My thoughts exactly, borrowing this. :)
Haru seemed to have fancied Louis, but now she doesn't even care (or isn't shown to care) he's missing? He wasn't perfect but definitely deserved better than this. At least one person missing him as an individual rather than an icon, a role model.

great series, though the romance was a bit cringe and poor louis he deserved better

tbh i prefer Juno over Haru but the plot says nope. too bad best girl always lose again and again in the end...

Was a way better story than Zootopia, and I actually enjoyed Zootopia. However, Beastars felt like a much more believable world where carnivores and herbivores live in the same society and are somehow expected to coexist peacefully even though that goes against their basic nature. Add to the complexity that is the relationship of Legosi and Haru, as well as the idea of a black market that is treated as a necessary evil in order to maintain this apparent peace, and you have a much more intriguing world than anything seen in Zootopia.

Kind of disappointed that Tem's murder was kind of put on the side (how come their version of the police never did a proper investigation into his death?) and the mystery behind what exactly happened to Louis (we never actually see him being eaten even though he offered himself to the Leo Group), but I assume we'll get answers to both these questions in season 2.

Aww... what a cute ending... and great announcement of the 2nd season. :)

I really enjoyed this anime. I really dislike furry subculture, so I would like to thank all the fans of Beastars who encouraged me to watch it, because It doesn't have sick, perverted furry-like element. And it didn't have them indeed. :)

I didn't like anti-carnivores writing in some scenes and some naive actions like that with fighting a pack of lions, but apart from these two elements this show was very alrighty.

Mature story, awesome opening, good music and of course original visuals. This anime should be put as an example on how to make a ood anime using CGI.

I had REALLY high SUPER HIGH hopes for this anime in the beginning all way toward the end, and at the ACTUAL end to find out that ep 12 was the last ep was just a HUGE letdown for me. I enjoyed most of the anime and I am sorry that it ended so abruptly and without much fanfare as far as i could see. :( I'm sad it ended this way w so little closure and satisfaction for me.

The fact this show is so good despite it's glaring plot holes and conveniences says a lot to me. It's honestly revolutionary in it's presentation, never have I seen 3D done so incredibly well, I would gladly watch more shows with CG if they looked this damn good and had this much effort and talent put into the camerawork, lighting, animation and coloring.

I do knock some points off though for how blunt the introduction to what is apparently a rampant human trafficking and murder filled society but we only truly know this in the last few episodes? I was thinking "devourings" were like a less common murder, a known but uncommon threat that created this sense of separation and animosity towards the different species but no, there are full on marketplaces selling PEOPLE meat, not only that but raising children to be meat. I mean this reveal is insane and drastically changes the entire context of the show but it does so quickly and without warning. So while interesting, it rubbed me wrong a bit. Here I'm thinking that the show was more about nature/nurture and overcoming our instincts with logic and empathy, but no, the society is drenched in this corruption and evil, which makes characters like Louis even more brave and interesting. But we don't know this till the very end, felt like a missed opportunity to really hit some emotional peaks and build this world out better.

Speaking of Louis, the show just forgets he exists??? I mean, I accepted it because the Haru, Legosi stuff was so well done but none of the drama club cares their insanely influential leader is gone on the most important day of the year? The school doesn't care either? Also, where did Louius get a gun? Why did none of the Leo Group have guns other than the one guy who was randomly on the outside of the building? I was hoping for some sort of clever team up of Legosi and Louis to solve the situation or for some sacrifice to be made but all we got was a really convenient rescue with probably the goofiest scene(not in a good way) of the show, Louis blowing someones brains out with a fucking pistol. Then the notorious gang asks him to drop his weapon? Uhh, your entire place was just attacked, several of your guys are dead, your leader is potentially dead or near dead and you're going to ask this guy to drop his weapon? I get the manga probably wrote all this that way but man is it some really bad bad planning and writing. That being said, I still enjoyed it once I accepted this is what the anime is forcing itself to do, I wish it earned that conclusion more and made it feel more like a miracle that he saved Haru and Louis would of been better used and acknowledged.

Overall though, loved the show. 8/10. Legosi's arc is pretty great and there's a ton of respect for these characters and a lot of potential for them in the future as well as this world as a whole. Staff did a great job, this is groundbreaking stuff, this show is a show we'll look back on along with this studio's previous work as landmark moments in anime, as crazy as that seems for how fantastic this CG looks and moves. It's sad a show about animals handles human relationships better than 90% of anime, step your shit up guys, Beastars is here :P. It's not perfect but damn is it close. Very excited for the rest of this show when it comes out in the future.

OMG YESSSSS this anime is indeed a masterpiece worthy of the name.
i can NOT wait til the 2nd season. I assume Logasi was talking to either Louis or Bill who just popped some "rabbits blood" pills or something.
But Man I loved this. This is an anime needed for the Furry Community too few animes have an all anthro cast and even anime sw/ onw or 2 anthro animals cast always end up as background supporting characters like gabiru from "reincarnated as a slime" or the lizard man form Goblin slayer
But THIS is PERFECT
I grealy look forward to whats to come next for this anime ^^

Agreed. Well, this is a manga/anime for girls which is disguised as one for guys. Im perplexed by the fact that barely any mangaka finds a sweet spot with romance in their stories. Stories made by males barely have any romance, yet it's there in a teasing form, but stories made by females have the roamce in front and center with action on the side. Yet female mangakas for male audience love to have their slutty main heroines and female audience looves it. Stay single guys.

Idk, it seems the creator of the manga must have been trying to make this whole big scary wolf and small frail rabbit forbidden romance as a metaphor for a grown man and a young girl and that's all I can see when I see Legosi rejecting Juno for Haru. Lol, anyway, kind of a good show. I'll probably watch S2.

I feel like I'm the mother of Legosi that so against with Haru because they're not same species. I prefer Juno (but she's two-faced girl though) for him but his love for Haru is commendable. I salute him for that. I'm so touched. I want them to be happy!! It's very wrong to see a wolf and rabbit relationship but I guess Legosi can make it happen ❤️

Louis is missing!!!! I don't know what happened to Panda after, Legosi didn't find him after rescuing Haru.

can't wait for season 2!

Tbh I didn't expect much going into the anime but in general it had a lot more to offer than I thought. In general quite liked it and with the direct announcement of the second season it's also a nice touch to have it cut off on such a cliffhanger.

This is such a great show. I can't even properly put into words how much I love Legoshi and Haru. My heart's still racing from watching these last few episodes, seeing them almost have sex, the disappointment and fear I felt of the emotional consequence of Haru's body rejecting him, Juno going from a close second waifu to a crazy bitch...there's so much to unpack here.

I need more. Inject Beastars straight into my veins.

It was ok. Not horrible but not great either. The only reason I feel this anime was high rated was because a lot of teenagers related. ‘Omg yeah me too, I’m exactly like legoshi, I keep my feelings in too!’

And lmao Haru, made us laugh.

Ok anime.

I regret watching this with my mom. Now she thinks anime is all skewed furry porn. Made it to ep 11 before she said, “yoyo, what are we watching?”

Legoshi sure has grown. I remember back in the beginning when he could hardly find words while with Haru; now look at him, confessing his love.

Decent series. The story itself is probably one of the strongest points here. An underlying tension between carnivores and herbivores in addition to forbidden love between two species that couldn't be any more different from each other, facing many struggles. I liked that aspect of it, but I felt like a lot was left out as well... The episode where Legoshi broke in to save Haru from the Leo Group was supremely unrealistic. 35 members, yet 2 were able to take them all on. Yeah, sure. But that's only one flaw, and much of everything else compensates for it.

6/10. I would be rating it higher but I personally found this series slightly distasteful. It just wasn't for me.

Enjoyed this quite a bit though I admit I was wondering with myself if Legoshi would end up eating Haru in the end, heh.

Managed not to think about Zootopia by the time I got a few episodes in, show stood in its own right. It did get more standard romance anime except with furries instead of regular high school kids in the last half or so but stuck with the carnivore-herbivore dynamic enough that I don't think the show dropped off that much. Don't think I can quite give it a 9 but an easy 8/10 from me. I guess season 2 next year?

Really glad it lived up to a lot of the praise it got and its one of the few CG shows that actually looks pretty great to me, which isn't surprising coming from the same studio that did Land of the Lustrous. While I felt like some of the dialogue was a little..."Oh wow, this is what our world is like, isn't it?", which isn't really the most natural way of showing off more info about the worlds logic, it didn't bother me too much and I really came to like the characters.

Looking forward to season 2.

I thoroughly enjoyed the series for what it was, a forbideden romance embedded in the protags mind. I think I like him for him being a big wolf that has to deal with living in a world designed against his very existence. He intrigued me with his inner dialogue but im unsure how much ill enjoy him in the 2nd season. Is he gonna be more happy go lucky or stay his melodramatic way. Anyway the finale for me was good, but not amazing.

Only picked this up because of the good word of mouth it was getting. I wouldn't have picked this up if not.I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected. Well written, good characters and some of the best cgi I've seen from Japan when it comes to a tv show.
Look forward to season 2. I want to see more of the Legoshi-Louis relationship and to see the murder thing being tackled. Also, won't the taking down of Shinsen-gumi have a consequence?

Okay. For the whole season, Beastar gives me amazing way to portray another anthropomorphic show. Using Shounen story telling style, the show really focused all of its time to make Legosi became a useable character. The approaching still nice to be followed. Yet, the characterization goes into good direction. Giving all of the scenery into amazing movement. Making all of the interaction feel nice and natural to seen. Satisfied enough? Ofc. Maybe some parts got missed its opportunity to blowing up. Even not much side character got its time to improvise the story. Because, ofc, the whole story only focusing the wolf and its struggle to melt the rabbit hearts and its lonely-fragile nature.

The art and sounds synchronised well to the story parts. Great ending soundtrack. Amazing 3D CGI opening too. Yet, with that fact its a fun-ride to watch this full season with so much happiness. Afterall, i can't say anything to deduce my thought. The series still continued, and the story still had time to improve and resolve its mainly premises. Once again. Beastars season 1 overall score goes to 8. Thanks for the amazing moments its served to me. All of them still good. As an Introduction, 8 must be well enough for this kind of show. If only the show gives me more satisfaction....

woah that last bit (not the legoshi and haru part) got me excited for season two. Great anime! People have been comparing it to zootopia, but the two are very different. The only thing they have in common is the herbivore/carnivore segregation and a bunny mc ( and they are both very different).
