They adapted first chapter of the fourth volume and skiped king's spy, that means no second season.
They could possibly make a second season with that being the first thing shown in the first episode, but we need to wait to see how well it sells.

IMO they should've ended with the ED song instead of the OP song. The general tone of the ending lended itself to a more uplifting atmosphere. And the ED song is so much better than the OP.

Thanks god they didn't follow the manga, manga is more tame and sanitized (Krum kiss was on the forehead for example, and lot of fanservice is removed or reduced), instead they follow more close the light novel.

The ending was a bit rushed and some parts were removed, maybe it mean we will not have a S2, no matter how well the original material sell, but i still hope for a Overlord miracle.

Overall, great adaption and a great isekai, 8/10.

Well, that's over.

As I suspected, an underwhelming ending. It really was too late for a conflict. They didn't even use most of the last episode for it either, they just stopped it halfway for 2 separate bedroom scenes at the end. At least they stuck to their roots, I guess...

Happy it followed the LN and not the manga. Nice ending too and personally happy that they closed it with the OP than the ED, Damn, I love that song.

Hope it sells well DVD/BD-wise incl. the merch and hope for a Season 2! 8/10!

Lol The day Overlord gets categorized as a harem ecchi anime like Isekai Maou is the day hell freezes over. The entire plot of Isekai could be described as "Next addition to the MC's harem hentai like cast please". That's the extent of the plot. An excuse to add to his harem, stupid as fuck. The traitor didn't even get any real punishment at all. That's the difference between a pussy like Diablo and Ainz.

Diablo is just another generic MC harem protagonist, Oh is the girl cute? Let her live.

What Ainz would do? Tell me your reasons and if they are not good enough die, cute or hot be damned.

Also, when did I even mention Overlord before this? Oh right, never.

Come on, do you think i'm stupid or what, all i did was look at your favourite characters + the fact that your account is most probably an alt made by someone else because you conveniently joined this month + the 10/10 you gave to overlord.

But i don't want to start an argument with you, because i enjoyed both Overlord and this show. Feel free to make other 100 throwaway accounts. My intention was not to deflect the criticism, but point out the absurdity of some people's reaction and leaving multiple posts to say the same thing over and over.

Amazing how almost your entire reply is in regards to me enjoying Overlord.
And how none of it is in regards to the actual criticism.
My original post was about how this was harem ecchi trash. Why bother replying to me if you are not even going to address this? What a time waster.

"My intention was not to deflect the criticism"
If that's the case then don't blatantly try to deflect criticism.

"Feel free to make other 100 throwaway accounts."
"but point out the absurdity of some people's reaction and leaving multiple posts to say the same thing over and over."
This is the second account i've ever had on this site. Maybe 2 times commented on this particular anime. So stop replying to people who you aren't actually talking about, unless you have some sort of actual proof that any of these people are the same then stop accusing people out of paranoia.

The main criticism is that this is a generic harem ecchi anime, one that seems quite self explanatory. And it's a common one, you see people complaining and your first thoughts are "They are mostly the same person"?. That's quite the jump to a conclusion, one that came from a grade A failure in logic.

If you are going to continue to sling accusations without any real proof I'm going to ignore you as I don't really want to waste my time with this any longer.

I was a bit confused that it ended, since I was pretty sure I'd read that it would be 13 episodes. I also don't get why there even was a censored version, as very little was actually changed, and neither version really showed anything (not even a nipple).

Overall, I did like the series but I had a few issues with the finale. There did seem to be a bit unanswered and they crammed quite a bit into the final episode. Aspects felt rushed and I think the villains could have been fleshed out a bit more. Alicia's change of heart felt cheap, as well.

That being said, I'm holding out for a second season and may pick up the LN if I get around to it.

Between his appearance, his voice (both of which remind me of Fairytail's Jellal) and the way he acts (both Maou and regular), what's not to like? He's like the perfect protagonist.

Overlords season 1 was pretty good. However with season 2 and especially season 3 added in, Isekai Maou is a lot better. Diablos on his own is easily worth 10 Aintz's.

Aside from that, ecchi comedy is a lot more enjoyable then sadistic edgelord drama.

Sure, but then I believe we already established your opinion isn't worth much.

Season 1 is the season that made a lot of people think ''well this might actually be a pretty good show''.
Season 2 was story and character wise both good and bad as it has its great moments and its flaws, but it did suffer from pacing issues.

Then season 3 happend which ruined all the character development and made most of the plot pointless on top.

Even despite the ecchi level (for someone that dislikes ecchi) in Isekai Maou, its far more of an enjoyable experience then Overlord season 3.

lmao edgelord? Is that not diablo himself? Whenever he talks so proudly like a chuunibyou? Perfect protagonist? When he always goes full cliche and being pussy whenever any girls near him? He is just another op isekai mc with pussy personality and shitty story again after all, the anime is just following that trend again, making harem in fantasy world, but Overlord is one of anime where the protagonist is the villain to rule the world not gathering harem or make many fanservices as many as they can. Nice try dude, i don't know if you are just trolling or just upset because apparently in Overlord 3 Ainz is going full evil in this season i assume, but the anime is called "Overlord" for a reason, google it if you don't know what it means, not a "Beta male experience in another world and i am falling in love with this girl in the first sight". Just to be clear, keep using "edgelord" word doesn't make your argument better, instead it's just a stupid rant without any actual points, remember the author of Overlord himself never say Ainz is nowhere close for being a good "undead', he is in fact one of the most evilest entities ever exist in that world, the fact that he killed arche team like a pest is the most satisfying thing ever because that's the moment when he shows us he isn't the "good" guy like you think in previous seasons. Also looking how you are still new to this site also makes me think you are also new in terms of watching anime, so i don't blame you if you hate evil protagonist like Ainz, Alucard from Hellsing, or even Light Yagami, because that will hurt your precious heart i am afraid

He is the perfect protagonist because he displays both great weakness and great strength, and both of it is believable. On the side he's smart, but also cares. He reflects on his actions, but tries to be confident as well.

I don't know who Light Yagami or Alucard are (I always think of Blazblue when I see Alucard written), so dunno about them. Ainz however, is a terribly written protagonist, It doesnt matter whether he's evil or good when he's just a plain bad character.

Chuunibyou means something vastly different from Edgelord tho, I'm afraid. No idea which of those definations you got wrong to this extend. Dont really care either, got look up words in a dictionary or something, so you can use them properly.

Diablos does acknowledge he was like an Edgelord before he came to the new world, and is still suffering from its effects.

It's kind of amusing how I mentioned Diablos speech being the bane of Edgelords only to get a wall of text reply from an Edgelord as a response.

Oh? And when did you learn that word, I wonder? For me, I believe the first time I learnt of that word was when the game called ''Overlord'' was released. Might of been before you started using the internet tho.

Look it up. It's a good idea of what an evil overlord could be like. You know, without all the unneeded edgyness and ''muh burn the world! eternal darkness to the filthy mortals!'' But still plentyful evil.

''Evil always finds a way'' rather then ''you DARE insult my friends?!''

Ironically enough Isekai Maou does have edgyness as well. But surprisingly it actually manages to subvert it by giving understandable reasons for said edgyness, turning it from ''unneeded, just because'' into plot relevant.

People dont hate Edgelords because of ''dark, gruesome'' but rather, because Edgelords want everything to be dark and gruesome just for the sake of it, instead of a well writting plot/characters.

Overlord season 1 was great because that was before the writer started on letting his (Edgelord) audience decide how the story and characters should develop. It was still dark, it was still gruesome. But it had good story and character development as well.

I actually enjoined the show in the beginning for what it was, but the last arc especially ruined it for me. It was about as generic and lame as it could get. Between Rem's stupid moral code that almost got her and the rest of the city killed to Alicia's character flip flopping, it really got painful to watch. And now we got a full on harem and somehow Alicia has joined in, just felt so forced.

And Diablo just kind of pisses me off. I know he's acting or whatever, but the novelty has worn off for me and I just find him annoying and preachy like any other stereotypical harem protagonist.

Also the enslavement stuff I just never got used to, it's just..... weird. Especially after this episode where they double downed on the enslavement and they were like "actually we're not really slaves, despite being slaves! It's really great!" When I thought one of the main objectives was to get the enslavement chains off of them. That whole scene was just really cringeworthy and the whole enslavement thing is awkward.

It was an ok watch, but I just think it's nothing more than just another stereotypical and generic isekai-harem-shounen.

ok sorry for being harsh, but i will tell you, he isn't a bad writing character, try to read his wikia or light novel so you can understand his character more, he is written as an evil personality since the season 1, people tend to think he is neutral character when in fact they forgot any good things he ever did the purpose is for him and his servants only, if it doesn't have any profit for him, he'll just let it die because he won't care, just look he ALREADY told us if he doesn't feel any mercy or sad feeling whatsoever in first episode of first season and people still saying "why, why is he evil" something like that after whay he did in season 3, and he never feel anything when he killed a person, tell me, please tell me what makes Ainz is a "bad writing" character just because he isn't a good guy, or the anime sometimes can't catch everything in light novel tell. Again you just can't accept the fact that he isn't a good guy and try to blame his character personality, besides Alucard is more and more crazy than him and many people in community praise him so much because of that, that already tell we don't always need and have enough good protagonist every time. Just because he is evil doesn't mean he is nowhere as "bad written" character.

Oh? And when did you learn that word, I wonder? For me, I believe the first time I learnt of that word was when the game called ''Overlord'' was released. Might of been before you started using the internet tho.

"Overlord" means in general "a person who is lord over another or over other lords" that means he is the highest, and ruling or governing arbitrarily or tyrannically which is why people who being entitled as Overlord always do anything to keep his power beyond anything, which in this case when Ainz is trying to spread Tomb of Nazarick's influences over the world, and by saying do anything that means even if it's a genocide he'll still do it for the sake of his kingdom.

And yes i have played Overlord Raising Hell and Overlord 2 games in my ps3, when i was in junior high school around 2009, that's a pretty good example of how good a person carrying an overlord title, that's why i can tell you Ainz suits with that title..

''Evil always finds a way'' rather then ''you DARE insult my friends?!''

Lol dude did you even watch the anime? Or is it too hard for you to comprehend that everything they did from season 1 is their "plans" to spread his name and so to make them known in the world? You know they just can attack the humanity already and they won't stand a chance, but they don't because they want to be feared and respected as entity, not being thought as human enemies, that's why they make allies with human as well, not just brutally killing everyone. But no, you directly think Ainz is only an empty-headed man that will kill anyone if they insult his dear friends, do you not remember he asked them in the beginning are they really prepared to die, so doesn't matter anything happen if they insult or not insult his friends they'll still die becuase the consequences they accepted. That's their evil plans to find the way..

He is the perfect protagonist because he displays both great weakness and great strength, and both of it is believable. On the side he's smart, but also cares. He reflects on his actions, but tries to be confident as well.

Something bothers me why, among many great protagonist out there, why you seem praise this "beta male" Diablo so much, great personality? Oh you mean the cliche personality where "i am too pussy to take all of their pussies" thing? Or his cliche "overpowered mc surrounded by girls he helps"? Or "oh no i accidentally touch a boob but still grab it anyway, i am panic" like that? Speech in the end? When he casually forgive a person that almost destroy the city and humanity? Talking like "I was like you too, so i can understand your pain" bullshit? But oh he is gonna be my harem and plot is needed so let's forgive her, it's fine, really fine. Dude, there are a lot things like that happen in mediocre anime or anime with "the power of friendship" thing, anime like Death march, Isekai smartphone, SAO, they have something like that which is why they are shit according to community. If you think that's a great thing, i am jealous with your innocence, besides there are a lot good anime isekai with mc who have better personality than him, i would mention some like: No game no life, Drifters, Re:zero, Hataraku maou-sama, Gate, Log Horizon, Mondaiji-tachi, Grimgar, and even Overlord itself, if you have time to check those anime i said, then tell me again your opinion and are you still praising this Diablo man or not..

There's no ''better then other protagonists'' tag. Its a question of being a good protagonist, not better then others. After all, what matters is how enjoyable a series is, and whether or not characters a well written or not effects this.

I dont expect someone that uses expressions like ''beta-male'' to actually have a remotely reasonable idea tho. You spend too much time preaching words others whisper in your ear instead of using your own brain..

An edgelord would certainly speak of innocence like they actually have any idea about corruption and purity, haha. After all, you are all talk. Being edgy is ''the cool way of life'', no?

Maybe live a decade orso on the dark side of life or the internet, then come back and see if you've learnt something.

What a shitty show, fanservice was awesome if they hadn't tried to have a serious story. Diablo is working for the charity, being nice to everyone, sparing and healing enemies (especially the girls or for the girls) that might harm his companions. Fantasy world is not very well developed, people are too lax in a world that is supposedly medieval it might as well have a school life setting.. building a modern cafe pfft Shera pls you're breaking the 4th wall there

The characters are the worst part about this. The girls offered themselves to Diablo on the first episode, basically begging him to give them the D. Story tried to give them some background though but they don't really get more depth. Diablo's character is inconsistent, it's the same reason I hate Momonga from Overlord, with their acting, you'd think they could've won oscar or something.

Diablo was first introduced as shut-in who hates romance because he couldn't have it, and he doesn't know how to interact with girls apparently, but what happened after the first 10 minutes, is that he's completely a new person, it's like the writers have forgotten what his character was supposed to be. When he was drunk, for someone who lack social skill, his first instinct was to finger a girl.. yeah his character is awesome and consistent. He's basically what the ecchi plot wants him to be, he's being shy but his hands won't stop groping the girls boobs or private areas. Make total sense lol

None of the villains are worth mentioning other than the female ones, because you know Diablo is going to conquer them somehow someway.

It's a shame that Death March kara, which I consider to be a much superior isekai series, has a rating around 6 and this is so easily above 7. Borderline hentai disgusts me, if I want something like that I would've went for a hentai instead. Garbage like Shinmai Maou and Masou Gakuen, only difference is Shinmai's protagonist is actually enjoyable, and the ecchi scenes are far more enjoyable because of someone like Maria.

+1 to this lmao I was wondering if I am watching a different show when people say Diablo is not your typical isekai protagonist. He's so forgiving and kind and benevolent that it sickens me. He's such a SJW when it comes to the girls it sickens me. His entire character screams "so fake" to me. But hey, they're girls in a isekai setting, you forgive them and you will get to bone them eventually. A good trade off, right?

Diablo's character being consistent, rather then inconsistent is precisely why I personally love him and hate Momonga (who is indeed extremely inconsistent).

While I agree that Alicia shouldnt have been forgiven that easily, Diablo does give a good reason why he does, as he can understand quite well how she became that way. The way Diablo handled it was honestly a very good way.

ps: Benevolence and SJW dont mean what you think they do. You can't use those words the way you used them.

AAAAHHHHHHHH Okay like, Rem, I can accept that because it's Rem, but Klem is way too much of a child to be wearing clothes like that. Someone please put some clothes on her. Anyway, this anime was an extremely crazy mix of stupidly lewd and awkwardly serious and somehow ended with all the girls losing their clothes in the end, which I kind of expected to happen at some point, and in the end... it was fun. It was trash. It was stupid, trashy, fun, and I enjoyed it.

Just because he's shown to have switched between his real self and his maou persona doesn't make it consistent. Just because he's shown to have troubles being in character when he tried asking for help from that blonde wamen protector doesn't make him not inconsistent. Just because he's "in character" as in his demon lord persona, doesn't mean he won't be flustered at certain scenes and stuffs, especially when it comes to the ladies. They overplayed his lack of social skills just to make the shut-ins sympathize with him more and it backfired.

Also, just because she's given an excuse for what she's done, doesn't mean that her actions were justified/should have been forgiven. How quickly most of the girls accepted her reminds me of the cheap moe tactic that people often employ in show like this. "oh look, that's cuteeeeeeeeee" forgetting that she was about to wipe your existence off the planet just a couple of hours ago.

I know what they mean. I looked up their definition before using them, as English is not my first language. Of course I don't mean benevolent as in he's so kind that he spares everybody, he definitely didn't spare most of the guys in the series, maybe even the girls but it doesn't matter because the story is gonna spare the girls anyway.

And by SJW I mean getting mad and protecting the girls whom you have known for less than a day by getting mad at people arguing with them. What gives Diablo the right to be mad at Shera's family situation and antagonize Shera's brother before he even revealed his shitty side. That attitude reminds me of the SJW action on the internet, insisting on protecting the wamen even though it may have been their fault. The siblings have known each other since birth, definitely better than Diablo, yet he's trying to be the hero antagonizing the brother, again, before he showed his true color. Stop it, you don't know the whole story, don't try to be the hero before knowing the full story.. is what I was thinking.

Despite the borderline pornographic content, this is actually one of the better written fantasy-harem series. Surprisingly heart-warming, almost. Some memorable scenes here and there too, with the fight against Galford being one of them. A second season will probably tease out the potential of this series more. At this point Diablo is still steamrolling things too hard for the story progression to excite anyone, but this is honestly far from the worst of its genre.

Diablo the demon lord ? more like Diablo the harem lord, he added 3 more girls into his harem in one night, atta boy !

Looks like Klem and Edelgard didn't join Diablo on his adventure, does anyone know where did they go ? i don't think they went back to the fallen teritory since Eledegard failed to resurect the true form of Krebskulm, or maybe they stayed in Faltra idk

Turned out a bit better than i thought it would, Diablo was a bit blah, the heroines took a bit to get into but the world was interesting enough. 7.

I'm glad Klem is okay, I kinda liked the demon lord and it seems like she will be under the collar too to live in the city. Also it seems like Diablo will be sticking around in the new world and it seems he has no plans of going back to his real life. Most of all he ain't gonna release Shera and Rem in their collars. I didn't like Alicia was not punished somehow even though she plotted in the attempted annihilation of human kind, even though she suddenly repent she still needed a jail sentence.

Overall I thought it was a fine show but would've been great without the harem fan-service parts or the degrading of women. It was enjoyable in some positive parts but damn was it concentrated on ecchi scenes or made sure Diablo achieves his harem. I still hate Harem anime with every fiber of my being and that won't change, but this one was alright because Diablo was a bit funny and a good MC along with Rem, Shera and Klem.

I also felt it kinda was imitating overlord and kono subarashi with harem and ecchi as its primary objectives. It wasn't the best anime of the season but it also wasn't the worst.

6/10.

Well for this kind of series this ending was actually not all too bad. Nice Harem Finish! Pretty average anime in general but I do need to give props on the general characters and the wide traits they hold which was really nice to see in a Harem anime like this.

The "story" while not bad had a rather up and down pacing which really felt weird at some episode, but the episodic pacing was actually pretty good!

All in all a pretty decent harem anime.

So the whole demons army did nothing? That's a shame. I was honestly hoping for a confrontation between Alicia and Rem or Shera.

5/10. I like the start of the anime, but there are so many sexist themes around at the end that threw me off. It's always the guy defending the girls, and he is always defending them from other men, as if the girls are some sort of spoils of war.

I don't care what anyone says...

This series healed me from the burning garbage that was the Overlord series.

Between the two, this one was a more realistic what-if scenario for a virgin gamer being transported as their in-game avatar into a fantasy world.
