own perspective has been mostly condensed into a diary of sorts.

One thing for sure, there's an age some single child teenagers really wants the perfect sibling to totally understand them and "make them better", especially when they are frustrated with their parent(s) in some way. This show does portray that nicely, and also shows new same aged step-siblings causing peer pressure.

The best thing about this anime is I am having a better time thinking about what I watched rather than watching it.
"All truth is meaningless. In the end, 'meaning' comes from the mind of each individual human. Even when there is a single truth, it can mean different things to different individuals. The truth has no meaning in itself!" - Erika Furudo

Welp I sure enjoyed that conversation about wanting to but not acting on stealing underwear. Peak writing right there fr.

Ok so I had already seen the moment that Saki goes into Yuuta's room on insta or youtube or something, and some of the comments were like "It's not what it seems, there's more to it than meets the eye". And I was lead to believe the same thing, after having seen the first episode and getting a grasp on what kind of anime this was going to be- definitely not some degenerate ecchi (wouldn't mind tho lol), but rather something more moody, more grounded. But now having seen the full episode... that's it?? She just met him just recently, kinda likes him, and now wants to get railed?? They're step siblings bruv, and with the said more realistic take this anime is going for, that's kinda weird. Not saying that it's impossible and can't happen, but idk man.

In your standard ecchi show, sure, go in guns blazing. But again, this is not that kind of show, so unless this step sister character is supposed to be kinda freaky, her getting on her step-bro's bed came way out of left field.

In any case, whatever, we can overlook it I suppose. At least it let to a somewhat deep and heartfelt conversation between the two regarding their pasts and their parents and what not. That's the important part. It's still just a bit odd to think though that she had just tried to get laid with her step bro. I mean, not that I'd MIND, but from a writing perspective, yeah no. That could've been done differently for sure.

@DrezoMezzoMix she didn't offer her self to the others before him and she didn't offer because she loved him ?
But she offered because she thoughts thus way can he repay for her what she is doing cooking for him , but he stopped her and she said sorry so this is the end , don't think in the dialogue more than it's appears , if you go deeper you will think something wrong
And continue see it till the end every thing will be in the light soon

If someone understands you too well, is it really necessary to whore around then? I don't get the trauma which led that girl to do what she did. Classic example of a series trying too hard to convince how realistic its themes are, when they simply aren't lol.

Thanks to a certain part of the episode that was at the 13 minute mark, this was the most difficult to write about. Anyway:

- Saki's friend visiting over turns out to be not as big of a deal as I thought. Its main purpose in the episode is to provide the stepsiblings a springboard to finally exchange numbers.

- Appreciated the TL note regarding the differences between tamagoyaki, dashimaki tamago, and mentsuyu. It wasn't necessary in grand scheme of things, but hey, Japanese food trivia.

- Yuuta not wanting his adopted mother to was his clothes somehow leads Saki into a conversation where she ponders if Yuuta is secretly wearing lingerie. 😕 Okay...

- Yuuta's talk about learning from doing reflexive actions struck a chord with Saki.

- Since Yuuta hasn't cohabitated with a girl his own age before, I can't blame the kid for his eyes to pay attention to lingerie that isn't stashed away...

- Yuuta rightfully pointed out that having sexual desires, and acting upon those urges are two different things.

- After a seemingly normal dinner, here comes - in my opinion - what felt like the most out of left field scene of the entire show thus far. Yeah, I'm talking about the scene where Saki goes into Yuuta's room at night. 😕 Huh? Where did that come from? For a show with a mostly grounded, moody, somber tone... a half naked Saki suddenly showing up on Yuuta's bed was the last thing I was expecting. Look girl, I get that you weren't in good spirits earlier in the day and that Yuuta has been a great guy... but, really? I expected a scene like this from a trashy romcom or ecchi. The apparent lack of foreshadowing only made it feel all the more out of left field. If there was any foreshadowing, if you ask me the show didn't do a good job of properly establishing it beforehand.

- Just before Saki was about to seduce Yuuta, the episode cuts into her diary. I totally didn't expect that.

- Saki's near fatal encounter with truck-kun was caused by... her listening to conversational English recordings. I was expecting that she was playing very loud, heavy metal music... but okay.

- For all those wanting the show to lighten up some more, sorry but Yuuta having fun with Saki and her friend is merely reduced to a 10 second flashback.

- Kudos to Yuuta for not giving in to temptation. Having a beautiful girl dressed only in her underwear willing go in your bedroom at her own volition would have been a difficult thing for a straight teenager to resist.

- So Yuuta's biological mom cheated on his dad. Ouch.

- After all of this, Saki is developing "uncertain feelings" towards Yuuta. To the point that she's having trouble sleeping at night. What are those feelings exactly? Is it really romantic love, or something else? And how will she deal with them?

Similar vibes to Higehiro with Sayu in a way but in that show it was clear that Sayu had self image issues while here it's more confusing...

I agree that Higehiro made Sayu's issues clear to viewers, and it was easy to follow along. Whereas for Gimai Seikatsu, I had to rewatch the episode just to better understand what was going on. And in retrospect, the "bed scene" is reminiscent of Higehiro... at least in the sense that Saki was offering herself to Yuuta because she wasn't sure know how to repay his kind, considerate treatment of her.

Incredible fucking episode. Loved every second of it. It's really so masterfully directed. What a gem. Aside from that, Saki and Yuta are still trying to get along with each other in their own ways. But, it is nice to see they're not rushing anything. Saki is growing her own feelings for Yuta but she's scared of being too dependent on Yuta. I can fell her emotions there. It do be like that sometimes. A great episode. Loved it.

She turned off the lights, undressed herself, got on the bed with Yuuta and seduced him.

I wasn't expecting that at all.

Then Yuuta directly told her off by saying, "You're now acting like the type of girl I hate the most."
