| OK, what the hell did I just watch? I like the idea of a show based on cooking battles but those foodgasms were ridiculous - way over the top. |

| I am so disappointed... I expected way more from this anime. First off I am a big fan of the manga (9/10) but the first episode didn't impressed me much. The animations are lackluster in comparison with the manga which feels more impact-full and vibrant. The bgm/soundtracks whatever you wanna call is just sucks. I feel it was over-dramatized. It sounded like a soundtrack of a epic sword fight like Bleach instead of a cooking battle. Voice acting was great except for the the fact that they choose Matsuoka, Yoshitsugu for Yukihara Souma's voice... I think he fits characters like Bell from DanMachi or Kirito and Watase Aoba more. You know, those softhearted kind of characters. Souma to me feels like a bad-ass that you dont mess around with. However in the anime he doesn't have that kinda of impact because of Matsuoka, Yoshitsugu voice that doesn't have that kind of feel to it. Seeing Souma actions/reactions and character is what drives the manga I hope his VA gets better and the soundtrack and animations or il will probably drop this and just stick to the manga. tl;dr 6/10 Not terrible but it doesn't live up to the manga + the main character VA does a terrible job voicing/expressing the character. |

| YYYYYYYYYYESSSSSSSSS! Shokugeki no Souma to take Spring season by STORM! The episode was simply brilliant! The foodgasms were right on and Matsuoka suits Souma just fine despite my edginess from the previews. ヽ(´∇｀)ノ BANZAI! The opening is nice and the ending is sooo catchy! Definitely can't wait for the next episode! ^^ |

| Are you serious? This was ridiculous! Do they really think an anime is entertaining and good if there are exaggerated ecchi scenes everywhere? Really? This is utterly unbelievable. I'm really disappointed of the first episode. I'm not going to watch something like that. |

| Not a manga reader here. I was hoping the Ecchi tag wouldn't be full blown on this show... Boy was I wrong. For shows like this, I would prefer there to be less of it, but hey... W/e. 7/10 first impression due to the intensity in the cooking. |

| That was a great start, as I expected from this anime. All I can say is everything was amazing, fucking amazing. The OP and ED was stucked in my head, its so catchy. | That was so ridiculous. I kind of liked how over-the-top it was though. But I can see it being repetitive in the future, here's to hoping the story will prevent that. |

| This was a FANTASTIC first episode of Shokugeki no Soma! Based J.C. Staff, they actually did an amazing adaptation of the manga so far. The foodgasm scenes were done perfectly, very erotic, hot and over-the-top sexy. :D Souma's badass scenes were also really cool, along with the great OST. However, we have to talk about how DELICIOUS the food looks. My goodness, makes me want to drool so much. Great start, and can't wait for more! Seeing Erina at the end was a good tease. ;) I really like the OP, very upbeat and it has some great scenes of future characters. The ED is really catchy, and funny to see everyone like naked and having the foodgasms. Oh man, I'm so glad Shokugeki no Soma's anime is finally here, this is gonna be a good ride. :D 5/5 |

| Why some of you even comparing Koukufu with Souma? Asides of food and foodgasm, they are entirely different series. Just think of it as a light appetizer and you have the real meat after that. |
| If J.C. Staff is going manage to maintain the quality every week, this anime is going to be a big hit. The manga is already successful. |

That's okay, you're free to speak whatever you say about this, but hear me out on this: Cooking in this series can actually get pretty deep and the competitions just shows how intense and how serious it can be. Sure fanservce is that sidedish and makes up most of the foodgasms, but that's not entirely the point. As the story progresses, such as competitions and gimmick battles, the actual 'cooking' aspect is going to be more heavily focused on and much less on the fanservice. |
