This might be a slow and filler-ish-like episode, but on the contrary, I loved it!

I've always loved it when a show has one of these segments where we see the characters just go on an adventure, whatever it may be, in a forest with a horse or in the plains on a car, going from one place to the next and taking in the scenery while interacting with the few people they encounter along the journey, before departing the past behind and heading to3wards your objective into the future.

The entire vibe of this episode is really just calming and relaxing, and we got treated to some beautiful visuals as well. The two older couples are pretty likable as well and the revelation that they came to Germany to see their criminal son was the plot of the ep. what's there to hate about a road trip?

i came here looking for an answer, but since nobody has brought it up, i'll ask myself - in the last scene, when the couple says they'll meet their son Robert now, what do they mean? i don't quite understand this one scene, at first i thought it would be a graveyard or a prison, but then i saw the building and now i'm unsure what kind of building was that

Great episode. Love how even the episodes that don't have a ton of plot development are always still really interesting to watch

Tenma: *speaks Japanese*
Elderly couple: Oh, sorry, we don't speak German! Only English.
Tenma: *speaks Japanese*
Elderly couple: Oh my god, this man speaks English too! Thank you so much!
@primaski lmao this was my reaction too, except with the dub.

>Deiter speaks German to the elderly couple
>elderly couple speaks English; Deiter can't understand them
>Deiter asks Tenma in English: "what are they saying?"

also I'm just as annoyed about that gas tank filling up the car now as I was first watching this 4 years ago.

nevermind that little gas would not realistically get them to a gas station when the truck driver couldn't even take Tenma & Deiter to one.

I hate it when anime/manga that I enjoyed ends, especially when there could be much longer plot and when I love main heroine :P

I wish I had magic glasses that let me see real world in anime colors ;)

This is what I'm talking about! You can show someone who's never seen this show this episode and they will enjoy it. Good stuff here.

Probably the “best” episode of anime I have ever watched in the cinematic sense. In a 20 minute episode, you have developed a very human and sincere portrait of two minor characters who I imagine will not reappear in the series. Absolutely peak anime writing. I was legitimately moved to tears by the end. You basically need no backstory to appreciate this episode. It felt like watching a very short film, in the sense that it tells an emotional, self-contained story. I preferred the Japanese dub and Spanish subtitles to French dub and English subtitles.
