For some reason, I really enjoy the natural outlook of this series/episode.

Well, this guy is definitely suspicious and has that mystery atmosphere around him:

That song performed by Izumiko seemed quite catchy imo.

Kugimiya-san's character is not a person? As a spirit on the mountain (looks like an Indian God when he disappeared), he was formed just to her wish of making friend?

Also showing her dance as well as song. Looks like she's starting to change and be aware of her power?

The new school, looks like an university!

That was another good episode. They avoided having it follow the usual direction.

Now, where will the story go? (You can take the girl out of the mountains, but can you take the mountains out of the girl?... <g>)

Why are those two all friendly all the sudden?? I mean sure last episode did change their views a bit but all the sudden their best friends ._.

In my opinion that change was kind of forceful but idk.

I know! I was thinking same thing!. I tried to think possible reason and came up these: Miyuki hit his head some point between ep 2 and 3, Miyuki's dad brainwashed him and Anime magic.
Izumiko change is reasonable, they held hands when they were escapeing evil spirits or smth, but Miyuki's change is other hand was waaaaaay forced. I mean from " *tsh* why i have babysit this wimp?" to " Just wait! im gonna train harder and im going protect you!!" feels super forced.

Well, after he witnessed all that craziness,(her being himegami and Wamyia being a minor god) it would prolly turn most peoples attitude around. Wouldnt call them best friends quite yet, but he certainly shaped up around her. Plus 6 months have passed before she goes to that school at the end.

Liked this episode.

Well in the previous episode, he saw how scared Izumiko could get. Not only this, but he realizes that she's also not in a position she wants to be in, and shares her feelings. Also, in this episode, he mentions that he's going to give up on getting away from her and put his efforts in moving towards his goals.

Nah I get that but the point is you don't just abandon all resentment all the sudden. At the very least they should have shown him break down or something. Even if you take the facts of the situation it still felt forced.

Well, I guess now that Miyuki has a better view on the things around Yukimasa and Izumiko, he calmed down a bit though he indeed had a sudden change of heart.

But that roommate girl is too forceful on Izumiko, suddenly calling her Izumiko-chan and all.

Third's a charm?

Lol I was actually expecting him to shout again, but he calmed down probably because he was "freed" by Yukimasa and had nothing to complain about anymore in actuality. It's what he wanted after all, and even if it makes him irritated, I guess he found other ways to beat the shit out of his father (thereby going to Houjou).

But yeah, it's hard not to have the shipping goggles on...

I was pretty tense when Wamiya came in, i think the music had a good effect for that scene, the dancing scene also looked really pretty in my opinion also had a singing accompanyment that made it all the more better, and now they go to a new school and im picking up some Ao no exorcist vibes because of how Miyuki was like there is a reason that this school was recommended and i think he said something about it not being normal.

I really don't like Miyuki even though he was drawn to look good. One second he's all protective (and randomly too, I mean didn't he just hate Izumiko in the last episode?) and the next he's a total wimp who's willing to do anything that some strange guy with powers is telling him to do. He doesn't even try to understand the aspect of the situation as a whole. Rather, it's always, "What can I do?" or "What will I say?" and whatnot. And his fake polite attitude in front of adults really pisses me off as well. It's so ridiculous that I hope he's insulted about it later on in the anime.

As for Izumiko, character development going well enough I suppose. Himegami stuff is still mysterious and not making any sense. Izumiko's dad appears out of nowhere whereas when we last saw him he was talking to her on webcam? We still have yet to sort out the past which apparently plays an important role in the main relationships in this anime.

So far, I'm not liking the episodes. The plot's rather boring and moving at a snail pace. We also have no idea why it's called Red Data Girl when the key word here seems to be Himegami. Hopefully things will start making sense by the next episode or this anime just may be dropped.

My shipping goggles have red rims this time around...

Actually I think it's entirely reasonable for some changes in their relationship to occur considering there did seem to be some danger in Tokyo that they faced down together and he got to assume a protector role towards her. I also would suggest that being in the presence of a goddess when she incarnates just might have some effect on your feelings about things in general and towards her vessel in particular (especially if it's someone you've known since childhood).

And that dance and song probably was the icing on the cake--if it could charm a mountain god what would it do to an adolescent male...

LOL I see what you did there!!

XD And yeah I love the visuals. P.A. Works usually show great sceneries and all. Ü I hope they would extend the episodes though. If this came from like...5-6 novels in a series, 12 would mean...just one or two volumes...depending how long it is...

And it's a novel not light novel, so...I wonder...=.=

Well Still not a big fan of this anime, but this is deff an improvement on the first 2 eps... I might end up dropping it like Tari Tari though.... the mundane SoL stuff just doesn't appeal much to me.

Good episode. It was nice to see Suzuhara take charge during the confrontation with Wamiya.

The dance was pretty but her singing was more impressive.

Not sure About the new roommate. She was a little extreme.. I get a feeling she will like Miyuki, or already does since he has been there for a while.

That, and I think Miyuki being freed from Yukimasa has to do with it as well. After all, Miyuki pretty much hates his father, and I'm pretty sure you don't want to follow orders from someone you hate. Yes Miyuki did dislike Izumiko's timidness, but he also hated the fact that he has to do what Yukimasa said, which was to protect Izumiko. Anyways, that's just my take on Miyuki's change of character.

I loved this episode! It's only the third episode, but we already get to see some character development. People didn't seem to like Izumiko's "weak" personality in the previous episodes, but she's definitely changed a little, being able to speak up for herself. I liked her dance and singing at the end, it was nice ^^

I wasn't aware that there were pre-aired episodes until today, so I just barely watched all 3. I'm rather surprised though that there are quite a few people disliking this series already or finding it mundane. Personally, I quite like it so far, and I think the slow pacing works well. Plus, we do get moments of tension mixed in with the quietness of it all, so I haven't gotten bored yet. I'm not too fond of Izumiko yet, and there are still some things that are somewhat unsettling to me, such as the jarring change in attitude from Miyuki (despite some of the suggested explanations discussed here), but I like how the show is shaping up. I'm really enjoying the mysterious setup, and I'm truly interested to see how it's all going to play out.

But his resentment isn't necessarily towards her and we know that, so coupling that with the events of last episode sort of helping them to understand each other, there's not really any reason for him to be a dick to her anymore.

And I'm not sure what having him break down would accomplish, he's known for a while his father's after something and that he's forced into this role(even though Yukimasa 'gave him the choice') so he's decided to make use of the his role and go along with it for now. If he broke down crying about how he doesn't have a choice it would be pointless and people would just say it was forced drama.

So wamiya-kun turns out to be a familiar of Izumiko's. I knew there was something odd about him, but did not expect him to try and kill that other jerk and then turn out to be a familiar lol.

I liked the dance, and how she made the nature bloom and look all nice :D.

So finally Izumiko moves to Tokyo to the academy her dad wanted to really put her in.
Her new roommate seems energetic and nice. The school itself is incredible, I love it's architecture and nature.

I did some homework and here is what I found out:

When a kami's "familiar" appears, it takes on the appearance of some kind
of animal. Some common examples are: crow, dragon, dog, cat, boar, fox,
pigeon, deer and monkey. But there are many others.

There are a variety of reasons by which the familiar for a given shrine is
chosen. It could be a play on words. It would be related to an animal which
is common in the region.

Apparently, the crow is the most common familiar for shrines. However, it
often appears as a mythological version with three legs. Search Google Images
for 八咫烏. Here is a partial list of shrines which have the crow as their familiar:
熊野本宮大社、熊野那智大社、熊野速玉大社、
大国魂神社、熊野神社、諏訪神社、八坂神社、住吉神社
上賀茂神社、下鴨神社、木烏神社(香川県丸亀市)
新宿十二社熊野神社、碓氷峠熊野神社、師岡熊野神社

Izumiko's shrine is one of the real-life Kumano (熊野) group of shrines which
are part of a World Heritage site. Their familiar is the three-legged kind of
crow.

Some vocabulary:

a familiar = otsukai = おつかい = お使い = 御使い = 眷属
2-legged crow = karasu = カラス = 鴉
3-legged crow = yatagarasu = ヤタガラス = やたがらす = 八咫烏
god = kami = 神
shrine = shensha = 神社
Princess god = Himegami = 姫神
Wamiya = familiar of the Princess god = 姫神のお使い
Kumano = 熊野

I managed to make it this far thinking that the universe had some potential, but I just can't take these awful characters anymore. Seriously, there's nothing even remotely likeable or redeeming about any of the characters, and particularly the main ones at that, or their relationships. It's just not worth sitting through for the mild curiosity about the universe. Dropped.

I thought Suzuhara would stay in her hometown for a while when Sagara said he would go to Tokyo and tell her about the school life of Houjou Gakuen. But both of them already entered the school just after the ED song. It felt rushed.

That said, the series seems promising. It's decent and serious enough to make me keep watching.

Well, they only have 9 eps left. I think it's already Spring anyway, so Izumiko probably graduated in her middle school already (perhaps only a few weeks after). New school year starts during Spring for them after all.

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.
