2 minutes in and they're recycling shots. This is an unfortunate example of a show where poor visuals are having a negative effect on my viewing experience. That, and the fact that Naho is stupid dense.

Man, you know what? Just let Kakeru kill himself if that's what he wants to do. Hagita said it himself, the future is being changed at the expense of everyone but this one crybaby character that's looking for a reason to die. Letting him do what he wants is a better option than allowing other people to play the martyr for Kakeru, including one of your so called friends that's genuinely in love with Naho. Kakeru isn't, I don't care what anyone says.

Suwa is one of the best characters of the year for me so far and really has just as good a reason as Kakeru (if not better) to be upset. It sucks that this dude is playing 8man for some whiny jerk that doesn't even want to help himself. Suwa martyring himself is literally the only thing that's sad about this anime in my opinion. Everything else is more frustrating than anything.

Let that boy die if he wants to die so badly. This show in a nutshell is the gang pointlessly jumping through hoops to baby Kakeru. If he can't stand on his own at this point, he won't last anyways. Even if he does, he'll just stay the same pathetic charity case no matter how many years pass.

Seriously, why was she so intent on making him stay. Let the kid see his grandmother.

Yet again Suwa saves the day. What a god. ^^

Because THIS is the day that Kakeru dies. Naho is afraid of leaving him alone because the second that happens, Kakeru is gonna commit suicide.

And to be honest I'm getting really pissed at this kid. Ok he has regret, he feels guilt, but he is so freaking unstable. At one second he laughs and the next one he lashes at you. Despite the many conversations, heavy talks, emotional support and everything the gang has done to tell him he did nothing wrong, he still feels like he should die and lashes out at anybody who attempts to comfort him.

Yes he has a heavy burden, but it is getting really intolerant and unjustified how dumb he can get. But the question still remains, how the heck to make him finally let go of that guilt and that feeling of killing himself.

Suwa did the "right" move by not confessing otherwise the events would repeat themselves. I really would like that somehow he confessed after everything got solved but that seems unlikely. While throwing away his feelings for Naho cannot exactly be called the best, I think he realizes that their love came into fruition as a result of tragic events more so than love itself.

Now next episode is gonna about how the gang will prevent the suicide.

Actually your wrong this is not the day that Kakeru dies.....It's already been stated that Kakeru dies on Valentines day not New Years.

I also find it hard to believe her words here. She's really starting to appear pathetic.

Naho straight lied to Suwa in the future as well. If she really thought that she would love Suwa over Kakeru the future Naho would have mentioned that Suwa confesses his love for her. She did not write about it bc she doesn't love Suwa more :O yep I said it.

Naho messed it up again smh....and she didn't apologize right then and there either. The episode was decent.

Man, the fact that Suwa has pictures of future him and his child makes it even more heartbreaking. I don't know what future Suwa was thinking showing present Suwa the future he is trying to change.
I honestly don't know how the story will end at this point.

Phew, talk about a heavy episode. The falling out between Kakeru and Naho was just...it's that moment where knowing the future does more harm than good. The way Kakeru pushed her away was really depressing. The way he glared at her and when he threw his cell phone, it felt like his self-hatred was weighing me down.

And of course best man Suwa making the ultimate sacrifice to cheer them on.

I don't think the people here understand what severe depression is. This anime is not and was never meant to be all rainbows and daisies. Not even close.

Kakeru is a dick. He fucks up a lot. He thinks he's a burden to others. He pushes people away. He has constant mood swings. And not even for one second does he think about ever getting better. That is depression in its rawest form.

People with depression do not think they are worth it. They do not think they're going to have a bright future. Sometimes they don't even know if they're going to wake up the next morning. Kakeru is the best representative for depression in anime and if people thought a person with a mental illness was going to be all jolly carefree, then they'e extremely wrong.

You didn't have to show that ridiculous kiss/bite/sniffing scene again. Thank you.

"You'll understand one day."
"Your grandma showed me the pic. Your mom was in it, too."
"Just smile from the bottom of your heart. You don't have to suffer anymore."
Honestly this advice feels a bit off. It's shady. If I was Kakeru, I'd already by suspicious by this stage if not before (and I think he did)

"Even if Kakeru were alive, I would have married you."
You better follow these words even in the new timeline. Honestly I think at least Naho marrying Suwa shouldn't change. Coz in my opinion, Naho and Kakeru's relationships gets fragile at a certain point. Both are the type who need someone more reliable to support them, I don't think it's a very balanced couple. It wouldn't work in a long run if you ask me. or both of them should just marry Suwa

God the derp faces were.. derpy. At least they still do a good job on the backgrounds.
Hagita's tsukkomis are the best, and I love how Azu doesn't even bother denying anything haha. She's so chill with their friends teasing them. Heck she even takes part in it, I love her
It's okay Hagita, your muffler is the cutest lmao
And it's okay Hagita, your slightly good luck is the best too

NAHO PLS. Just say that you want to visit his grandma too or something. Stop with the creepy "Your grandma will be alright. She's not going anywhere." It sounds wrong and heartless despite your intentions.

And yea, Suwa deserves all the support. But honestly stop forcing yourself. He annoys me sometimes with how selfless he is. Like it's good to support them but you don't need to do it 100% It's alright to be selfish once in a while. Come on.

And rip phone...

Ugh, this is the eps where I think I might come to dislike Naho. Her future self already told her to watch what she has to say so why can't she just tell Kakeru that she'll accompany him home and visit his grandma rather than telling him to stay a while longer just because she doesn't feel good about leaving him alone? After 11 episodes she still needs Suwa and her friends to push her from behind and tell her what to do. If her present self already needs so much help for her relationship with Kakeru what will happen when she got no more of "advice" from her future self that she can use as reference? And Kakeru as well, it always feels like we're going back to stage 1; it's a 1 step forward and 2 step back when it comes to him.

Suwa is the best. It's really sad to see him encouraging Kakeru and Naho when he has feelings for Naho and especially after learning the future by watching the photos. That's not something everyone could do.

and when Naho try to not make any mistake when talk to Kakeru, I said, "Come on, ask him if you could come with him to visit his grandma, and that way, everything will be fine." and then Naho said, "I want you here a bit longer", I just literally facepalmed and said "Are you f*cking kidding me Naho!?"

I think this episode just reinforces the idea that, although Naho knows what she should do in a situation, when the situation is actually happening she struggles to follow through. I can relate to that because things are a lot easier in the imagination than in practice.
I wish Suwa had confessed but it's not an easy thing to do given the circumstances.
Best part of the episode was Azusa's hat imo.

Every time I see Suwa Jr. my heart gets crushed knowing he might never exist in the future D: I can't imagine Suwa baby not being born. At least show me a Kakeru Jr. to appease my burning soul.

When Suwa was looking at the pictures, is that future Suwa or past Suwa (assuming his future self sent him some photos, if that's even possible)?

I hate Naho for being such a fucking lead head all the time but I can't believe I'm saying this, I kind of understand why she would try to stop him. Kakeru is suffering from severe clinical depression and leaving him alone could be dangerous. Perhaps, maybe even Kakeru himself doesn't realize he's mentally and emotionally unstable right now and he's like a time bomb.

Also, I believe Takako-chan and Hagita are right. Suwa not revealing his true feelings could possibly lead to a negative outcome. You've got to level the playing field. It's like those Back to the Future movies or that novel A Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury where changing something in the past results into chaos.

A lot of people are claiming Naho made a(n) 'idiotic' or silly choice asking Kakeru to stay instead of return to his sickly grandmother. You guys should realize that she wasn't asking him to stay so that he wouldn't be with his grandmother; she asked him to stay because it's dangerous for Kakeru to be alone at this point in his mental health. Now, like a lot of you have said; she could have asked to go with him - but the odds are he would decline since one of his main motives was to be alone.. couple that with the fact that they had friends expecting them to return, etc. and it's not an easy decision to make at that moment especially if you're stressing or emotional.

Also, being someone with a mental abnormality (I don't like calling it problem / issues); I can understand where Kakeru's frustration comes from, but taking out the repressed aggression and anger that he holds towards himself on his friends who are literally trying at every moment to be kind to him is just being a bit a-holeish, even accounting for the mental trauma.

Also, a side note on Suwa: He's just, too nice - it's unreal. I probably would make a decision similar to his because realistically if Suwa took Naho things would end poorly; but damn it hurts to watch. Losing the girl you love, just to help some guy who entered the picture a few weeks ago. It's almost like he's obligated to give up Naho for someone who just came out of nowhere, when he's been with her for years. Honestly it's an awful situation for Suwa, and his responses and the way he acts make him one of my favorite characters; but also the one I feel the most pity for.

OH MY GOSH, I SO agree with this. Yes, I think maybe Naho should have offered to come with him and him rejecting her and then ending up in the fight so that it was more believable. But I can understand that she was really stressed so the only thing she could think of is "I don't want to leave Kakeru alone" so she just asked him to stay. And yes, it's true I mean they had to go back to the rest of the group. So I'm sure she meant for him to stay until they go back and then he can leave. She said "just a bit more" so I don't think she meant for him to stay a lot of time... but I think maybe he thought of it that way...
Now... I totally think she should have run after him and apologized and I don't know why she didn't do it... but I guess the story is about how Naho is not that strong-willed and tries to overcome that. I think maybe we needed to see another moment of her being hesitant before she manages to make a move.
Also what Suwa did was great but honestly... I think it was the most rational thing to do. This was not the time to confess. If he wanted to confess he pretty much could have done it at any other point... Like the day Naho is crying because she has a fight with Kakeru who is suicidal and is now alone whoknowswhere is totally not the moment to be confessing your love. First of all it's taking advantage of Naho being in a weak moment and secondly it's better if someone goes after Kakeru. Also Suwa knows Naho likes Kakeru and she shows 0 signs of liking Suwa... so really he is right that there is no point in him confessing. Just because he confesses she isn't going to magically fall in love with him...
I think Naho in the future was really hurt because of Kakeru's death and ended up seeking Suwa's comfort because he liked her. So she came to love him and care for him and decided to marry him. But she kind of settled because I don't think she really was 'in love'.
Also yeah, the friends are kinda... not thinking so rationally >.> I mean yeah it could have been better executed but it's pretty good still. Though I believe it had some more potential.

1)The art came back to being amazing again
2)Azusa and Hagita are couple goals, they are funny and a little bit romantic but always roast each other, like old people,I wanted to see a kiss damn it
3)Takako continues to be the Orange's Olenna Tyrell, confronting people directly and calling them out for their BULLSHIT
4)SUWA IS THE MVP again.I loved his little arc there and was surprised to see his future self told him everything about his marriage with Naho and sent pictures of their family. He again sacrificed himself for her,he is the ultimate husband material:smart, tall, redhead, handsome, muscular, selfless and funny(Why is Naho so blind?)
5)As many said,Naho and Kakeru have 0 chemistry, they look nice together but probably would end up killing each other, one committing suicide and Naho starving herself next to his corpse
6)Naho screw up,big time, again, was it that hard to ask him to go together,I knew she would since her friends said she will do fine,I was like, guys you know she is DENSE QUEEN,right?
7)I feel so bad for Kakeru as I dealt myself with depression for over 1-2 years,is a hard burden but I never sent away people who tried to help me,him killing his pall Mr Phone, was rude and unnecessary, some people can't afford a phone,it looked expensive btw
8)Naho dedicating herself to Kakeru isn't much since the girl is cute at most and is dumb AF,we were all kids but I refuse to think anyone here was this dense or this careless.

Everyone speaking about their experiences with depression in the comments was really touching. So yeah, Kakeru's behaviour is absolutely normal and we understand the way he's feeling and why he's doing all this, but that objectively doesn't change the fact that he's making everyone around him feel like shit when they've literally done nothing but being cautious with him and trying to make him feel better. Shitty behaviour requires an apology (Y) and throwing the phone on the ground was straight up childish.
I think at this point we're just going towards the perfect shojo ending in which Kakeru apologizes to everyone while him and everyone else is crying, he and Naho get together and Suwa just watches over them even though he's feeling very bad, knowing that he was probably going to lead Naho to a future she didn't exactly like if he didn't change things.

@ShaneM got it spot on with Naho. With Kakeru's mental health making it tougher for the others to choose the right choices, in that situation, I can't blame Naho for making an error. She's very concerned about Kakeru's mental health and what's to make sure that he's not alone, but her choice did unfortunately backfire.

Yes, she can be dense at times, but for goodness sake, she deserves a lot less hate from the others users here. ¬_¬

Kakeru was rude though. He's very stressed out, but he failed to understand that his friends really want to help him and has been lashing out his frustrations at them recently. To add to that, when Naho tried to call him later, he let his anger get the better of him and broke his smartphone. RIP phone-kun. D=

Suwa is facing a dilemma himself as well. Takako wants him to confess his feelings to Naho and is sort of pressuring him into doing so, but she fails to really grasp the fact about Suwa's selfless generosity he's given to Naho since episode 1. He made the correct choice to helping Naho once more at the shrine instead of confessing his love for Naho. At that time and with the stress and emotions all over the place, his confession would only complicated matters more and make the whole situation worse.

He's still the best character in Orange and I wish I had a friend like that in my life as well. ^_^

Good episode overall, despite it being filled with heavy drama.

I'll quote myself, as I don't think the situation has changed one bit, with the exception of Suwa being so selfless to a point where no one would go to such an extreme length; it's too fantastical(too good to be true), the ultimate white knight, and it's annoying because he's an interesting and enjoyable character.

It's really baffling how the "relationship" developed or is developing between Naho and Kakeru, and one must wonder how things got to be this messy, when there was nothing to mess up.
And I really hope that Naho is diagnosed with some clinical condition, because there's no other way to explain her complete lack of awareness to other peoples emotions, as well as surroundings, because oblivious is a small word to use here. I can understand that Kakeru's an emotional trainwreck, a ticking time bomb, but Nahos actions are the most baffling to me.
The relationship that they're pushing, as well as the author, it's just forced, because I don't see how those two types of personalities are going to match, nor do I see Naho as someone who's able to act when needed, especially for someone who requires an outgoing, eloquent, supportive and delicate person in order to try and tame their unpredictability.

It feels as if the author lost clarity of what he wanted originally to do with the story.

Actually I'm not so sure. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense that the letter said "apologize there, OR you won't have a chance again". My guess is that Kakeru died on New Year and they only found out in Valentine.

Also the way Naho is going after Kakeru and him going on his way alone makes think that he may otherwise accelerate the timing of his death. I think this is why the party is anxious about this day and of leaving Kakeru alone.

I've had my own problems with depression for years, and it's very easy to act the way Kakeru does: wanting to be alone, pushing people away, refusing help or refusing to acknowledge you even have a problem. On the other hand the worst thing you can do is excuse this behaviour and say "well, that's all OK because your depressed". Depression, no matter what form it takes, is not an excuse. Kakeru should apologise for his actions, and his friends should be firm and tell him when his behaviour is unacceptable. Yes you need to be sensitive and understanding, but you also need to establish boundaries for acceptable behaviour just like you would in any relationship.

Honestly, the most annoying this about this anime is that no one has taken steps to get Kakeru the help he needs. Orange is constantly sending the message that it's entirely the responsibility of your friends to help you cope which is just not true. While having help and support from the people around you is important, the best thing you can do for someone with depression is send them to someone who can provide proper treatment - even if that person would be upset or angry at the time, professional support is ultimately the best thing for them.

Damn.... I was still rooting for Suwa. Why can't he save Kakeru AND get together with Naho as well? I mean, Kakeru's future doesn't depend solely on his love life, does it? Cause that'd be kinda sad. I'm starting to really get annoyed with Kakeru and Naho at this point.

This show has already two historical records in the anime world:
-Most annoyingly stupid MC: Naho
-Most kind hearted guy: Suwa

I thought it's became obvious once Suwa revealed he got a letter & from then on, he seems to understand Naho more and make her a better person than Kakeru could ever do. They seem to naturally end up in situation together (in many of them Suwa intentionally avoids) where for Naho & Kakeru imo.. mostly happens by force (their friends doing it)
I thought Takano also hinted it when she said that Naho might be in love with Kakeru now but she'll end up with Suwa eventually. And it's quite different to how Suwa interpret it where he supposedly only ended up with Naho because Kakeru died. idk I trust Takano, I think she would phrase it like Naho & Suwa got together because Kakeru died. But instead she said~ Naho eventually falls in love with Suwa.

And Suwa just suspiciously too good. He helped her way too many times, he has been the only one constantly propelling, encouraging & supporting her to do challenging things against her nature and to be there to help understand & save Kakeru, and it's not like his overwhelming selflessness for Naho is used to build a love triangle between Suwa, Naho & Kakeru. It's the creator hinting shit tbh. Like Suwa gets Naho & make her stronger, again & again it shows this.

His just constantly there like a guardian angel. Suwa is always looking out for her and see if she needs any help but tries to avoid her at the same time. This goes back to Takano, she sees this clearly. Which is why she was so persistent into Suwa coming and confessing his feelings. She knows Suwa avoids anything that could potentially make him closer to Naho, she seem to believes that Naho & Suwa will naturally happen. Takano also said the romance shit is irrelevant to Kakeru life, that Suwa can still confess and they can still save Kakeru.

Azusa also knows lol, she did say she support Suwa since she knows his the one that can protect Naho.

I just can't believe y'all miss these and only talk about Naho being dumb & Kakeru being annoying and should die already. Even characters expressing there support is not enough to get rid of you guys believing they just ended up together because suwa was naho only option after kakeru died & that it's impossible she could genuinely loves Suwa. People also don't see that Naho is pretty stress out with Kakeru and doesn't really understand him, there were already some misunderstandings between them and they aint even started dating yet.

I also find it hard to believe her words here. She's really starting to appear pathetic.

Part of me wonders if future Naho really meant it when she said she'd still marry Suwa even if Kakeru was still alive. For some reason I highly doubt that.

Naho said she was overjoyed when Suwa confessed and Kakeru was still alive when Suwa confessed. She probably didn't like Suwa as much as Kakeru when Suwa confessed but she was still happy about it though. So there was probably some feelings there already,
and it didn't just appear after Kakeru died, like many people seem to believe.

Every time I see Suwa Jr. my heart gets crushed knowing he might never exist in the future D: I can't imagine Suwa baby not being born. At least show me a Kakeru Jr. to appease my burning soul.

Why do you guys keep forgetting that it's parallel world and the baby from the other world will not disappear.

yeah that's exactly what Takano said! Go back & see.
She was saying that he should confessed and it's not relevant to Kakeru dying, that they can still save him regardless.

Why ppl ignoring this lol
Because, the only "sci-fi" genre in this Anime is just the time capsule right? And mind if I remind you of another genre? That's right, ROMANCE. How do you expect people when they see Anime with such Romance AND "Triangle love" or something like that? It mean it's time to start judge something like "Why does A have to do that to B?", "Why can't just B just go along with C?", "Why A have to be that dense?", and more "Why" question.
In the end, it's just judging for who's the "bad" person. Even when it comes with little compassion. Is it "Logic" or what?

I really liked this episode. Kakeru's voice actor did a great job!
I'm excited to see the next episode because this one ended in gliffhanger.
The part where Kakeru threw his phone broke me.
