That was a very unexpected development, wonder what caused Mikey to do all of that, and the last scene with his face expression is really great.

For a season that seemed to drag out and have very little action the last 2 episodes were amazing. Pretty dark but emotional and interesting enough to make me want a season 3 again. Honestly after how this season was going I was planning on dropping the anime but I really hope they manage to carry on the emotion, drama and mystery throughout the whole of season 3 consistently.

All that work just to still end up in the worst timeline lol.

And apparently Mikey can still speak for a few minutes after having a bullet put in his head 💀
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

Mitsuya is strangled. Hina is dead in a car accident. Hanagaki panics. He finds the last group pic he took in his house.

The worst timeline — Hina dead, major members of Toman dead. But Kisaki dead? Mikey the murderer? Mikey left a letter with the pic for Hanagaki.

Damn, Mikey had lost himself and killed everyone. But remembering Hanagaki brought him back to his senses, and wants to end it all by dying. Mikey's having a hard time, but Chifuyu dropped a huge clue on Mikey before dying. Mikey shot dead by Naoto, and he thanks him for that. Whoa there, Hanagaki's got a real determined face at last.

Worst possible timeline. Like even more people got killed this time on top of Hina.
As a former leader, Takemitchy could've been the next target but he reminds Mikey too much of his brother. He wasn't going to kill Takemitchy, just push him so that he or Naoto would shoot back.
So without Takemitchy, Mikey acted even more violently?
Remember Black Dragon joined under Takemitchy, I don't think they would leave Toman because he did.

damn why is it always a bad ending, in this timeline Mikey kills every one who was connected to Toman. it seems that he couldn't lead the group properly with Takemichi leaving the group. Hope this builds up Takemichi's character even more

Indeed, the worst timeline thus far. Mikey went and lost it.

Loving Mikey's black hair styles.

Let's put aside the question as to why Mikey went psycho and killed everyone for now; I'm 90% sure that that his absurd motivations will be explained later down the line, to an extent that is at least somewhat believable. The issue I have is that it doesn't seem like Takemichi's actions in the past and consequences in the future are connected at all. It's almost like the writers are playing spin the wheel: "Ok, Takemichi defeated Black Dragon and managed to kick Kisaki out of Roman? Alright, spin the wheel and see what the results will be! ‘Mikey slips on a banana peel and dies’ Bro, that’s pretty lame. Spin the wheel again. ‘Mikey kills everyone for some reason’ Ok now, THIS is something interesting and will get the audience on the edge of their seats. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner!” Maybe I’m not being fair; maybe it needs more time to play out and explain itself. But honestly, doesn’t it KIND OF feel like Takemichi’s actions aren’t fully connected to the events that happen when he returns to the future? Maybe it’s just me. Maybe the events are related. Perhaps Kisaki and Black Dragon kept Mikey in check in a way. I WANT to believe that a roadmap was planned in the writers’ room. But it just ever-so-slightly feels like they all went RANDOM BULLSHIT: GO! And finished the script in 5 minutes.

Nitpicks aside, this is the best episode for me so far from this season. Not just because of the big “WTF” moments, but because of a line that Mikey quickly says: “We can’t go back to the past.” I want this line to continuously echo within Takemichi’s mind. With all the loops that Takemichi has made in trying to fix everything and save everyone, he needs to learn that the world was never perfect, and shit will happen in one way or the other. The best ending this series could have is a cliché one, but still the best one: which is Takemichi finally accepting that no matter what he does, he cannot save everyone. That would be leagues better than the redundancy of him going back in time over and over again until he everything is exactly the way he wants it to be. Because then it’s pointless, we know it’s not going to work out, we know something’s going to get messed up in the future, because they gotta milk this story as long as people are invested in it. We can enjoy the action in the meantime, but in the back of our minds we gotta be thinking: “he’s just probably going to fail again probably, so what’s the point??” And if they’re going to be lame and indeed have a happy ending play out in the end with everyone NOT dying, the only anticipation and suspense we will feel through each of the loops is: “is THIS the loop where Takemichi finally succeeds?” Takemichi’s actions then just wouldn’t matter at all. The only thing that controls anything is the manga deciding when it’s time to end things, and to stop milking a repetitive story.

Maybe I’m being narrow-minded and failing to see that they are indeed setting up the bigger picture to this whole story. Maybe it is more than just going back and forth in time until Takemichi fixes things. But I still don’t see it. Haven’t read the manga, but I think I’m going to spoil it just a little bit for myself just to find out if it really is just the same thing over and over again until Takemichi achieves a happy ending.

edit: So I just glossed over the summaries of the remaining arcs, but it seems that
i just think they just made an easy way out trying to make the climax part more interesting and strong. but this episode is just dumb. How the hell a Visionary, intelligent, strong leader loses his head for apparently gay reasons? only explanation is mikyes a psycho. I know the the person he loved the most his brother dies in the very unfortunate events and makes his life much harder. But he had the best of friends and apparently he did go through it and was enjoying life to the fullest. The the takemicchi comes and infuels love inside mikey. and when he left to leave behind all the crimes and violence, mikey looses his head and kills all the friends he adores the most?? Thats the worst anime episode plot of all time. ngl, the visuals, some of the dialogues was pretty top notch. but the main thing of an episode is the plot its based on. and its pretty fucked up.

So this is what happened...

According to Naoto, Takemichi is still an officer in Toman, but we learn that's not the case. Naoto is still alive and is a cop, so that's all and well. But what the hell happened to Mikey?!

As Takemichi said, this is the first time in which he gets to see Present Mikey. In every other timeline, there was no way to get into contact with him. But for whatever reason, Mikey decided to kill everyone important in Toman, including those in Takemichi's picture (Hakkai, Mitsuya, Draken, and Chifuyu).

We learn that Takemichi left Toman at some point and Mikey went down a path of violence. Before I forget, Kisaki was also killed?! Did Mikey kill him or was that somebody else.

So someone else entirely is causing all of this to occur. There is a bigger enemy than Kisaki apparently. What has happened to Hanma, or anybody from Valhalla, Mobius, or the Black Dragons?! I'm assuming in this next episode some of these questions will get answered.

I remember someone writing a comment about how Takemichi needs to live through the entire timeline to prevent anything from occurring. I think that guy had a point. At the same time, Takemichi does need to come back to the present to learn what exactly he needs to prevent and the circumstances behind it.

Let's see what awaits in the next episode, and potentially a Season 3...

Takemichi is so dumb, man. I can't with this unreasonable absolute certainty.
"Oh, I defeated Taiju and BD! That means I saved them in the future! I won't see past-them again!" how do you know?!?! why does he always take his guesses as an absolute truth?
And of course, we go back to the future and everything is worse and people are dead.
Also the chance of saving everyone is very slim because of the whole "being a gang" thing. Like I'd be surprised to find out that after so many years of being in a gang, every single one of them are alive and well. The "Steins gate timeline" is a tad more difficult to reach on this one, so I'd settle for a "Hina is saved timeline".

So Mikey wanted Takemichi to be like his big bro, the one who'll keep him from going wild... But, when Draken and Mitsuya asked Mikey to let Takemichi out of Toman it was because he was going too violent... Sooo, Takemichi didn't really help Mikey in that department in the first place so what gives?

Also I still don't understand how Naoto is able to realize that his memories have been rewritten lmao, this show...

Holy shit that was the best episode yet! My heart absolutely broke when we saw what future Mikey had become and how much he was suffering.

I think the worst thing about this is that is clear now that Mikey is the epicentre of all the pain and death so I can’t see a way this can end well for him while making a better future

There are moments when you're overwhelmed with emotions, and you just want to cry, yet the tears won't come. This episode left me in disbelief – the loss of so many characters, especially Mikey, is heart-wrenching. I find it hard to accept that such a tragic chain of events unfolded.
As Takemichi keeps attempting to fix the past, it's becoming clearer that achieving the same outcome he desires might be impossible. It's a painful realization. I can't help but wonder if this cycle of time travel will ever lead to a happy resolution.

Here's hoping for Season 3 with a much-needed happy ending

mikey waited in a foreign country to wait for takemichi (where ever he's at) and probably isn't sure if the mail even arrived in time. but takemichi did get it and went.
but yea I don't think its takemichis fault everyone died. its mikeys fault. he murdred them all.
so what Takemichi isn't allowed to leave the gang and live his life? or else everyone dies. thats a shame.
also mikey got blasted in the head and is somehow alive.
it woulda been better if he got shot in the body to make it believable. i don't mind tho, I'll just pretend that it got him on the... idk. idk honestly i can't overlook that xD.
bro needed therapy or something. he should have lived with the guilt instead of taking the easy way out. its kinda cruel to make takemichi do it for him. but the cop dude did it.

im gana predict takemichi goes back in time saves him goes to the future. girl dies again, and someone else too. rinse repeat.
yea you can't save everyone. at least the goal should be saving the gf.

Man, the best character arguably went down a dark path leading him to despair + death and all I rlly feel for him but not so much because yea he just straight up killed his own gang members one by one but then again it's all just wrong if I feel or don't feel for him so sympathizing is pretty difficult. This pretty much solidify that Mitchy can't save everyone, but I feel like it's possible cause it's never impossible with someone like Mitchy around.
