"The story that was displayed in this one episode, though, is quite silly. Like, so funny that it's not funny, and hard to take seriously."
That's... that's kinda the point. Kinnikuman is meant to be over-the-top, masculine and stupid wrestling series that despite how silly it can be, it spins around this fact a lot of time, only for you to end up caring about these characters and your favorite winning. I don't think that you should expect a serious story from Kinnikuman knowing that characters like Puripuriman and Brocken Jr. exist (puripuriman has an ass for a face and brocken jr. is literally a stereotypical german man like stroheim from jjba is)
You'll soon be seeing Kinnikuman facing against a baby who constantly grows through his battle and adapts like Mahoraga from JJK, and a man who uses black holes as his attack technique facing a Dalmatian man. It's cheesy and corny, but damn. It's actually peak.
