| While I've abundantly read the manga, it felt almost like a welcome surprise to see how much of an awesome character Jean is. Low key he was always the best character in the squad no matter how much Mikasa and Armin got more "manga" time. Love the care they did in drawing Annie for her wake up scene. She looks nicer than in the manga. Hoetzendorf said: The way Isayama tries hard to redeem Gabitch is disgusting, such a cheap trick. Disliked it. It's very evident that all the love he had for his creation Eren, he then transferred to Gabi. He gave her everything, plot armour, lines, development, and all of that never changed that she was and remains an irritating and unsympathetic brat that should never have been more than a secondary character. |

| oh my fking god.. this was insane. they brought back barricade and with it some exceptional 3d gear scenes. I was fking screaming.. Hats off Mappa Staff. Youre on a streak right now. Very good directing and animation. GG |

| AAAAAAAA I can't believe Annie is finally here!!! So fucking hyped to have her included in the story again. They teased us a lot with the flashbacks in S4P1, when she, Reiner and the others invaded Paradis, so it's not like we haven't seen anything of her, but I'm stoked to have her join the current action in the story. Gabi and Kaya's moment was really great, and I'm glad they made up. We also got some old-school Pure Titan ass-kicking going on in this episode, and I couldn't be more glad to finally witness some more of that (RIP Pixis tho) Another great episode and I cannot wait to see what Annie's going to do!! |

| Finally Barricades is being used again, thank god, i love that soundtrack.... The episode was unexpectedly good, it's too bad the episodes before (especially ep 4) didn't get the same treatment animation-wise since they were more important. Mappa has really strange priorities. |

| I expected this episode would be calm and not so good as the previous one. But still Mappa did really good job. The animation was great and some moments were way more emotional than in the manga! And omg, so much nostalgy going on when I heard playing Barricades after so long! Also, rest in peace Pyxis, Nile and everyone else. And finally Annie is here, hehe. :) |

| Insane episode with the old ost usage during the fight at the fort. Rest in Peace Pyxis and Reiner without these two this show wouldn't be what its today. the that Armin doesn't giving a fork about Falco once he knows his lover is free is amusing. its been so long since we have seen any Annie action that feels like nostalgia. |

In case of Aot there's this pattern...build up---->payoff then again build up ----->payoff in each arc These are build up chapters for e.g. If we compare this with previous arc then these are like 106-110 chapters(stuff from episode 8 to 12 in anime) 124-129 is one the best stretch of chapters in aot manga but when you compare it with something like 119-123(highest peak in aot) then ofc you're in for disappointment |
| This felt like a breather episode which I really enjoyed too. Also how long has it been that we actually saw Odm gear being used within the walls again, Made me remember the nostalgia of season 1. |

| The "Annie" reveal is so well done! Almost every end season, and at the beginning of S4 part 2, I would wonder "What happened to Annie? They haven't mentioned her in a long time." and,... here it is now! They reminded us from time to time through OVAs and/or Specials that Annie still exists in this story, but just enough to still make us forget about it behind all the eventful things that happened during these past seasons. And it still worked as a twist. Brilliant! Not to mention there's still a Levi lurking about. There are still a lot of surprises that could happen. Love it! EDIT: Forgot to mention the other things :P The ODM action from the soldiers vs the titans was so cool to see. Reminds me of those intense moments from earlier seasons when they were still mostly battling titans, fighting for their lives. Respect for Jean and Shadis... Sadge for Pixis T_T |

| i think gabbi did pretty good this time. huge character development for her.. nevertheless, this was good episode with season 1 vibe, human vs titans, annie's comeback.. Another cliffhanger as we expected.. |

| Eren is more distant than ever. Also, Annie is back, and yeah, why did I never think o the possibility of reverting back all the titans? That would also create a very convenient way for lengthening one's life, I would assume some of the titans could even date as far to as 2000 years ago. |

| They managed to play an uplifting song like Barricades while they were killing their own comrades. And people love it? You can’t make this up. Edit: I’m shocked at the amount of good 2D ODM action though. @I_Am_Freeballing I’m glad you were wrong when you predicted that all ODM would be in CG. |

| Of all the things that has happened, was really waiting patiently for the Gabi redemption scene Perfectly executed & paid off Isayama at this point in the story is still unmatched in terms of plot payoff |

| This was a spectacular episode large in part to how it continued off of Gabi (and kaya's) development furth reinforcing the themes of the show illustrated in the restaurant scene from last season. That alone would make this a great episode but the way this whole episode was more or less a callback to the original premise that has long since been abandoned was a neat novelty and very well done. The connie stuff feels like it could of been built up a bit more, its obviously someone at their breaking point making a rash decision so you cant nitpick it too much but it just sort of feels like there are bigger fish to fry first. I've heard people say this episode's contents would be the start of the bad stuff and potentially be boring on its own, so me coming away this positive has me hopeful I'm gonna actually like this arc, cause this is a highly specific scenario I was rooting to happen in a hypothetical final arc. Gabi is easily one of the best characters in the series despite being introduced so late, cause not only does her arc feel so satisfying and well earned, but she is pretty much the paragon of all the themes the series is going for packed into 1 character. Insane to me people were ever hating on her cause every action she has made has been completely logical since the start given her perspective. Just another unfortunate example of character flaws being conflated with being a bad character. |

And just as I suspected, Mappa doesn't come close to animating action scenes as exciting as those made by Wit. They tried to reach that same vibe when there was scene with major focus on several soldiers using ODM, but it looked generic at best. This season will be strong, but not because of the studio, but due to the foundation that the mangaka builded. |

| Gabi got to shine this episode, saving Kaya and then pleading for Falco. Commander Pixis, you will be missed! :( Barricades is such an amazing song, really good choice to use it in this episode with all the action! Of course, the whole AOT OST is a masterpiece! <3 THE BAE ANNIE IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

The Pixis scene was super sad. He did his best but he lost to his drinking habit. The montage of the titan slaying was great. Shadis is not forgotten. Jean really is a nice character to follow. He's always unsure of himself which is not a leader-like quality but his honesty of every situation is. I wish he'd feature just a tiny bit more instead of gabi. The lyrics of the song fit them having to kill their allies as well |

Man… It was honestly just weird as fuck 😂 Eren just unleashed The Rumbling on the entire world and they’re out there killing their fellow country men who were doomed because of Zeke’s betrayal and they have the nerve to play something extremely heroic and uplifting. Numbed and uplifted are not the same, that’s just tone-deaf musical direction. Arguably as bad as Kenny’s theme during S4E14. Still, the action was fucking great though. There was so much movement and it even had quite a long cut tracking 4 no-name soldiers who were all moving beautifully. Mikasa killing 4 titans in a row was imho better than Imai’s cut of her in S3P1. Would’ve been nice if we could’ve seen this level of animation for Levi versus Zeke in S4E14 though 😔 |
| Melting. Connie took Falco lol. The Ost sounds perfect with the moments. Really enjoyed the fight scenes with the Titans. Mikasa's so strong as always. Annie is back!!! |
