Damn Suwa - nice sixpack.

Still Kakeru and Naho are pathetic.

i cant help but laugh at those derp faces, lol i didnt notice until the end of the episode, but when i looked back, omg

i find really annoying that Naho denied Kakeru, while getting him in a worst state (at least I looked it that way)

Quite an abrupt ending and a QUALITY episode.

This is so true.^^
The major drop in animation this episode was so prominent. It can't just be me who thought Azu resembles a monkey in that shot. It was so distracting. However, even with this lowered quality and awkward cliffie the episode really felt like it was dragged out.

My two highlights this episode were the holding hands scene and Hagita's fake abs.

Seriously the art this episode was quite ludicrously atrocious. I would've accepted it if it were a few scenes, but when it was literally 85% of the entire episode.... there's some serious issues with the art department as a whole.

The story is getting a bit convoluted here. Kakeru acting all nonchalant, whilst feeling so tortured inside because he keeps denying his own right to be happy. If anything I feel like Naho's making more of an attempt to step out of her shell to express her feelings. Despite that moment she got startled by him getting too close, she still stuck out her hand immediately after for him to hold.

Hope the art improves though, because this episode was a disappointment.

Usually I am not one to complain about or even notice bad animation, but this episode really looked atrocious. What happened, did they run out of budget?

Story-wise it was also pretty disappointing. Nothing happened and it wasn't even funny. This show has been dropping in quality lately. I hope it picks up again.

The anime has always had those derpy faces animations but it was much more noticeable in this one, oh well at least they continue to deliver some really well drawn stills in between.
I like that Suwa is trying to raise some jealousy in Kakeru.

In the manga, Naho explains in the narration that she's scared of dating Kakeru because that will make their present deviate too much from what the letter says, and that might end up rendering the letter useless. She's scared that if she can't follow the letter anymore, they won't be able to save him. When I read that chapter I completely understood her reasons, but as with pretty much everything else she has done so far, in the anime she just comes off as too dense and too much of a coward.

I decided to reread the manga and now that I have it all fresh in my memory I think there's something really wrong with this adaptation. I can't really put my finger on it, they've been adapting stuff almost word by word for most of the episodes but still, it feels like there's something that made the manga enjoyable that's missing. One thing i noticed is that Naho and Kakeru have much more personality in the manga. She's definitely a lot less dislikeable, and each time they manage to make Kakeru happy , I feel really happy for him, whereas in the anime I can't really feel any sort of empathy for him.

Also the animation sucked so bad, oh my god

So what the hell happened with the visuals? It looked terrible. The animation is also very inconsistent. They should have probably delayed this episode by a week. It would have been better rather than seeing this sudden drop in animation quality..

Also, I was able to tolerate Naho's dense last episode because it's completely understandable. She was relying on the letter too much and that's the reason why she was acting the way she was. In this episode, her dense level is seriously starting to annoy me. Naho now has all her friends behind her back and the way she acts....Gahh..

But what surprises me the most is Naho and Kakeru already confessed their feelings towards each other. In this episode, they were acting like they're still not a goddamn couple.

3/5

I seriously love this show and I really want to keep it at 9/10 but if this keeps up, then I'm probably going to have to drop my rating to 8/10. Not a major drop because majority of the show was pretty good..It's just that I didn't enjoy this episode that much.

I must be a horrible critic because my thoughts about this episode are the polar opposite of everyone else's... I loved this episode, much more than the last, and I thought the art looked gorgeous. Also the first episode where I actually noticed how good the OST is.

It would definitely be better for us if the quality increases but it wouldn't be so good for them, they have strict TV deals, they can't just keep missing air dates or else they won't be able to air the whole thing, as seen with Sakamoto that only aired 12 episodes and had the 13th episode as an ova, I think Kekkai Sensen, it's also bad if the japanese viewers lose interest or forget because it kept missing air dates.

This ep was disappointing in terms of art and character. Kakeru and Naho acting too emo for their own good. What a good show it would have been if the story put NahoxKakeru in background after ep7 and focuses more on the group-of-four interesting characters.

The comedy and light-moments were nice. They would even mock Hagita's parents.....LOL

Suwa stopped Kakeru from thinking about his mother by making him jealous... Hmmmm... I don't know if that was a good idea or not but I'm really mad that Naho didn't tell Kakeru that she wanted to go out with him. It's not going to cure his depression but if both of them like each other and will be happier together then why is that so hard to comprehend? And Kakeru telling Suwa that it wouldn't be a good idea because he might not always be there was just another hint toward his suicidal thoughts.

There were times when I couldn't tell that someone speaking was one of the main characters because they were drawn in a background character style...lacking in detail and quality. Close-ups of their faces were usually pretty decent, but otherwise they just seemed really off.

Way to ruin a great story.
Good thing I read the manga beforehead, because this here is a goddamn joke.
I mean, they are obviously lacking in budget with the animation gradually getting
worse with every episode, but come on, it's like they didn't even try this time.
Especially with Takako. She's not a main character and all, but it wouldn't hurt
to make her look like a human, not a freaking monkey.
Also, why do I feel like they're making Naho way more irrirating than she actually is?
I don't remember being that annoyed with her while reading the manga.
Put aside the awkward-ish dialogue, which, along with the animation,
is getting even more ridiculous, it's natural for Kakeru to think that he might
hurt Naho if they start going out because of what happened with his mother,
but Naho is definitely not helping him with all the "I-I like you, but it's not like
I want to go out with you, baka!" She knows it's hard on him and yet...

This is one of these stories where you have to wait patiently for it to get good,
but honestly, if I hadn't been a manga reader, I would've dropped this show by now.

The umbrella scene felt lackluster. I enjoyed that scene in the manga, but not much here. Maybe it was the overall presentation (art and sound direction), I don’t know. The cartoony parts were neat though. I’m glad they didn’t cut that Hagita scene with the markers during the sports’ festival because that scene was funny…. I felt that ending of the episode came out a bit abrupt though.

In other news, production values aren’t getting any better. I wish those funding and in charge of this project had put more effort-care into making this particular anime, but it is what it is, I guess.

Im not really liking where the shows going... it feels like they are all giving up there future just to save kakeru... i mean i know suwa and naho dont know about there future together and what "hinted" to be suwa and nahos baby but shouldnt naho know this completely changes her life? and she hasnt even thought about it, and unlike the first few episodes it feels like they are all revolving around kakeru making sure his feelings dont get hurt so he doesnt neck himself, idk i liked the first few eps but its starting to feel like they are all more worried about him just being alive other than actually building a relationship with him unlike there future selves did... i mean they are building a relationship but its almost like its a fake one? idk thats just how i feel, this ep was a 3/5 for me, i didnt really notice the lack in animation tbh but it did feel like a filler.

The only thing I pretty much liked was Hagita about this episode. He's such a funny character. Other than that Kakeru seemed really emotionally unstable which I can understand because the poor guy lost his mom to suicide. She wanted to die. It's not something you can get over so easily. Even with friends around there are feelings that can consume you. I just never know what he's going to do. Wasn't really feeling this episode. Meh. When it ended it I was like "whaaaat that's it?" Hope next week is better.

This episode made me want to cry. And not because of the feels - the art was atrocious (except at that one scene with the rain and the hand-holding) If a picture is worth a thousand words, here's my thousand-word rant:

And Suwa gets his own special rant cause I really like his character and this episode just butchered him.

Story-wise, it was okay. It's not exactly picking up but at least we learn that Naho has decided to read the letters again.

The last two episodes with the way Kakeru and especially Naho act is driving me insane.

After she smashed the umbrella away from coming in close contact it pretty much goes-

Kakeru:do you want to go out?
Naho: No things are fine like this

30 seconds later in her head
Naho: I would like to go out with Kakeru

FFS, your making me want to rip my hair out. Between this "romance" , the tiniest bit of contact making her freak out, and just being so clueless I mean she practically has an effing cheat sheet! Why are they purposely ruining a storyline that has the potential to be extremely good?

You know, I really try to like this anime, because it gives off this nice vibe and I can see that a lot of love went into making this and the characters are such nice people that it should give me a fuzzy feeling inside, yet I feel nothing.
How on earth do you have two characters, who already told each other that they love one another and then have them do everything they can to make sure they never ever get together? This makes no sense! I have stopped criticizing Naho, cause I don't pick on retards, but now Kakeru is heading into the same direction.
There is no reason whatsoever for me to root for them anymore. They have succeeded already, they love each other and they know it. And now they don't want to be together for...what reason exactly? What is the point of this anime anymore?
Fuck this shit, they don't deserve to be happy.

Honestly seeing Kakeru the way he is makes me so sad. I can relate to him very well. The constant mood swings, the feeling of being a burden, the unsettling wonder of how your life is/is not going to turn out are very true things in depression.

It's also probably one of the reasons why his and Naho's relationship isn't progressing so well. But Naho's denseness is also a factor in that.
