Wow what a great ending. Favorite moments:

- The scene when Yagami is calling Aoba up on stage, animation looked so beautiful

- Aoba getting teary eyed while holding Mozuku

- Aoba confronting Yagami at the airport (shed some tears ngl)

I need season 3 I want to see what Yagami got up to in France and see Aoba improving... does anyone know if the manga continues after this?

Great season! I'm gonna miss these fluffy girls for sure. This is definitely one of those fluffy girls doing fluffy thing done right anime. Sad that the adaptation is chasing up to the original material. If i can recall correctly, the manga is only ahead by not more than 5 chapters. The last episode adapted up to chapter 64 of the manga, and if i'm not wrong, the original material is only up to chapter 68 at this point?

Probably wont have enough source material to d another season i guess, unless we're talking about maybe an ova to adapt the few chapters they skipped.

9/10 for me, very fluffy and fun ride <3

So best girl Kou left :( That's just sad, but I can understand her reasons. I was more shocked by what they said about her originally wanting to quit... That would have been stupid.

Anyway, I really liked this season as well, but a bit less than the first one, so I'll give it an 8/10. The first one was more light-hearted with way less drama, which I enjoyed a lot, but this season and its drama were also good in its own way. It's nice to see SoL characters grow.
The two new girls are not bad after all, though I could have survived without them. I feel like they are just meh, and kind of unnecessary additions to the team.

I hope there will be a 3rd season someday. And if there will be one, I hope they skip Kou's absence, and go straight to her coming back. Maybe I should just check out the manga to see what will happen next... (Edit: Nevermind, the latest volume came out during the second season, and they both cover the same story :/ So no chance for a new season anytime soon.)

my god Momo is just to cute not to mention i love her moments with Aoba

with that said another great season and i see Ko is just like most Characters that is a big influence on the main and others but then ends up going away making everyone else stronger and that fits perfectly with her character always had a feeling it would be like that but now also meaning wont see her for a while maybe but on the other hand i am looking forward to more new characters to come in

also seeing as the anime is exactly where the manga is means it'll be a similar wait time for a season 3 and cant wait for that but till then will keep up with the manga

anyway love this series, will miss the anime while its away

This season to me was such a huge improvement over the first one (not that it was bad in the first place). Didn't expect to see so much drama in CGDCT show like New Game, but thankfully, it was one of the best I've seen in a while. None of those scenes felt forced or overdramatic, especially considering this was directed by the same guy who also did Plastic Memories.

I also liked how well Doga Kobo used their usual sudden and random bursts of sakuga to animate subtle and fluid movements during emotional scenes, which went a long way in enhancing their emotional impact.

This better get another season.

Simply awesome. I loved the first season .. loved the characters and them goofing around. I can't really decide which is better. First season had a definite goal in mind, that is to launch Fairies 3. I'm glad the second season wasn't just a repeat of events but dwelled more in the emotion and relationships. We also got to see the characters grow... Aoba becoming more ambitious in her career, Hifumi out of her shyness, Yun finding per place in the company.. and Hajime.. err... finding her place in the design team vs being the odd one from the motion team?

Another thing I realised... I really want to play Peco.

Whelp, I'm inconsolable. Kou leaving was probably literally the worst direction they could have taken the series IMO. I don't think I'd watch another season. And to think they wasted time shoehorning in momiji and then felt like they had to remove Kou as compensation. The fact that Kou and Rin are unresolved only adds fuel to my loathing of the author. This one goes on the list for me of shows to buy the rights to if I ever win the lottery so I can fix the mistakes the authors made in their endings.

New game season 2, for when you think constant melodrama will enhance your incredibly enjoyable light hearted comedy. I was almost prepared to overlook that in favor of being pandered to with increased yuri baiting but...god damn. Why in this show of all shows?

I see Peco went on sale congrats guys and the highlight of the episode was Yamagi leaving for France. I am really sad she had to leave Eagle jump, and the heart to heart goodbye at the airport between her and Aoba was great what ambitious women. I see also the rivalry between Aoba and Momiji is still on, I like it because its healthy.

Ko leaving the company was inevitable for Aoba to take her place and shine, that's what I think the writer was going for and also to make it interesting and sayonara to old game. 8/10.

Love the show and the second season didn't disappoint- for the most part. The only negative was the new interns as I could not stand either character and they were given a relatively heavy focus and pushed other characters to the side.

I feel like this season was better than the first. It's sad that Hifumi got fewer moments in the second half though and she's one of the reasons I continued to watch. I'd want a 3rd season, when the manga gets far enough, not just to see how Momo and Aoba's rivalry develops, but also because this series makes me want to start getting serious about programming and game making (which I haven't started yet).

So much feels! I had tears in my eyes several times.
It's a great finale with the introduction of Aoba as the main character design. I loved that scene when Kou calls Aoba to go on the stage, it was beautiful.
All the girls progressed so much. It's good to see that Yagami trust them to continue what she has started.

I'm sad that Kou left the team :/.

Overall, I preferred the first season, but the second part of this one was pretty good.

Ubisoft actually released a great game lately for Nintendo Switch (Mario+Rabbits - as far as I know no one else before got a permission from Nintendo to use their mascots game which was made by someone else than Nintendo itself), maybe it happened thanks to Kou-chan's influence :p

So nice of Ko to credit or let everyone see Aoba who's behind the character design of Peco during the panel. Aww. Aoba deserves that so much.

Rin crying over Ko leaving for France made me weak. Waaah. But she has to leave for her to improve and apparently it was Aoba who made her want to improve more. Gambare, Ko-san!

I really don't mind another season of New Game! since I really miss these characters already. I just hope the games they're making are playable. Haha.

Seems like the next season would be after two years plot-wise or maybe Kou-chan would be phone only character there, who know? Or maybe the movie when they make a trip to Paris then?

Let's hope for the third season that wraps-up everything then. Let's face it, everything was made for the developement of Aoba and other characters so when Kou leaves they gets promoted to vacant poisitions.
The next time it would be Aoba turn to shine!

And as for this one, it was nice watch, on par with the previous series, even though the first one had wrapped everything up a bit better. But I still enjoyed a lot this one and I also liked the new characters.

7/10 Pretty good sequel

Lovely final episode.
Rin's confession was beautiful. (I got some dust into my eyes. ;_;) Anyway, I bet Kou is totally aware of her feelings now. (Silly Hazuki ruined the moment a bit. She just wants alcohol, cute girls and no drama. lol)
I liked how both Nenecchi and Naru didn't like the possibility of Umiko leaving. Aoba and Momiji were quite synchronized in this episode, too. Everyone gets along well, which is very important. Even if Kou leaves, there's no doubt the team will be allright. It's Aoba's time to shine! She totally deserves it. Besides, Kou's departure isn't definitive (kudos to Hazuki and Christina for stopping Kou's original plan to quit and make her get new experiences for some time instead). I really hope she returns for an eventual Season 3. A trip to France as an OVA would be nice, too.

I guess abit glimmer in eye is fine.

As expected from slice of life with game theme.
I do expect Yagami to leave once she lost against Aoba in design competition so she probably look somewhere else to learn better, kinda felt bad for Rin though.

8.5/10 for slice of life and 9/10 for actually staying with game theme with dramas + character development.

Tbh i am kinda envious with the characters because i am also a programmer that literally had zero understanding and an artist who already abandoned as one despite blessed by talent.

"It's sudden, but I'm going to a French company to make a game with them...and learn from it." What kind of things can Kou learn in France she can't learn in Japan? How to bake a croissant? How to make smoking still look cool?

When it comes to games made in France, they're really all over the place...I started looking on Wikipedia and everything from Chuck Norris: Bring On the Pain to Just Dance has been developed there. I dug through the category on Wikipedia looking for some solid games that were made in France but all I could find were Life is Strange and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.

Poor drunk Rin's really upset about losing her girlfriend. Not quite as funny a drunk scene as the one we got in the first season that ended up on that police show.

Gee, Hazuki was too drunk to recognize the beautiful yuri in front of her and wanted to go to a maid cafe instead. You've got pure unadulterated girls' love right before your eyes, why would you want a fantasy?!

"Because I'll tell you, you're a real pain in the ass!" Wow, that's the first real swear word in the dub. Well used.

A little detail at the end that nobody cares about but me: Peco is CERO B. That's interesting. Wasn't Fairies Story 3 CERO A? What could be less wholesome about Peco? Then again, if Super Mario Odyssey is CERO B...maybe this is an accurate reflection of CERO getting stricter that one animator put in.

Good season. Narumi still worst girl. 7/10

Aoba & Kou at the end the way they were when talking to each other was red frag for Kou & Rin's ship, Kou accepted Rin's feelings but once she gets back it mite end Aoba x Kou if they spend 2much time together, not saying they have feelings for each others but there is defiantly attraction between them & that's dangerous for Aoba x Rin ship + i have seen red fags for that before like when Aoba comforted/showed support to Kou, Kou went out from the party (or what it was i forgot) in the hallway & Aoba went after her & that scene the atmosphere was red flag it was S1 + their first meeting it really seems like they set up Rin for heart brake for future

IDK, i didn't enjoy this season as much as the first one.
New girls suck. I hate them.
Yuri was strong between Kou and Rin but then Kou gone to Ubisoft and their relationships froze.
Hifumi have become an NPC. You can't do it with the most popular character.
7/10. Stupid new characters ruined everything.

I don't think Rin is worried about Aoba and Ko's relationship. I think it's pretty clear between all parties that Ko is Aoba's mentor and role model.

A huge step down from the first season. It had none of the subtlety, humor or cleverness of the previous season, with contrived drama, overused character gimmicks and an incredibly uneven, schizophrenic focus which absolutely ruined the mood and feeling of the show. First season had deadlines and development as a backdrop for all of the cute nonsense, with a good sense of progress for both the characters and the game. This had none of that despite the fact that Aoba had more hands on responsibility, and the fact that we were seeing a game's development in its entirety this time. Rather than having Hifumi quietly hovering around in the background, as a quiet character should be, this season instead decided to hardly include her at all, which was a shame because I thought her character was handled very well in the first season, just mysterious enough to believe in her communication difficulties but present and engaged enough to feel like a character.

Taking a more 'serious' approach with the drama would have been fine if there was a sense that all of the worrying was working towards...something. They're making a game, but it doesn't feel like it, well until the end when there's a release date out of nowhere. Was expecting some light situational drama but got nonsense that seemed shoehorned in.

It was a mess and it kinda sucked. Pretty disappointed.

Highlight was probably Nene making her dumb little knight game, and I don't even like her that much. Also, the Peco game was really lame.

Huuh, so she's going to a known France game company? As a lot of people said already, that reeks like Ubisoft. Not sure if that's a good decision xD

Once again Doga Kobo stays consistent even in season 2. Flawless art and animation, they're really one of the best studios for CGDCT anime. New Game is a show I could continue to watch endlessly, especially after a hard day at work. Even though it's not the best anime out there. 8/10

That was great!
Didn’t expect myself to like this that much, but the story had some great characters and character development! It felt like a journey you took along with the characters...

The ending felt fitting, given that Aoba now has a chance to grow on her own as a character designer.
I was a bit sad that Hifumin got so little screen time, but I’m glad Nenecchi got some development.

Fingers crossed we get new seasons, this was really enjoyable !

Cause Ubisoft is in France and Blizzard isn't....

Anyway, good season, I didn't like it as much as the first, but it was still good. We got some good character development and the ending was solid enough for a 7.5 overall (rounded up for now at least). Great seeing the characters again (Rin and Kou were really cute, I ship it, Momo is kinda great and Naru become somewhat tolerable at least) and I guess it's time to read the manga. Loved that it had a similar vibe to Shirbako and hopefully season 3 can get made in the next few years once more of the manga's released and the second plague ends. Season 1- 8.3/10, ova- 7.3/10, season 2- 7.5/10, season 2 finale- 8.5/10, show overall- 8/10
