| I love rewatching them over & over. There should be more shows that have a similar love story where they gradually fall in love & not rushed there is ups & downs like in normal relationships. | honestly ... no idea why this anime has a high rating ... it's just ok for me nothing special & couldn't connect or feel anything toward the characters .. like meh |

| first half of story was 8/10… the last few episodes just became meh to me. Like why is the Ruler even evil? He caused the grotesques to attack his own city? And Miyo already seemed to master her powers on her first time using them, even though she never trained them in all the time she was locked in the mansion. despite all that, the ending was adorable. 6-7/10 for me. My favorite part about this series was the beautiful colors/shading and animation. |

| Omg.... there were so many sweet lines in this episode especially in the dream and the dance party... I don't know anymore... everything was sweet and made me smile like I was the one getting proposed to lol :"3 And Miyo! She looks amazingly beautiful with that modern look! Aaahh I hope one day she'll come back in that dress and Kiyoka will wear a suit. That moment when Miyo confronted the dark part of herself was good. I like that now Miyo is really growing and developing into a more confident person :") With season 2 coming, I hope there will be more real "happy marriage" moments from them :') because honestly, I need an episode where they just live their daily life, being lovey-dovey and walking around the city hahah. Thank you so much Netflix for giving me sweet treats for the past 3 months. I thoroughly enjoyed and definitely loved it!! โกโก |

| When Miyo woke up in front of the old Saimori estate I went "oh no a nightmare". The horror atmosphere in the estate (for Miyo) and the forest (for Kiyoka) was so good. So the emperor caused the unsealing of grotesque graves and had a specific aim of wanting Kiyoka dead. But Miyo and Kiyoka won the battle and woke up safely (YAY). Both of them apologizing for their faults and assuring that they want to be with each other... CRIES. That line where Miyo said that Kiyoka was always supporting her all the way but did not want to face it - she was saved from her abusive family but being able to believe that Kiyoka wants to be with her, that she can share her burdens with him (like what her grandpa said) is a starting point that needs to be learned. Her life before is to numb herself to not get hurt, but now with a good environment and family with Kiyoka, she can learn of happiness. After watching this I jokingly told my sibling that the 'happy marriage' in this series was only shown in the last few minutes lol. Really looking forward to S2. The latter part of the series, I felt a slight awkwardness of pacing esp the temporary separation of Kiyoka/Miyo and how Miyo got to know about her family - but I still really enjoyed everything. I love the OP especially, the voice actors and I am really glad that this series got an adaptation. |
| I know this story is about Kudo and Miyo but I just got interested in the Prince. Please give us a story about him in Season 2. He really is interesting. And about Kaya's journey. |

| This episode spoke itself. Simply beautiful. Marriage proposal in the end was cute and wow, Miyo is so OP she can destroy anything. |

| Miyo had some well-deserved character development (about time lol it was starting to get old). I wasn't a huge fan of this anime and mostly watched it because of my sister's recommendation. It was a little too slow for me and I expected more romantic moments between Kudo and Miyo. I'm glad Miyo at least had a happy ending is far away from her abusive family and is in such a better place. I wasn't expecting Miyo to have any secret powers so it was cool to see her use them, but it just felt silly to me. A lot of the conflicts felt silly. Like why was Arata shooting Kudo with a gun while Kudo had a sword? That's such an unfair fight and Kudo had no chance of winning lol. I did like the first half more but all of those ghosts took up too much time. With that being said, I'll still watch the second season. Although, I wouldn't rate it higher than 7/10 due to the repetitiveness. |

| Overall I liked the show. It was beautifully animated, a real visual treat. But the story really fell apart in the back half. All of the plot twists with her family and the rushed ending were very unsatisfying. It felt like two different shows. They should have kept the focus on a cinderella story with magic fights instead of them all of sudden becoming dream warriors. |

| I wasn't very fond of Miyo. Or really it's not even Miyo, but the writing. At first it was like, "Really? No one's going to say anything about how this family treats this girl?" And then they finally show that someone stood up fro her but was fired and then yadda yadda. I mean they made this family so... ridiculously evil-sounding?? Like I don't roll into Cinderella thinking all of that really happened. Yeah there are family's like that, but here it's just like they kept adding stuff just for the sake of it. And then they make the "villains" lose everything so you can feel a sense of satisfaction or something, but it's just not. It felt like I was watching some kid's revenge fantasy in which, to be honest, their crush saves them-- in their dream of course. And I recognize it because I've been there and done that. It's painfully obvious and is kinda painful to watch-- not in a good way but in a "I see what you're doing and it's not all that great" way. It was just so stupidly dramatic-- like it's as if they based this off of someone's mundane story. Like maybe their little sister really did get more attention for one reason or another, but in reality it was probably way less of a big deal than it seemed but the person's just a drama queen. And then since that isn't actually enough to make people feel sorry for the main character once they created a story out of it, they had to add all these ridiculous sad story scenarios. You can't fool me. I know that game way too well. I was at least glad that Miyo started to stand up for herself, but she was just a bit annoying for me. I'm also not much of a romance person yet I still try to give it a chance. Something about Miyo and Kudou just seemed so off to me. Like someone wrote out a lot of the parts that made them connect in a more genuine way. Yet at the same time, once they're at that level, I do believe they have that connection. It's just feels like steps were skipped so it's like... oh okay. I guess we're already at this point. Overall, I wasn't too fond of this one. |
| Didn't like the finale at all. Didn't understand wth was going on in the dream world at all. Miyo just started arguing with her clone out of nowhere inside of Kiyoka's dream? And then she was able to use her powers like a pro out of nowhere. Felt way too hand wavy for my taste. Great animation quality with solid art and voice acting was about the only thing that this show had going good. The writing was terrible, especially around the whole Usuba family. Saimori family went though all the trouble and finally got their hands on Usuba blood line and they just dump the first/only child? That made no sense. Then we have the Tatsuishi family who really REALLY wanted that child so they could get their hands on the Usuba blood line, but end up taking Kaya for their son's bride instead? What? Then when she finally got out of the hell hole and starts having issues with her powers her grandpa said he really cared about her like his dear family but wouldn't help her unless she becomes prisoner at their mansion. And they expected me to buy it that Usubas are caring family? Like they literally let her slave away being abused her whole life and she didn't even know they existed. |

| we got the finale. to be honest the ladder half of this series was disappointing. i felt amazing about the first episodes but the rushing through plotlines, or covering content we don't need really ruined this. this is still enjoyable... but not as good as i would've expected. |

| I will just say this : the official french dub of Miyo was AWFUL. I just wanted to slap her eveyrtime she was talking. She has that crybaby voice from beginning to end it's unbearable. So yeah, I think it kinda ruined the series for me. At least visuals were nice. |

So, initially this would be an easy 8/10 for me, but i must again complain about the supernatural element of the anime.
While the fantasy aspect certainly was an important part of the story, and the characters, i still would like the show more without it. Somehow the whole supernatural felt odd, every time it took focus, it just all felt really cheap, and out of place, like if the author had it all planned and ready, and then the editor was like "add some magic so its more marketable".
I don't know, maybe it would be better if this was just about Miyo rediscovering what it is to be human, and her struggle in a "new, for her unknown life", and that would be enough.
Still 7/10.

| @Swagernator The show does a fairly good job, however, it's developed more in the LN. I recommend reading the source material if you're interested in learning more about the magic element. It's deeply intertwined in the story, as Miyo received poor treatment as a result of not having a gift. Without it, I do not believe the story would be as intriguing and half the plot would crumble entirely: Usubas family wouldn't have to marry off Miyo's mother, Usubas wouldn't have gone through their recent efforts to reclaim her, there are evil spirits that need to be eradicated and that's Kiyoka's sole job to eliminate them. Later in the LN, there are several important reasons why Miyo possessing a gift now will be extremely important. |
| I didn't like the supernatural elements when it first popped up, and this last episode confirms it beyond anything. While Miyo talking to herself was kinda cool, the whole magical girl transformation she got and how she beat back those creatures was weird, felt incredibly out of place and somewhat off-putting, even. |
